At an actual 46 minutes in length, this episode has now devolved into what the first season was. They’ve taken a true horror novel and made it 90% pure, agonising melodrama. 35 minutes of this episode (and the last 2 episodes) have been explanations and dramatic sequences, not visual story-telling, leaving perhaps 10 minutes of actual forward momentum to pique the viewers interest. It’s the horror and supernatural equivalent of a rotten pumpkin on Halloween. Maybe that’s the horror of this adaptation? {{{sigh}}} 2.5/5
