This is enthralling in a weird sort of way. Never been a big ‘Sly’ fan, but he’s really nailing this part.
I watched the 1st episode and that was enough for me. Never been a Sly fan either, but I just couldn’t stomach this drama. My brother lives in Tulsa and I know Tulsa well and maybe that is the reason I can’t get into. Something like this happening in T-town is just not possible. Granted back in the early part of the 20th century Tulsa was an oil town and a lot of nefarious things happened. So, maybe in a way this could happen. Yet Tulsa does have some very dark history; The Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921 killed hundreds of residents, burned more than 1,250 homes and erased years of Black success. Of course I took Oklahoma history in junior high and there was no mention of this. I read about it I think 10 years ago. Now if a drama were to be made of that massacre, I’d watch it.
