Mississippi Burning (1989)

What a great movie. It was quite hard to watch the first 2/3 or so, and a little bit frustrating to see how the heinous Klansmen were getting away with so many atrocities, but Gene Hackman is a badass when he plays a good guy, and he played a great badass-good-guy in this. The ending was quite satisfying. So much hatred. And so much of it still exists and is once again rearing its infernally, ugly head. How anyone can think their DNA makes them superior is beyond me and beyond the scope of how a normal person thinks. I watched this on Superchannel but wanted to make a comment on here to recommend this movie.
