Excellent Writing and Cast. Another all star performance. I really hope they do a Season 3 of this series because things are not completely “wrapped up” yet!

This movie was a real treat. Inspiring and wholesome with some great characters! Tater Salad (Ron White) as the Sheriff was HILARIOUS.

Being a crime history buff I was familiar with the LAPD Rampart scandal and man was my mind blown when all the dots started being connected between that case and the BIG murder. The writers (and Poole) did a fantastic job of presenting a very layered, detailed case of high level police corruption and the proceeding cover up. Depp did a bang-up job as usual.

I watch this movie a few times a year as a reminder of what it means to be “True to Thyself”. It’s Heartfelt, funny, sad and most of all, Honest.

An excellent old school who-dunnit filmed in Beautiful Galway Ireland.

Two of Wahlberg’s best sports movies are based on amazing true stories: Micky Ward the Boxer and Vince Papale the Football Player (Invincible). Bale and Wahlberg are amazing in this film as it chronicles the early career of “Irish” Micky Ward.

Along with War Witch and Beast of No Nation this is one of the best movies about African Child Soldiers ever done. Realistic, Gritty and Unflinching.

Another 2021 UK crime series based on an actual case that could be filed under “meh”. Algar and Marsan were OK but the writing and overall pacing were borderline terrible. Another cautionary tale of “tunnel vision” police work.

For those of you like me that felt like Season 1 was incomplete, Season Two starts off with some hopeful clues. Once you get used to the writing of this series it grows on you.

Superb ending to a well written tale of corruption, murder, survival and maybe a measure of justice too. Peter Mullan is such a damn fine actor, really wish he could have had a bigger part in this one.

All in all I can’t say the series was fantastic. Stylistically it was really well done, but the writing and characters were just all over the place with not much to invest in. Let’s see if Season 2 improves.

Really well done atmospheric Cold War slow and methodical murder mystery with a lot of political rabbit trails.You have to pay attention with this one, don’t say I did not warn you.

I’m here because of Val Kilmer’s new Doc, Val. I thought I would re-visit some of his movies I have not seen in a while.

Although this film was a hot mess from beginning to end behind the scenes (Watch the Doc Lost Soul for the real scoop) I actually liked the story and the characters, a modern take on the HG Wells Classic.

A great story set around the Great War.

I felt like this was Val’s Swan song to his fans..it was sad but in a way it was also a celebration of a truly gifted actor and artist.

An oldie but goodie from Sidney Lumet, I must have watched this gritty corrupt cop caper over a dozen times over the years. It is Based on the book by the former Supreme Court Justice of Manhattan, Edwin Torres, who also wrote Carlito’s Way. Nolte and Assante are powerful in this one.

Really well done series. The writers did a good job of digging into a lot of the legit businesses, some of which are still open to this day that helped wash the billions in coke money that built modern Miami.

Great Modern Crime Documentary. None of this would have been possible without Ross Ulbricht and The Silk Road. The only snag was getting busted. 🥴️

I love this series for the simple fact it shows that a person with disabilities can live a normal, happy, funny life too!

One of the many legacies of James Gandolfini will be his devotion and love for the Wounded veterans. Great Documentary. I was lucky enough to meet him and shake his hand when he came to Walter Reed. An amazing human being.

Based very loosely on the story of the Cali Cartel, this is Nowhere near the quality of writing or acting as Narcos but if you like Mexican/South American Drug Kingpin telenovella melodramas, you might like this one.

Bosch Season 6 Ep. 5 Brought me here.
One of the best cast for a western since the Wild Bunch.

A dark, sordid tale of corruption and murder that is coming along nicely. The acting is really top notch. Stephen Graham adds a touch of class and professionalism to any role he plays and although I typically don’t care for Colin Farrell, he is one menacing, evil MF in this one!

Sharp little cold war Brit series. I remember when it first came out so it’s worth watching.

Rewatching all seasons of Bosch since there seems to be nothing else to watch.

Greatest line of Bosch up to this point “I didn’t buy this house for the view I bought it because there is only one way in and out.” Classic Bosch.

Authentic Cold War series; they nailed the drab iron curtain feel. The writing and characters are a bit complex and combined with the jumping timeline this is definitely one you need to pay attention or you will get lost fast.

Awesome Doc. We need more stuff like this.

I watch this a couple times a year. Based on The Quinessential L.A. Noir Novel, Hands down it is the Best James Ellroy adaptation ever made.
