I didn’t know James Burton had released a solo album in the early 70s, but I kept waiting to hear Elvis start in everytime they played Polk Salad Annie. This was a good movie. Josh Lucas usually plays a nice person, but he sure made me dislike his character here. Thank you, uploaders.

really looking foward to seeing this but I’m gonna wait on a better copy. If you liked this, true stories and asshole characters then you should check out Rush a F1 biopic about Niki Lauda and James Hunt and has terrific acting all around.

Ditzygypsy 0 points 4 years ago.

I thought Rush was great, too, and I didn’t care for Daniel Brühl until I watched him in that. They both did a good job, but he was fantastic. I’m not a race fan, but I love biopics.

This looks a thousand times better than “See”

Ditzygypsy 3 points 4 years ago.

See is so bad, lol. Much of it was filmed here, so I was looking forward to it, but, it’s awful.

I wish I had seen your comment before I started wasting minutes of my life on this utter garbage. So bad.

The Box (2009)

What a stupid, stupid movie. Don’t waste your time. It’s absurd and awful. Just awful.

The Mummy (2017)
Ditzygypsy 2 points 4 years ago.

This might’ve been ok…if tiny Tommy Cruise the Scientology whackjob with the giant ego wasn’t in it. He’s awful. Russell Crowe is not as good as he can be, but he’s ok, and Annabelle Wallis is just annoying and in way too many things lately. She also needs to eat a good meal or something.

Les Misérables (2012)

Almost no one in this movie has any business singing, but then, that’s what Broadway is all about. Could’ve been good if they had acted. Like actors.

A Beautiful Mind (2002)
Ditzygypsy 1 points 4 years ago.

I love this movie. Sadly, both John Forbes Nash Jr. and Alicia Nash were killed in a car accident while riding in a cab on the crappy NJ Turnpike in May 2015 after getting back from Norway where John had been awarded the Abel Prize. They had gotten divorced in the early 60s (which isn’t in the movie, although, the turmoil from his illness is obvious), and then remarried again in 2000 or 2001. This is a beautiful movie, and if you don’t know the story, it’ll be a surprise to learn what is really going on. Thank you, uploaders. When I used to have a DVD player and owned physical DVDs, I owned this movie. I like to watch it about once a year.

The List (2007)

This is a stupid, awful movie. I’m a Christian and I was insulted and disgusted…by the story and the acting. Seriously terrible.

It’s an English doc, but there’s a lot of Chinese in it and no hard-coded subs.

The Stranger (2010)
Ditzygypsy 3 points 4 years ago.

Quite a bit of this was filmed outside at my family’s antique car restoration/auto body shop in Mission, BC in the summer of 2009. The -real- homeless people were eyeing all the clothes, tents, and blankets the set design crew had bought and set up as a homeless camp around the outside of the shop, which is under an overpass and beside train tracks. We volunteer at the Salvation Army, and so we tried to get them to give the stuff away to the street people when they were done, but I think they just tossed most of it. Also, they didn’t buy it at Value Village (large second hand chain store here), like we suggested, so they’d save a pile of money. They bought it all new…just to set it outside for a couple of days. On another note, the movie is ok. The Canadian actor playing the FBI agent has a very pronounced (eastern) Canadian accent, though, so even though he’s not a bad actor, he kind of sticks out. Aaaand…I just realized there are no links for this anyhow, lol.

Cosmos (2019)
Ditzygypsy -1 points 4 years ago*.

I noticed the IMDb rating is unusually high. It is now at 7.1 from a total of 33 votes. All 11 written IMDb reviews are utterly stellar. All 11 written IMDb reviewers saw an advanced screening, so they are likely in the movie, part of the crew, or friends of those people. It’s an ok movie. The music is well-done, but it doesn’t always fit, and it’s overpowering. Not because it’s loud; but because it’s quite good and doesn’t fit with what is happening. In the beginning, it’s beautifully poignant-sounding, which makes no sense. There are drawn out moments of tension, which are almost absurd (the “Let ME drive the car” moment when the car won’t even start had me laughing hysterically…which I know it was not supposed to do, and the kerfuffle over the telescope that won’t fit in the car was just dopey…and also unintentionally comical). And then the music builds, but it builds beyond the acted-out tension and then has nowhere further to really go. The acting is fairly good. The beginning is way too drawn out, and the attempt to make these guys, who don’t even all know each other until this event, some kind of lifelong-friend team that is now back together is weird. Some things are a bit too complicated to understand (the radio signal science stuff). It’s not bad, but it ain’t no 8.6 or even 7.1 IMDb stars. Thank you, uploaders.

High Strung Free Dance (2018)

I can’t stop laughing at the title of this movie. It’s like they wrote random words on pieces of paper, tossed them in a hat, and picked three words to put in front of “Dance”. Lol.

The 9th Life of Louis Drax (2016)

It was different, but interesting, and my guesses were pretty much right. Poor little guy in the movie. Everytime I see Molly Parker, I think back to when I lived in the very small town of Pitt Meadows, BC. She is 2 years younger than my brother. Everyone knew everyone there back then. I think the population was maybe 1000 people. She’s definitely done very well. Thank you, uploaders.

Orphan (2009)
Ditzygypsy 1 points 4 years ago.

I’m not really a horror genre movie person, but I like thrillers. I don’t think this is a horror movie. Horrors are mostly absurd; someone’s nightmarish ideas put into film. This, however, could, for the most part, actually happen. In fact, there is a real life case that is similar, and the adopted “girl” has even managed to fool Dr.Phil. There’s a lot of important information that can be extracted from dental work, pardon the pun. Thank you, uploaders.

kingarco66 -5 points 4 years ago*.

yeah well other films i wanted to watch aint workin so i might give it a go
..
I first saw her in a Flashman book, which are historical comedies about a scoundrelly cowardly selfish prick .. its the school bully from Tom Browns Schooldays grown up .. he somehow manages to make enemies of every great man of the 1800s and have sex with every interesting woman (but not this one) :)

In the american story, gloriously evil Flashy manages to be both a slave traffiker and slave escapee helper .. all because hes a lying cowardly brute as usual :)
What else do you expect of a man who fought on BOTH SIDES of the american civil war lol
Later in the same story he survives the battle of little bighorn .. he was one of the indians! lol

Ditzygypsy 8 points 4 years ago*.

I’d never heard of the bully Flashman or the book or stories. After the tiny bit of research and reading I just did, I am really amazed that it is fiction that introduced you to Harriet. I find that fascinating, since Flash is a fictional character, but who cares because it made you curious about a real and very courageous person.

Harriet (2019)
kingarco66 -1 points 4 years ago.

i would like to see this girls full story, she sounds like quite the superhero :)
but I rekon Ill wait for a perfect copy

Ditzygypsy 4 points 4 years ago.

I knew of her because we studied the Canadian role in the Underground Railroad in Canadian history in university and she did live in St. Catherines, ON for awhile. Also, we have to study American history in 6th grade here, so I remember learning about her work a bit when I was a little girl. I’m stunned they rejected having her on one of the American dollar denominations. We put our Canadian civil rights activist Viola Desmond on our $10 Bill. I didn’t know all the biographical details that they played out in the film, but a lot of it was familiar. The copy was ok, but I’m on an iPad with Retina display and great EarPods, so I find the cam copies as of late to be not too bad if I don’t want to wait. Bios and historical films are my favourite kind of movie, so I personally couldn’t wait to see it. I hope you will enjoy it!

Take the Lead (2006)
Ditzygypsy 0 points 4 years ago*.

None of these kind of links work for iOS EXCEPT (I just found out) if I delete the extraneous.html before the .mp4 in the link (I used clipwatching for the first time!). Html is a webpage. It should really just end in .avi or .mp4 or whatever media type the file is. If you’re like me and swore off of virus-getting technology years ago, and have had problems playing pages that end in .html (sometimes those are dead links), look to see if the media file type comes before the .html at the end of the link and then just delete anything behind the .mp4 or .avi.

https://clipwatching.com/l8oyjdl6hrvd/Take_The_Lead.mp4.html. (Delete the .html)

Ditzygypsy -4 points 4 years ago*.

Oh no! I do not think I could’ve taken the movie seriously if they’d chosen him, lol. Mr, Rogers was so kind. And he was good friends with my toddler TV hero here in Canada, Mr. Dressup. It took me until I was 34 to see him in person, but it was a surreal experience, because I have better early childhood memory retention than I have now. (Like I have waning short term memory now, but I can remember many details starting at just before my 1st birthday.) And I think Fred Rogers made the world a better place. I like Carrey, but not for this role, lol. Thank for that!

Jackie Bouvier Kennedy Onassis tv-mini-series (2000)
Ditzygypsy 0 points 4 years ago.

The movie is fairly good. I’d forgotten that I’d seen it when it first came out on TV, and then I remembered I had seen it and what I thought then, because I still think the same thing: terrible casting. No one looks like any of the real-life characters they are playing. Not Jackie, JFK, RFK, Ari Onassis, Caroline Kennedy-Schlossberg, JFK Jr., Joe Kennedy, Maria Callas… . Horrible casting. But well-acted, and fairly well-scripted. Thank you, uploaders. Keep the biopics coming!

Trapped: The Alex Cooper Story (2019)

How could anyone do that to their child or anyone they love. And the sickos who perpetuate the absurd idea of conversion “therapy” in the name of Jesus. Quantum of Solace (2008)
Ditzygypsy -1 points 4 years ago.

I have insomnia. I love James Bond. Connery, especially. But I have tried four times to make it to the end of this movie, and I have fallen asleep every time. I don’t dislike Daniel Craig. He’s just not Fleming’s Bond. If you read any of the books, Timothy Dalton is actually the closest to the book character. So I just realized that I haven’t watched a Bond movie in over a decade now. I like the gadgets, the action, the weird bad guy characters, and even the beautiful women. This is just too in-your-head for me. Can anyone out there tell me if I can try any of the other Craig Bond movies without having seen this one to the end? Thank you!

Diamonds to Dust (2015)
Ditzygypsy 1 points 4 years ago.

Oh man. I can’t even remember the last time I witnessed acting, and dialogue writing, this amateur and AWFUL. Biopics are my favourite genre. I’ve seen the movie with Loni Anderson a couple of times. It isn’t a critically-acclaimed product, but the acting is Oscar-worthy compared with this nonsense. This Frank Ferruccio must be a total knob since he was heavily involved in this community theatre production. That’s actually kind of a sleight to community theatre. Right from the beginning, the first altercation at the coroner’s office is SO bad. That’s when I should’ve turned it off. I’m saving you the trouble of wasting your time. But as always, thank you, uploaders, because there are always gems amongst the rubble. I don’t mind sorting.

This is the f$cked up cult that River and Joaquin Phoenix’s family was involved in. Unbelievably horrific and devastatingly sad. Thank you, uploaders.

The Godfather: Part III (1990)
Ditzygypsy 0 points 4 years ago.

Well, it only took me until I was 54 to watch this trilogy, lol. I thought it would be full of hideous accents like the Sopranos or Jersey Boys, but I like period films, and I actually didn’t realize this took place when it did until today. This one might’ve been better (for me, anyhow) if they’d hardcoded the monumental amount of Italian conversations into the film. I didn’t know who was bad or who was double-crossing whom or even who had what name half the time. And that whole creepy cousin thing. FFS. Eww. So gross and so distracting. I feel like I need to have a bath and a shower -or two- just to wash the icky feeling it left behind. Plus, Sophia Coppola is, or was, a superbly awful actress. I liked the first two a lot, and this one was just ok. Thank you, uploaders.

Joker (2019)
Ditzygypsy 0 points 4 years ago*.

It was ok. Phoenix is great as an evil kook, as he had already proven himself in Gladiator, but the movie was not something I’d bother rewatching, mostly because it’s just too depressing for my taste with nothing remotely redeeming in it whatsoever. He’s not even criminally insane and driven by anything. He’s just mentally ill and pathetic and pathetic isn’t interesting enough. Pretty decent copy for a LQ cam, though. Thank you, uploaders.

Frost/Nixon (2009)
Ditzygypsy 0 points 4 years ago*.

Great movie. Very interesting to see some highly unfortunate modern day parallels. At 1h33mins when Nixon says he didn’t actually obstruct justice because he didn’t succeed at it, and Frost says, “Obstruction of Justice is Obstruction of Justice whether it’s for a minute or five minutes, and it’s no defence to say that your plan failed. If I tried to rob a bank and failed, that’s no defence; I still tried to rob a bank.” Michael Sheen is fantastic and Rebecca Hall is too, and she looks so lovely. Thank you, uploaders.

I hadn’t seen this in a few years, but back when I had DVD players and owned many movies, I did own the full DVD set of this movie at one time, and this particular uploaded version of the movie has some scenes in it that weren’t on the DVD I had. Also, I can’t ignore the fact the the upbeat music that plays during the tense battle scenes is almost identical to the music from the Pirates of the Caribbean, lol. Thank you, uploaders.

Ditzygypsy 0 points 4 years ago*.

I liked the Pilot. I’ve never watched more than a couple of episodes of Dexter and Hannibal…not my thing, because they are just too far-fetched as anti-heroes I can cheer for for my taste, but I did like Profiler, which actually paved the way for these kind of get-inside-the-killers’-heads shows. But I love almost everything Michael Sheen has done. From when I first saw him as a dim witted punk rocker in Laws of Attraction in about 2004 through to him being Tony Blair (twice, I think) and as Aziraphale the angel in Good Omens. I have Telus PikTV on my iOS devices (but no cable or even an actual TV, lol), so I do get this show, but I’m watching it on here to avoid commercials. So, thank you, uploaders!

Reason for Living: The Jill Ireland Story (1991)

Good movie, but horrible casting. Jill Clayburgh might be a good actress, but she is nothing like the refined, softly beautiful, and quietly soulful Jill Ireland was. Holy crap. Lance Henrikson did his best, but he looks nothing like Charles Bronson, so it was very distracting, and wtf Jimmy McNichol? why? lol. Could’ve been a thousand times better with proper casting. I’ve never particularly been a big fan of either Garland or Zellweger, but this was fantastic. She managed to mimic Garland’s awkward, jerky stage movements and mic mannerisms, her facial expressions, and even her speech pattern extremely well. My favourite movie genre is biographical, and especially, music biographies. The costumes, makeup, and portrayal were all incredible. The story shows how mind-f&cked she was as a child star in flashbacks and how terribly lonely she was as an adult as her career waned. Thank you, uploaders.
(PS: The yellow on-screen ad-writing does go away, even though it kind of sits and slowly scrolls in front of the screen for a bit in the very beginning.)
