It’s gonna be pretty hard to add tonight’s episode here given that the list stops last week….

Blue Bloods (2010) S14 E1
YELLOWbird 1 points 1 month ago.

Friday nights will not be the same…
“Despite the cast and producers agreeing to salary reductions to sustain the show, it appears the understanding was that Season 14 would mark the end of the series. While not officially confirmed by CBS or the cast, these financial constraints likely played a pivotal role in the conclusion of Blue Bloods.” February, 2024

expresso 1 points 1 month ago.

Unfortunately, they’re all pretty expensive. NCIS has figured out the formula, keep working through and replacing ‘em with lesser known actors.

Constellation (2024) S1 E4
Lazeistheman2 3 points 1 month ago.

At this rate their will be a 100% chance of no season 2. The episodes are being made out of place. Story is confusing and no one knows what’s going on really. Its laughable. The potential in this show is very good but is currently being run by what it seems to be, 8 year old’s.

expresso 7 points 1 month ago.

Given the way Apple+ has renewed Invasion 2 times, I wouldn’t count on it ;)

Wanted some espionage so I came back to binge this. Super classic no nonsense tight paced spy stuff.

I still don’t know what’s going on and I love it.

Poker Face (2023)
ThinMan 1 points 1 month ago.

We watched all the episodes. We fell in love with the first episode, and then it went to an incredibly predictable and almost star-fanning mode of centering on Natasha Lyonne in almost a jokey-hokey manner. Others have adored it, so this is just our opinion, not a criticism of anyone. (PS - LOVE Columbo, but I do not see the similarities at all.)

You took the words right out of my mouth. All those things.

Shōgun (2024)

Hiroyuki Sanada is one of my top 10 favorite actors and he’s getting a lot of great roles, this one too

Interesting cast

In the Flesh (2013)
Brutus 2 points 6 months ago*.

I did a little research on it was due to budget cuts since at the time of the show, BBC Three changed from a live broadcast channel to an online-only channel for a little while until eventually they changed back to a live broadcast channel.

The writer of the show started a gofundme last year to try and get a third season or a special episode released. I don’t have much hope for that, but worse shows have been revived.

expresso 2 points 1 month ago.

That would be cool. I can totally see Netflix picking this up.

The Returned (2013)
expresso 4 points 1 month ago.

@ThinMan there’s an excellent UK series along the same plot lines called In The Flesh, highly recommend. It’s a 5/5

And a few more notable actors…… Norman Reedus, Michael Shannon, Boyd Holbrook. I could see Norman Reedus as a biker in real life too.

He is a biker in real life, he has a whole show about being a biker :D

Every now and then I remember that Alan Tudyk is not an alien, he’s that good. This is the funniest episode since the first season!

reminds me of when they confirmed the higgsboson but there was a moment when we thought there might have to be a new physics and we were all holding our breath, but then they confirmed the higgs boson.. i guess they figured something about dark gravity or something afterwards.

expresso 2 points 1 month ago.

I remember when they were doing Higgs Boson at CERN, there were people that were saying that there was a possibility that it could generate a black hole but ‘nothing to worry about, it would be very small’ 😆 There was a great podcast this summer on Radiolab where they discussed whether the Tunguska event was a small black hole that hit the Earth, first I had heard of that. Amazing. That’s an all encompassing review. Noomi carries the entire show, but seeing Jonathan Banks beyond Better Call Saul is astronomical.

expresso 2 points 1 month ago.

Noomi is Noomi, she’s always great, but here I’m on Team Jonathan and Team Barbara Sukowa, because they have the most interesting character arcs so far. He was brilliant as Mike Ehrmantraut and I’ve binged 12 Monkeys 3 times.

If you haven’t yet, watch Lamb - another great one with Noomi, also set in the far north. Classic folk horror, I thought it was unfairly panned.

Researcher 5 points 1 month ago. (Contains Spoilers)

When it comes to playing scientific roles, Barbara Sukowa is the best! This type of film shouldn’t exist without her participation. Best remembered from the TV series “12 Monkeys.” Weird ‘cause with the accent, you’d expect her to be the evil scientist but, when I see her, I feel that everything is under control. Of course, this was only minutes into the 1st episode so, we shall see!

expresso 4 points 1 month ago.

Love her and loved 12 Monkeys - I have binged that show at least three times.

Paying him to quit wouldn’t be bribery.

expresso 5 points 1 month ago.

Confirm that. John Oliver does not have matters before the court. Harlan Crow and all the others who shower gifts on Thomas, routinely have matters directly before the court. They are guilty of at least circumstantial bribery. People get paid to retire from jobs all the time (“golden parachute”). Depends on the specific terms of that agreement, but legal.

It is unbeliveable. Million times better than the mediocre action movie it shares its name with. And it has absolutely nothing to do with that forgettable movie. Actually if I had to compare it to anything, it would be Killing Eve. Maya Erskine should be a A-lister movie star. She is that good.
