The season-long story arc format here puts me in mind of another show I really loved back in the distant day - “Wise Guy.” I liked this format then, and now. When done well, you really get to dig down into the bad guys and strange motives. On this show especially, things are happening on many fronts that manage to tie in together well, even when in unexpected ways. Right now, I’m enjoying gorgeous favorite Stephen Lang, who never fails, even when playing someone who’s in the wrong, to make me want to root for some aspect of his character. I liked him as the young gun in “Crime Story,” the arch-dicque in “Terra Nova” and “Avatar,”and I still like him today. His scenes with Stabler are great here.
