Gone in the Night (2022)
Birdsforme 1 points 1 year ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Very slow moving story. When it gets near the end and what is going on is finally revealed, I found it laughable.

Delicious (2021)
Birdsforme 1 points 1 year ago.

An unusual and very good story. Check it out if you are okay with reading subs. It is in French.

The Red Violin (1998)
Birdsforme 1 points 1 year ago.

A very good movie, but a sad one. The film is about the life of the violin.

The Orville (2017) S3 E9
Birdsforme 1 points 1 year ago.

In this episode{ new futuristic toys, a betrayal, an alliance, a rescue, a selfless act, and a loss.

Jack's Apocalypse (2016)
Birdsforme 2 points 1 year ago*. (Contains Spoilers)

As a “End of the world” film, this is awful. The contributing factors are a very low budget and a slow moving script. The actors do well with what they have to work with. But, what really makes the film suffer is that it is not about the end of the world at all. It’s about this guy`s struggle with addiction. So on top of watching a movie that is not good, I felt deceived. The end of the world was only in his head, while he overdoses.

The Anarchist's Birthday (2013)
Birdsforme 1 points 1 year ago.

Non professional actors in a low budget slow moving story that`s a made for tv film.

Love and Death on Long Island (1998)
Birdsforme 1 points 1 year ago.

very boring, and only a third of the screen actually shows the movie. A third on either side is black.

Farewell to the King (1989)
Birdsforme 2 points 1 year ago.

One of my favorite films with Nick Nolte. Worth a watch of you never saw it.

Kundun (1998)
Birdsforme 3 points 1 year ago.

Another worthy watch older film!

Black Mountain Side (2016)
Birdsforme 1 points 1 year ago.

Halfway through, I got bored. The description already said what was going to happen, so the whole movie is just watching these supposed professionals act like deranged idiots.

Adeline (2022)
Birdsforme 1 points 1 year ago.

Made for tv Hallmark type movie. Good for family night watching.

Between Waves (2021)
Birdsforme 2 points 1 year ago.

This film was very good and kept me guessing. Worth a watch if you have not seen it.

The Forgiven (2022)
Birdsforme 2 points 1 year ago. (Contains Spoilers)

This film portrays Americans and western Europeans in the worse light in this story. To go to another country for a party is a good example of wealth and boredom.During the party just about anything is acceptable. Ralph Fiennes plays a alcoholic without much interest or caring for anyone. By the end of the film all that has happened changes him, and in the ending scenes I believe there is forgiveness both from those he hurt and for himself.

The Old Man (2022) S1 E7
Birdsforme 2 points 1 year ago.

This episode explains a lot!

The Orville (2017) S3 E8
Birdsforme 1 points 1 year ago.

Well, Mr. McFarlane has done it again. He manages to write interesting episodes each time. This time, what starts out as a routine visit and pleasant party turns into a lifesaving race and a heartwarming reunion, along with a major change in government. Only one distresing item for me; our future earth and its lack of green and natural beauty. A surprise guest appearance in this episode was pleasant.

Fucking Ghosts (Short 2020) (2020)
Birdsforme 5 points 1 year ago.

Funny! I’d watch a full movie!

Big Fur (2020)
Birdsforme 0 points 1 year ago. (Contains Spoilers)

This was interesting in the parts that related to Big Foot and the art of recreating wildlife. However, thee was also a part of this documentary that talked about a mutual attraction between the main person and someone he mentored. Now, both of these people were married to other people and I would not like to find out my partner was interested in ending a marriage in a documentary. It was not only inappropriate, but a public betrayal to each of their spouses. This guy may be good at stuffing animals, but he is an awful example of a good human being.

Alienated (2021)
Birdsforme 1 points 1 year ago.

The script is not very good to begin with, but the actors make it worse. They don’t seem to know how to act. It sounds like they are reading their parts instead of speaking normally, and they exaggerate their characters rather than be them. IMDB was being extremely generous with their rating.

The Encounter at Boundless (Short 2021) (2021)
Birdsforme 1 points 1 year ago.

It was good. Wish it was a full length film.

The Little House (Short 1952) (1952)
Birdsforme 1 points 1 year ago.

Cute 8 minute short.

Where the Crawdads Sing (2022)
Birdsforme 1 points 1 year ago.

I read the book, and it was good.

The Eden Theory (2018)
Birdsforme 1 points 1 year ago.

This has got to be one of the most boring films I ever saw. Watching grass grow is more exciting. Extremely slow, uneventful, and the ending is no big deal. If you happen to see the poster for this movie (which I did, and the reason I watched), the poster is misleading. This has nothing to do with UFO`s and is not scifi. What a waste of time!

Black Bird (2022) S1 E3
Birdsforme 2 points 1 year ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Poor Jimmy! In a bad situation from all directions.

Goodnight, Mister Tom (1998)
torrac 3 points 1 year ago.

This a movie I haven’t see in 20yrs a heartfelt tale about about a Widower mister Tom who has to take a young boy William from London in to his village home as WW2 breaks loose and kids from London get moved to rural villages, superbly written and acted some very touching moments(John Thaw awesome) 10/10 for me.

Birdsforme 2 points 1 year ago.

I agree. It is a delightfully touching and wholesome movie.

The Old Man (2022) S1 E6
Birdsforme 3 points 1 year ago.

Every scene is so intense, and this episode has a few surprises.

The Orville (2017) S3 E7
Birdsforme 1 points 1 year ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Well that was a unique and interesting episode, and fun to watch. But, I am glad it won`t be a regular thing, especially Isac gushing words of love. Cute, but over the top.

Before the Rains (2008)
Birdsforme 1 points 1 year ago.

Visually dazzling, and the story is good. A beautiful servant has an affair with a British landowner while his family is away. Cultures clash and their are repercussions.

Siren (2013)
Birdsforme 1 points 1 year ago.

A few plot holes near the end, but overall a good story.

Black Bird (2022) S1 E1
Piglet 3 points 1 year ago.

Birdsforme, thanks for mentioning that this new series had started I almost forgot about it.

Birdsforme 2 points 1 year ago.

Black Bird (2022) S1 E2

This episode mostly setting up story for rest of the episodes.

Black Bird (2022) S1 E1
Birdsforme 3 points 1 year ago.

Brank new crime drama which just came out this past Friday. It`s not my usual type of show, but I enjoyed the pilot. Good actors, and I think writers also. There are two episodes available right now.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (2022) S1 E10
Birdsforme 2 points 1 year ago.

Since I will never have the ability to view my actions from different time perspective and can only speculate about the laws of time, I will never know how accurate these projections are. This episode, however does make for many thing to consider and speculate about; things I would not think about if it were not for this show. Many things that were science fiction of the past, are true today. So, who knows if these kind of dilemmas will actually come up in the future. Meanwhile, the ending gave a big view about what one of the next episodes will be about.

The Orville (2017) S3 E6
Birdsforme 1 points 1 year ago.

Funny moments in this episode, but such huge repercussions with the timeline. It made me sad. Very good episode.

The Old Man (2022) S1 E5
Birdsforme 2 points 1 year ago. (Contains Spoilers)

This episode, surprises and things revealed. Moments of super high intensity.

Crimes of the Future (2022)
Birdsforme 2 points 1 year ago.

I have watched some of Cronenberg`s films and liked them. This one made me feel like losing my lunch. somniloquist gave a good detailed review for those who want to try this film. I like watching Viggo Mortensen, but not in this.

The Book and the Rose (Short 2001)
Birdsforme 1 points 1 year ago.

30 minute short film done very well.

Westworld (2016)
Birdsforme 1 points 1 year ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I enjoyed season 3 when all the A I’d finally gained there independence and kicked some human behinds. In my way of thinking, they were the superior beings. In this season I was hoping to see them living their lives and enjoying their freedom. In episode 1 those of the group they showed, seemed rather sad. Delores, now Christine, acted insecure and indecisive. The fact that this whole new season is again going to be another battle with the controlling human crazies is extremely tiresome. I would think the writers of this series could come up with something more original this time around rather than the same old variation of the same theme. They would make super firefighters, boxers, sports athletes, rescue teams in extreme conditions. But no! Same old stuff. How very disappointing.

The Eclipse (2010)
Birdsforme 1 points 1 year ago.

I think this was a BBC made for tv film. The story was scattered in a few different directions, with none of them getting enough attention to call it good. The scary moments were scary and I jumped and yelped at least three time. I did not see any of them coming. Beyond that, it’s a story about a family who lost their wife-mother, an aging father in law, a author who writes about ghosts and a jeck who is giving her unwanted attention. The scary moment were good. I was being generous with a three star rating.

Westworld (2016) S4 E2
Birdsforme 1 points 1 year ago.

This episode: No one is playing nice, and the games are not much fun. I was expecting the other side to be in charge now.

Sleepless in Seattle (1993)
Birdsforme 1 points 1 year ago.

A Hanks and Ryan classic.

Hachi: A Dog's Tale (2009)
irdulili 2 points 1 year ago.

Japan is such an interesting place. There are no less than four statues built in Hachiko’s honor in Japan—including the one in what’s now called Hachiko Square in Shibuya District. There’s also a series of mini buses, multiple routes, called the “Hachiko Bus” that have a cartoon Akita on the side that shuttle people around the neighborhood.

And this isn’t the only heartwarming story about an eccentric animal with a mind of its own to come out of Japan. Back in the mid-late 90s fishermen from Kagoshima rescued an injured king penguin who was lost at sea and a LONG way from home. They took him home and set him up with a little backpack, took to calling him Lala and gave him his own air conditioned bedroom. He would wander around the neighborhood all by himself—his hosts would give him “pocket money”—and go to the fish market to buy fish. He lived a pretty long while and became a local celebrity before he died of old age. If this sounds vaguely familiar, this penguin went on to inspire the character Pen-Pen from Neon Genesis Evangelion.

What delightful information!

Hachi: A Dog's Tale (2009)

A must see for dog lovers or anyone who can understand how loyal a companion animal can be. Based on a true story

Seven Years in Tibet (1997)
Birdsforme 1 points 1 year ago.

Excellent! If you have not seen it, do give it a watch.

The Old Man (2022) S1 E4
Birdsforme 1 points 1 year ago.

Of course it’s good. Every episode has been excellent. Sophisticated and complicated situations done to perfection. I wanted from the end of last episode to the beginning of this one to find out something. Now, there are even more options and complications that ended this episode. Not really cliffhangers, but subtle progressions of an amazing show.

The Orville (2017) S3 E5
Birdsforme 1 points 1 year ago. (Contains Spoilers)

They really stepped up their game this season. A perfect episode for what one should and should not do with one`s children.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (2022) S1 E9
Birdsforme 4 points 1 year ago. (Contains Spoilers)

This episode had everything. A good fight, touching moments, some very sad and some very touching scenes.

The Wave (2015)
Birdsforme 3 points 1 year ago.

Very well done and realistic. Great acting. An edge of the seat movie worth the watch.

Tidal Wave (2009)
Birdsforme 1 points 1 year ago.

Dubbed and subs but not at all what they are saying. The link must have changed because there were no zombies in what I watched. Just an awful corny movie.

Explain , this is a really great show , and good acting ?
