Wow this brought back some meorys growing up in Cumbria in the 90’s passing all the fires it will be a smell i will never forget not a rancid smell more a unpleasant sweet smoke smell then there was all the disinfection mats on the roads between villages made of strawthis was around 97/98 in 2001 i was working on demmo’s through to 2005 and still using disinfectent on all equipment / waste leaving site. even now most farms still use disinfectent on entering.
