I honestly don’t see much of a connection between this and its parent series, but I am willing to give this one a chance before I make my final decision. I will state that I have strongly mixed emotions about one of the central themes being the racism and classism against the Latin culture. On the one hand, I think it’s great that they are pinpointing an attitude that has been neglected by the media and history. On the other hand, I don’t want to see this attitude marginalized and accepted as right by modern society. So long as they keep the idea that racism is wrong, then it could be a really good, intense series. For now, I’m waiting for it to pick up, and I’m willing to see where it goes.
