My thought on the ending is that it was fine. He was slowly shutting down his empire, saying his goodbyes. Whatever his illness was he knew he was going to die. So he did what he did to take control how and went out on his terms.
Well, thinking that bull caught him by surprise, you could see it in his eyes, but there was no fear, just resignation. He was dying anyway, and just faced it down like he did everything else. Just disappointed the writers didn’t come up with something better. Seems a bit lazy to me, and thinking Red deserved better. Would have rather he walked away clean, actually….But would have still liked to know what he was dying from.
