Just a few seconds into this series, I think to myself, “Is that the actor from Joe Pickett and For All Mankind and why does he have an Aussie accent? Sure enough it is Michael Dorman and I had no idea he is from New Zealand! Now the question is, do Aussie accents and New Zealand accents sound the same? I’ll continue to watch the first episode…stay tuned or watch it yourself…..
NZ accents pronounce ‘e’ as a long ‘e’, no matter where it is in the word….well, except at the end. It’s like ‘merry’ is pronounced ‘meery’ and ‘yes’ is pronounced ‘yees.’ Aussies don’t do that, that I can tell.
