Jokes aside, I agree, it’s odd how some of the characters shifted a bit. Happens in the book, too, IIRC.
Still I do prefer this one over the first but only because this part of the story interests me the most.
All the political intrigue, Paul’s desperate attempt to avoid a hellish future, and the frustrating (but believable) ending where nothing really changes for anyone - Spice is still the economic nexus, there’s still a political/economic emperor, etc. Just with Paul at the helm instead. Frustrating.
Yeah this is a good example of a two part film that is done right in some respects but done wrong in others as Paul fall to the dark side is something that would have been better told if it was told in a three part film and not rushed to the high heavens in just this film alone. What this films gets right tho is the fact that it’s a film that rightfully is a two part film as the story of the book couldn’t be covered in one singular film without butchering the story to the high heavens.
