It could of been compelling but instead of a developing intriguing story line to binge-watch its 30 min self contained episodes with infantile comic book dialogue/ no character development/ no real plot and deus ex machina after deus ex machina and is just 10 minutes setup 20 mins of childish comic book violence and a happy ending in a cartoon format .This is for 9 olds and should of been on network TV Saturday mornings to sell cereal.

As much as season 2 is great and i like it being set in interment camps their is a million period pieces about WW2 and i was really hoping they would stick with gritty beautiful portrayal of 18th century like in season 1 we rarely get to see

I watched the first 4 episodes. I like it. It’s based on the series from Norway called Valkyrien staring Sven Nordin which was excellent… I had heard there was a British retelling in the works, so far it does the original justice
i was just about to write the same thing but you beat me to it ! (ps i remember the alcoholic episode from the Norwegian series(this one is totally different) that inspired me to get a prescription for a drug that makes you ill (not kill you ) when you consume alcohol that really helped me stop 20 years of drinking like a chef, so that show always had a soft spot in my heart )

Steven Fry is the funniest most compassionate witty clever genius,Its well worth looking up the documentaries he’s done about depression and his documentary abut gay rights in intolerant countries (i think you can find them on primewire ?)…..as well google his academic debates he’s done against religion and specifically Catholicism with his debating partners the equally genius Christoper Hitchens and Richard Dawkins. every single character is an emotionally stunted unsympathetic piece of human garbage prone to minimum 3 tantrums each per episode. You hate them all so much you want to see them fail or hope one of them gets murdered for satisfaction and to see anything happen . The writers try too hard to try and make something so plot less and mundane artificially dramatic. How did this get 4 seasons on AMC ??? who found this entertaining ?? Mad Men was boring but at least it had multi dimensional fascinating characters that have arcs….these people are just selfish assholes that stay selfish assholes.
