There’s some truly lousy acting in this one, but in all fairness, the actors don’t have the best lines to work with. The whole thing seems like a grade B at best. Someone mentioned the 80s-style music score; it does harken back to John Carpenter’s material in a way. Be sure to stay for the after-credits bit.

Oh, good! Great nutty kaiju from back in the day! Love ol’ Gammera; also Mothra (interesting stories/movies involving that one), Ghidrah, and Rodan. Cannot leave out the king of them all—Gojirah! Btw not all kaiju were bad guys all the time.👩🏾😃 Thanks uploaders, please keep ‘em coming—-a little bit of fond old family memories.
So my first thought @ 17:20, “OMFG!!! PUT ON A MASK!!!” LMAO
I have persisted with this show well just because, I hope it’s paid off this season looks a bit more like it, speaking of likes does anyone see the resemblence between Virginia(Colbie Minifie)and GOT’S Ramsey(Iwan Rheon)
She sure does resemble him. Maybe their roots are from the same part of the world…? I also think she looks like actress Martha Plimpton in a way.
admittedly, this was pretty amusing but, all joking aside, collins has got to go
My neighbors must for sure think I’m crazy because I was screaming with laughter all through this LOL LOL LOL OMG
Good ol’ Spiro T. I think he was ranting about how mean the press was to him.
Ha. Ha HAHA! I like that! ‘Nattering Nabobs of negativism’. Excellent! Just wrote that one down and added it to a list I’m starting of good sayings I run into for future use. Hope you don’t mind being being plagiarized a bit for a good cause!
Someone in Nixon’s circle if memory serves; have seen it somewhere…
This has promise for being in the “So bad it’s awesome” category…with Danny Trejo, I’m hop;ing this movie will be “Machete: Apocalypse Now” or “Machete vs. the Pork Belly Futures” :)
Okay, “because we’re doing this live”, he decides to end Mayor Pete’s segment, as the mayor expounded on something serious—-only to make time for one of those goofy “Meanwhile…” bits. I like Colbert but nope, thumbs down on that.
Indeed! We have a lot in common! Very cool……grin. I miss our Uhtred son of Uhtred……….
Hahahaha so do I. I wonder if Beamfleot is under lockdown, too…?😆
Destiny is, as they say, all…….!
Absolutely! Respect the Wind is one of my all time favorites of his! After I saw the movie Twister, I went to find out what that song was etc etc! I also love Women in Love! The intro is pure EVH!
Great song. I also REALLY loved the one they played at the end of Twister, “Respect the Wind” - just…beyond gorgeous the way his guitar sobs and screams. RIP dear Eddie. Fabulous musician.
Loved this episode, as always, but there was one bit that didn’t make a lot of sense to me (well, the whole show is fantasy, but you get my meaning!) How in the world did the kid turn on his mother so quickly??? Homelander and Stormfront only had a few minutes alone with him, and up ‘til now the kid seemed to have a sensible head on his shoulders. Homelander crooks his little finger and the kid is ready to give up his entire life…?
Attention all Peaky Blinder fans, Cillian Murphy is in this movie from 2002! I’ll have to put this on my list to watch too.
I bet you’ll like this. Be sure to catch “28 Weeks Later” as well. Different cast, but fun.
Atmospheric 80s-vibe synth score notwithstanding, the general premise of this story was handled much better (and without a zillion annoying jump scares) by the Final Destination movies. I didn’t know anyone in the film, however the lead actor did his best to sell it. As per usual, there were some nonsensical decisions made along the way. We can say that about nearly all horror stories, it seems. And then it ended.
Oh boy.. gonna be a tough one to sit through, not because of the guests (looking forward to Bernie), but there’s a lady in the audience that laughs way too loud and way too often, i’m only 1:58 minutes in and starting to develop cringe cramps, hope she turns it down soon..
EDIT: The guests were good.
WOW yeah, I came here to say much the same thing! I know Bill, and others who do jokes for a living. really need and enjoy the feeling of having an engaged audience—-but those people, I guess many of them crewmembers and other workers on the show, are just so loud as to come across as artificial. That one person who goes WOOOO! at each and every punchline is the worst offender, so loud as to drown out much of what follows! I thought it was some guy but maybe it was a woman. So damn loud. 🙁
I enjoy crazy old fantasy “epics” like this, based on rollicking, wild fictional books and stories. Of course, given that this film is very old, the actors seem stilted, as was customary in the time period. In many scenes, it’s more of a stage-play than anything else. Great rousing score, though—-and I loved the fun dance scenes with those creative moves for males and females. If you’re an old-movie buff that enjoys things like The Invisible Ray, The (original) Mummy, La Belle et La Bête etc. then you might find some fun here (although the ones I just mentioned are far superior.) This is an early version of H. Rider Haggard’s story, and there have been lots of later film versions.
I’m with the others here. There was lots of action; the CGI was obvious but well-done, and some of the actors sold it, especially the children (as did the child in the original film.)
The story didn’t quite gut-punch like they wanted it to. IMO it drew on a few too many other things, like Thunderdome, World War Z, 28 Days/Weeks Later, Death Race Number-Anything-You-Pick-One…and on and on, instead of making its own way.
It wasn’t a bad film, it just wasn’t what I hoped for in a Busan sequel. Why not a bit more “origin” tale, and some more about the rest of civilization coping with things during the crisis?
This show is wickedly, deliciously demented! And getting worse every week!!😁
Part 1 of a Lifetime “Thrillogy”. The usual cute-but-nuts character, acted well by the lead baddie, who is (I guess?) someone we’ll see in more roles with Lifetime. Fine by me; they could use some new blood. On to parts 2 and 3……😊
Thank you, uploaders!!!! Just what I wanted to see once again! (This was the type of offering that “Black Mirror” would do, only many years earlier.)
Absolutely bizarre premise. I’ve never seen anything quite like this, and I don’t say that in a positive way. I love thrills, and chills, and original storytelling, but this one is just too peculiar to like, IMO. The McGuffin of the tale (which I will not spoil for you) is so crazy that even the acting talents (and deep sexy voice) of Stephen McHattie can’t save things. The nonsensical after-credits scene only further muddies the water.
I saw some very high ratings for this nutsiness over on IMDB…but I just feel like this is a case of the emperor having no clothes….🙄
I remember seeing this years ago, but had forgotten a lot of the story. It’s fun; has hints of Indiana Jones flicks, Aliens, and others. Every face in this cast is familiar, and they all delivered well, especially Kevin J. O’Connor, who gets some really funny one-liners off. Lots of gore FX and horrifying sights—-and let me give a special tip of the hat to the sound dept. With my headphones on, it was truly like sitting 12 rows back in a Dolby theatre.
Passable, but just barely. Even the great Ennio Morricone’s score didn’t help here. It just didn’t match the scenes at all (and this is from a big fan of the late Morricone). Question for anyone who views this: What happened in the end to the little Arab body-slave of the prince? I thought he was freed and would return to the USA with the others, but I didn’t see….? Please message me if you see something I missed there.
Although I had seen the series when it was first on, somehow I never saw this movie. Reviewers on IMDB seem to almost universally hate it, but the plot kept me interested throughout. It wasn’t terrible, it was just…quite different…from the original series. There were vibes of Robocop, Demolition Man & others about the story, and a neat musical score by none other than Jan Hammer, which took me back to the Miami Vice days and added a lot of charm to things here. Added bonus points given for the San Antonio locale. Enjoy!
This movie is both entertaining and important. A movie that teaches us and pulls at the heart strings as well. Even if it were not a true story, it makes for great entertainment, making it doubly wonderful that it is a true story.
Thanks for the review. I’ll watch. I’m fascinated to be able to see something from the indigenous people. I, and maybe others, know very little of them.
Another cheese-laden offering from The Asylum. All I wanna say is, how come in nearly every one of today’s movies and shows, smartphones are involved in some crucial way in the plot, moving the action along? People are ALWAYS yakking on the damn things—-except when the melodrama calls for the phones to suddenly, uselessly be “out of signal range” OR suffer from “my-battery-is-too-low” disease? It’s such a tiresome trope.
Great oldie; brings back lots of memories of TV time with family. I love how crisp the (I’m assuming remastered) film quality is, as well as the sound. Thank you, uploaders:-)
Nonsensical behavior, especially toward the end, takes a lot of the fun out of things (and that’s saying something for a nutty Lifetime movie). There’s such a thing as too dumb to live—-and this flick has several such characters nauseatingly afflicted. And let’s not even mention some major loose ends…
Don’t blame you watching these old farts getting around with their walkers and mobility scooters well worth the watch, nearly as funny as seeing Dame Judi Dench in that green bodysuit in Artemis Fowl.
Hey, age ain’t nuthin’ but a number——-a very big number. LOL LOL (cackled the old lady!)😉
Agree but I think the title could be re done though, perhaps Heavens MIA, or the Walking Frame Crew, or Escape from Coffin perhaps, Over Embalmed the Wrinkle.
LOL whatever this silliness turns out to be, I can’t pass it up!😄
Exciting “origin story” of the wily lawyer. He’s found his calling, his skillset, his niche—-and has found his ride-or-die crew as well. Good show, very evocative of the early 30s, with great costumes and sets. I liked it more than I first thought I would, and am really hopeful that the (planned) second season can in fact occur, what with COVID in the mix.
Great episode on why teaching true american history is important, as painful as it may be. I hope it opens the eyes of those who dont believe systemic racism is real and still effects people to this day.
The first DBS will always e one of my faves, but this one wasn’t too bad…better than the second imo which was much more lower budget..the sharks in this looked pretty darn good! Good for a one time watch, i give this a 7/10. Just a good ole romp ‘n chomp flick lol.
That’s accurate, IMO. It wasn’t bad; for sure the film could’ve been worse. The scenes looked good and scary, even though the story itself was a little silly. All shark movies are, however. LOL
*This movie had the (big) added attraction of Bren Foster; he’s a hot-looking number I know from “The Last Ship”. He’s one of those watch-with-the-sound-turned-down-and-still-enjoy sort of guys. 😉
Well I sure hope there’s a sequel, because that ending just BEGS for some follow-up! I liked the tale, and Scott Adkins is always fun to watch, with his beauty and his jaw-dropping martial-arts skills. And, I always like getting a glimpse of other lands, so it was great seeing some views of Ho Chi Minh City.
That nano tech idea is really showing up a lot in sci-fi films. This particular movie is the kind you used to see action star Mark Dacascos doing all the time. I only knew a couple of faces here. The acting wasn’t much, but it was nice to see some of Thailand as well as hear a bit of dialogue in their interesting language. Great big world out there…:-)
Decent enough time-waster.
Talk about a major fucking case of groundhog day =D
I hope they don’t actually kill off the robot dude, I actually like him.
I was kind of hoping he might be ok after their last time jump, but I do believe he was correct about this being their last mission. I think this series is finally coming to a close. It’s been a wild ride and I hope I’m wrong but it “fits”
You mean Enoch? I like him a lot, too. I still have to see this ep, but I agree with you that things sure got wild on this show. Always a ton of action. There’s been some very creative writing over the years:)
I am soooo ready for the new season! It looks exciting. I had no hopes of seeing any new seasons of anything for the foreseeable future. Guess this show was all in the can before the pandemic…then again, Australia is also returning to something like normal now that they’ve gotten a workable handle on it there. Happy for them!
This one kept me watching, but I had a hard time really pulling for any of the characters most of the time. I suppose that was deliberately acted and directed that way, to give us a feel for the irritation they endured due to being stuck inside an ice-cold station for months with the same group of strangers. Also, there are so many flashbacks that quickly and suddenly switch to real-time scenes that it might have you scratching your head unless you binge the show in a sitting or two to keep the causes/effects straight. Finally, the conclusion rushed forward, feeling like it was being hurried along because so much valuable time had been spent dwelling on inane character interactions in earlier episodes. The show IS watchable, but IMO it could have been better.
Ugh, why is this still a thing? Guys and their love of flashy cars and stunts even God Himself would find redundant and ridiculous. Least it should be the end of this mess.
I dunno—I’m female and I admit to loving all sorts of mindless things I shouldn’t, and despising girly “romcoms” that I should. Oh well. I just like to sometimes pop out my eyes, set ‘em in front of the screen, and watch the crazy car-fu while my brain skips happily away to do other things requiring more reason and thought.(ʘ‿ʘ)
Thanks to all uploaders who handled that issue here of incorrect episodes for these links. Very grateful for that! The series is a good one for students of the topic, with excellent, unobtrusive narration plus spot-on commentary offered by historians and experts. I was most impressed that, in every episode, there were a couple of facts that were new to me—-and that is always a pleasant surprise for longtime students of any subject they’ve been involved with for like forever. Well done.🙂
I KNOW I have seen this very plot in a Lifetime movie with other actors—-and in that one, the child was a girl. It wasn’t a very old movie, either. I don’t remember the name….
Fun fun fun 80s horror flick with gore thrown in. Has Wes Craven’s imprint all over it, which is a good thing, as fans know. 😊 They just don’t make ‘em like this anymore.
IMO this was a kind of a miss. The IDEA was interesting, but there wasn’t enough story there to tie it all together. Instead of solid plot (and just as importantly, character) development, the film played it just a little too cute with the “what’s in my mind” stuff. It all devolved toward the end, where a lot of highly improbable scenes, which I won’t spoil, made us doubt events we’d been witness to earlier. The conclusion left a lot of questions the viewer would like to have had answered.
Michael Ironside. Yeah, gotta watch, for him. There are some career baddies that I simply can’t pass by no matter what the picture is:)
