Dead Still (2020) S1 E6
Shade_Chylde 1 points 3 years ago*.

THIS was a show I truly enjoyed, and when I came back to watch the last 3 episodes, I saw that it was listed as “ended”. In the age of “Chrisely Knows Best” and stupidassed “Jersey Shore” spinoffs, it’s a DAMNED sad thing to see a show like this slip under the waves without a gasp after a single season… :(

PonderThis 2 points 3 years ago.

The series had been branded as a mini-series but although season 1 reveals the killer, there’s a lot more to be explored. Moreover, the show opened to good reviews from fans. Therefore, in spite of being a limited series, it holds the scope to span another season. If Acorn decides to bring back the show with a new edition, we can expect ‘Dead Still’ season 2 to premiere sometime in 2021…..keep those fingers crossed!

The Sea Wolves (1980)
PonderThis 2 points 3 years ago.

I have a passion for WWII movies and most of the WWII movies made in the late 20th to 21st century are rather good. You can count on authentic costumes and hairstyles for both men and women. Every detail is spot on to fit the era. But I can’t say that about WWII movies made in the 60’s, 70’s, and into the early 90’s. Case in point with this movie. The women were wearing long hair, not really how women wore their hair in the late 30’s & 40’s. Lipstick colors were wrong as well as the nail polish. Even the clothes the women wore was not right either. I could go on and on but if you’re going to make a time period movie then why not make it look like it takes place during WWII?! All of the actors were great in the movie, it was just the continuity was so, so wrong!

Buck Rogers in the 25th Century (1979)
PonderThis 2 points 3 years ago*.

Of course I have a soft spot for Gil Gerard because he’s from my home state. I, too, watched this tv series and it was okay for the time. They didn’t have CGI or many of the other technologies that are used now to create spectacular images. Thanks to the success of Star Wars, a whole new type of drama was created but I feel it started with the original Star Trek series of the mid 1960’s. Gene Roddenberry was influenced by what to create this unique space drama? Man hadn’t landed on the moon yet and the cartoon The Jetsons hit the tv airwaves in 1962. Wouldn’t it be funny if Gene was inspired by the cartoon the Jetsons? I won’t mention Lost In Space….even though I watched it, it is so laughable now but look at what these shows did, it inspired production companies to create better space travel dramas and inspired so many to look up at the stars and daydream about what is out there in the deep corners of the universe!

Fearless (2017)
greyfur -1 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

What the hell happened to all the links to this? There were links to every episode, several of them, a day or so ago, found this, checked the first episode, few minutes of it, found it was in English, decided to stash it for later to see if it was any good, come back and all the links were gone? WTF?

PonderThis 2 points 3 years ago.

I too noticed this drama and saw that it is out of France and I wasn’t sure if I wanted to watch it with subtitles. It does seem odd that the links disappeared. But, the links could have been for a British drama with the same title, “Fearless” which I’ve watched. It has happened before and recently too. Someone put up links for The Fugitive and those links were for the old 1960’s tv drama and not the 2020 version.

Yellowstone (2018) S3 E6
PonderThis 2 points 3 years ago*.

Okay, I did some research and this episode did end 7-8 minutes early and I like so many others thought we all got ripped off. And the trailers said 4 more episodes? Really, I see only 8 listed. Anyway, love this modern day western and Kevin’s acting has become top notch too! But I fear season 4 will be it for this fine drama! Why does me think that this will be Beth’s last season? Hope not, I disliked her in season 1 but she proved that she can work the system to her advantage and the Ranch. But, she may have gone to far this time! Rip might not be able to save her.

1944 (2015)
PonderThis 2 points 3 years ago.

I knew WWI was fought in the trenches but didn’t realize that some of WWII was also fought in trenches. I guess there was proof from WWI that they do work to a certain point. I’ve just started the movie and I’m not keen on subtitles but might give this one a go.

The Head (2020) S1 E6
PonderThis 2 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Around the 3rd episode I thought to myself, she is Sarah’s daughter and I was right! I was thinking as I was watching this episode, I really didn’t think Arthur poked the hole in the fuel line. I’m still not sure why Ramon came after her and did he know she and Aki found the photos and is that why? Good drama with just enough scary parts to keep you on the edge of your seat. Clever girl how she set Arthur up too!

The Commander: Abduction (2008)
PonderThis 2 points 3 years ago*.

First thing is, I know how to request links and there seems to be a bit of a backlog on request. Nothing against the uploaders, I know you’re doing a great job. It hasn’t been easy getting the video library “restocked” after the site went down for several months about 2 years ago. I found season 5 on hoopla through my local library. I thought I was never gonna find season 5. Yet, if season 5 is anything like season 4, I may not want to watch it. The writing went way way down and not intense as it was in the first 3 seasons. It has been a good series thus far and I always enjoy British crime dramas.

Mortal Engines (2018)
PonderThis 2 points 3 years ago*.

This movie had me hooked in the very first scene! How clever! A roll-up city! Very creative mind behind this movie indeed! I do believe Hugo Weaving will always be typecast as an evil villain! I don’t think I’ve ever seen him play none other than a villain. I agree that this movie is like a Mad Max movie on steroids! Could there be a follow up movie? I hope so! Like how Shrike became to be a stalker and who is Hester’s father. I’ve never heard of this movie and it reportedly flopped at the box office losing 100 million…..which means no Mortal Engines II….deep sad sigh goes here

McFarland, USA (2015)
PonderThis 2 points 3 years ago.

I liked this movie and I had not heard about this movie even though it was released 5 years ago. Does it rank right up there with Field of Dreams or Bull Durham and other sports related movies he’s done? I’d say yes even though this high school cross country track team never made the national headlines, it’s still a great story that happens to be true. If you’re in need of a feel good movie, then this is the one to watch.

Wanted (2016)
PonderThis 2 points 3 years ago.

This is a really good little drama! Rebecca Gibney is unbelievable in this and so unlike the characters she usually plays. And you’re thinking how do I know this since there are no links? Watching on another website. I know it will take a very, very long time for the uploaders to download the seasons. I know a lot of request have/will be made and I understand it can’t be added overnight. I do appreciate the work that they do! I was lucky enough to find it elsewhere.

Bergerac (1981)

I’m enjoying this, too. It’s fun to see John Nettles and Annette Badland in earlier roles. Not to mention the Guest Stars, who are actors of some renown now.

PonderThis 2 points 2 years ago.

Annette left the show I think in season 4 and of course no reason was given. Annette did pop up as a guest star on the new British drama Whitstable Pearl. If you’ve not watched, give it a go.

Britannia (2018) S2 E2
[email protected] 2 points 3 years ago.

could do without all the modern music throughout. It’s quite annoying and distracts from the story.

PonderThis 2 points 3 years ago*.

I agree and during the 1st season there wasn’t modern music playing during the scenes. If you know anything about music from the 1960’s and what some young people experimented in/with, you might think of it this way. LSD and “magic mushrooms” would make people hallucinate on them. I sometimes see these episodes as one huge “trip” and we get to see what that hallucinogenic trip is like through the eyes of the characters. And what better music than music from the 1960’s that might have been inspired/written while on one of those “trips”. I was a grade school kid in the 1960’s and I loved the music from that decade and of course I really didn’t know what the lyrics really meant, I just liked the beat….😛😎

This is by far Stana Katic’s best tv series to date! Beats that silly tv show Castle! If you’ve not seen this drama, you might want to binge watch it and since there are 3 seasons, it may take you awhile to watch each season, but well worth the time!

Made in Auschwitz: The Untold Story of Block 10 (2019)
Themoo 11 points 3 years ago.

Europeans are already well aware of it. We’ve had school outings to Auschwitz to get a guided tour in painstaking detail of the horrors that happened there before even hitting the teens - of what happens when far right wing politics, fascism, is left unfettered. The end result of an elected leader who alienated allied nations, spoke of walls, promised to solve all the problems and then blamed such on minorities. Who stoked fear, hatred and division within his own nation.

That kind of history is already repeating.

Emergence (2019) S1 E1
PonderThis 2 points 4 years ago.

The lead actress is a little green but maybe with a few more episodes her acting will improve. I like the concept of this new drama but I’ve seen it before. But this time around the special affects are better and like LivyWags89, I hope ABC won’t cancel it. It is refreshing to see that the lead actress looks like many women! Not some size “0” model type, but a women that many of us can relate too!

Emily VanCamp had asked to be released from her contract due to being pregnant. Hence her departure and she was one reason I watched this drama, but not sure how it will proceed without her. The first 2 episodes of this season seemed okay without her thus far and we shall see.

I’ve been curious about Cole Hauser since I’ve been watching Yellowstone. I found him here on another drama and decided to google him. To my great surprise his dad is Wings Hauser and Wings was on the soap opera The Young and the Restless and that is where I first saw Wings (telling my age aren’t I?). Wings has been in many movies and tv shows and it looks like Cole has become a fine actor just like his dad. Now I see a strong resemblance to his dad and I kept thinking he looked like someone from tv or the movies!

It shouldn’t be called a tv show… It’s more a radioshow or podcast. No reason to watch.. There is nothing to watch… Really crappy…

PonderThis 2 points 3 years ago.

I’ve not listened to any and probably won’t. But the description reminds me of radio mysteries and the BBC has some really good ones on YouTube. Some go back to the 1930’s. Back when the only type of entertainment was going to a theater to watch a movie, or listen to the radio or gasp……read a book.

Yellowstone (2018) S4 E5
PonderThis 2 points 2 years ago.

I haven’t finished watching this episode, but man that opening scene was powerful! Beth’s comment about the good die young made me smile and what she said described her totally! I watched Kevin in his first movie back in the early 1980’s and thought, “Man, this guy can’t act but he sure is good to look at.” Thankfully his acting as gotten so much better over the years and I think tv is a better fit for him.

Yellowstone (2018) S4 E10
PonderThis 2 points 2 years ago.

I’m a child of the 1960’s and my daddy loved the tv western Gunsmoke and we watched it every week. One of his favorite characters was “Festus” played by Ken Curtis. He was in his 50’s and was no spring chicken when he was cast as “Festus”. If you’re familiar with Gunsmoke and have watched it, I think Ryan Bingham who plays “Walker” in Yellowstone looks like a younger version of Ken Curtis, aka, “Festus”. Google Gunsmoke and take a look at Ken Curtis’ picture….maybe it’s just me who thinks this. Both were/are fine actors.

Dexter: New Blood (2021) S1 E7
RaptorsNineFive 2 points 2 years ago.

It’s humorous to me so many peoople watching stuff today have never experienced the “oh sh*t! what was that? I gotta wait a week!” feeling. Some of the best memories I have are of that type of format & some are recent! Dexter put people on the edge of their seat quite often from 2006-2013.

PonderThis 2 points 2 years ago.

Are you of the age who might remember reruns? If you missed an episode, you could watch it in the summer months as a rerun. Then the VCR came along and you could record a show if you weren’t home and watch it later. Than websites as this one came along and the rest is history. None of this mid-season replacements shows either, shows had up to 20 episodes in one season.

The Flight Attendant (2020)
UGuess 1 points 3 years ago.

LOL I totally understand. I actually do that alot to see if it’s worth my time investing for the entire thing. TBH I’d like to see a 2nd season though I wouldn’t know where they’d go with it. But I’d really like to hear your take on it AFTER you finish watching all, if you do (if you don’t mind). IMO it was better/different than most crap out here think that’s what kept me. Happy Tuning

PonderThis 2 points 3 years ago.

I’m not sure what the actual ratings were for this show, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a 2nd season. Kinda like a ditzy blond sleuth is what she is and if she stops with the constant you know what every time she faces a crisis, I might watch a 2nd season. But, the writers need to improve her character, being dumb, doing dumb things, saying dumb things. I mean who does those things in real life? I do think she’s and okay actress and stereo type casting is always at play with certain actors/actresses and I think she falls into that category. Are we really going to like her acting when she tries to play a serious character and would she make it believable? There are a lot of better shows to watch and I may or may not watch it if there is another season.

Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector (2020) S1 E1
PonderThis 2 points 4 years ago.

So far I like what I see and Russell Hornsby (from the drama Grimm)needs to work on his portrayal of the character or the writers need to step it up a bit. I do recognize some actors in this new series from other tv dramas; Tate Ellington was in Quantico and The Brave. Good character actor. The always menacing Irish actor Brían Francis O’Byrne who was in the drama “The Last Ship” and O’Byrne has always played the perfect bad guy. I’ve watched him in a lot of BBC and itv dramas and he can pull off any type of character thrown at him. And of course everyone’s favorite mob guy Michael Imperioli from the Soprano’s. It will be interesting to see this drama develop.

Good actor, yes. 007 ummmm NO! NO! NO! lol

PonderThis 2 points 3 years ago.

Well, I’m torn on his being Bond. I didn’t care for Roger Moore as Bond and I think Norton falls into that same category! Moore wasn’t tough enough or should I say, didn’t look the part to play Bond. Daniel Craig has that steely look as did Sean Connery. Norton seems like the “playboy” type. Don’t get me wrong, he is a good actor but doesn’t have that overall look about him to pull of Bond, James Bond……

Me too! I was so addicted to my SOA! But sadly this show has already been cancelled I found out last night. I was glad to find something of quality to watch but then they go and cancel it. Shaking my head~

PonderThis 2 points 2 years ago.

As the last episode ended I was thinking how well everyone worked together and there was chemistry among the actors. Sometimes Katey’s character got on my nerves but overall, it was a great show. I was looking forward to another season! I hate it that it was given only one season and sometimes one season isn’t enough to see how it will do in the ratings. I’m very disappointed in ABC for canceling Rebel!I just read an article and fans of the show started calling out ABC for canceling Rebel and sometimes the fan base has managed to change a networks mind and lets hope this will happen again.

Season one was finding the killer of young boys which was hard to watch. But, I’m not sure if I can take season 2 after watching episode one. Another dark season it looks like and yes, it is for affect but I find myself in a bit of a mind numbing wrecked state of mind after watching this episode. I’ll give episode 2 ago and see how I feel once it is over.

Here is what I found……It seems that there’s been no talk about his potential departure from the show, but there are several signs indicating that he could be about to leave New Amsterdam. Anupam left New York for Mumbai, India, in the spring of 2020, as per The Hindu. It’s uncertain if the actor chose to stay in India or if he made plans to return to the U.S. yet.

Agreed. Writing and acting was amazing. Shows like this get dropped and the Alienist hangs around, because those characters are more foregiveable. They’re more palatable. These characters are too flawed and real, and unlike Deadwood and some others of this caliber, it’s very very dark. I’m a nerd and as a child I had very old relatives who lived at the turn of the century. I think a lot about what the world was like before technology so I can’t get enough.
