BORAT THE MAGNIFICENT
80%
Yet another superb gutting of the inherent nastiness of White culture by the always-excellent Sacha Baron COHEN.
The people shown here almost all reveal that the inherent bigotry resulting from having no moral compass also leads to the gullibility which COHEN so expertly teases out. From Whites whom believe that CoViD-19 is a “Liberal Hoax”, to bakery-shop owners only too willing to write anti-Semitic messages on birthday cakes, to a man willing to sell cages to keep women in - along with the basic means of murdering as many gypsies as possible, efficiently.
Amid all the sexism and the racism here, there is a constant tension between Politics and Morality - as if the former were a substitute for the latter, when it can only lead to social conformity and not the development of a strong moral and individual character. They are both conflated in White culture to allow White people to persecute anyone they don’t like under the guise of democratic rights - as if democracy were, somehow, more moral than murder.
It is quite brave for anyone whom can pass as White to so effectively reveal why he would not wish to do so - for it would mean becoming like those he does not respect. The religious fundamentalists, the erotophobes and the superstitious inbreds are all comedy meat for COHEN to feed upon - and he does so with obvious relish.
Given that White people claim to be individualists and that Society does not, therefore, really exist; resulting in a lot of the self-centred behaviour on show here; one has to wonder if this movie is really a prediction of inevitable White cultural decline. If it is, then COHEN fans will be laughing heartily as it does so.
