It leaves out a lot of juicy details. Like how the Portugese showed up with their firearms in search of gold and used intimidation to exploit the local slave trade. A slave trade, I might mention, that was vastly different from what the American slave trade would become. Enslaved people in that region has some rights and opportunities. Slavery in the US would take the horrific practice to new lows.

I guess the US deserves a pat on the back because their treatment of slaves was so abhorent that the ones that sold them the slaves had a change of heart and then sought to abolish slavery. Naturally, those same hypocrites then went on to use the abolition of the slave trade as a means to enslave an entire continent via colonization. Caucasians are tricky af.

Yeah, ignoring ‘all’ the facts in order to push a particular narrative does no one any favors. Nor does it absolve anyone from their part in it to shift blame.

I’d like to know how it’s “refreshing” that an ego-maniacal psychopath talks to regular people when he himself is actually also a regular person, but operates on the delusion that he isn’t, and that he’s better than regular people.

While I’m sure that any “explanation” will be entertaining, it will never be forthright, truthful or based in a non-indoctrinated preprogrammed farce of reality since anyone who makes the false assumption that they are fit to lead anyone for any reason has a severe criminal brain disorder with a litany of psychosis from the DSM.

To quote Proudhon: “Anyone who lays hands on me to govern me is a usurper & a tyrant, and I declare him my enemy.” Anyone.

Putin is a criminal. That he gives interviews freely only demonstrates his arrogance & megalomaniacal assertion that he can operate with impunity. If Stone is doing anything, he’s attempting to show something to The West to penetrate it’s own closed-minded reality bubble, and he’s using his own celebrity to gain access- not particularly to Putin, but to his own Occidental establishment. Criminal’s of Putin’s nature are easily manipulated via ego-stroking & flattery, so he surely figures that he’s “enlightening” the little people beneath him, and while he supposed his own countrymen are beneath him since he presumes to be their tyrant, he certainly supposed anyone in The West is even further beneath himself. He’s no different than any other brain damaged tramp from the political class.

Funny thing is, he thinks he is. But like all politicians, the thing that makes him dangerous is that he believes his own B.S.

So there’s nothing new under the sun here. It’s just more kool-aide for the Great Unwashed to drink in order to maintain a status quo while this criminal basks in his own self-celebrating celebrity. Stone may think he’s doing a service to The West, and he may think he’s clever in doing so, but this changes nothing for this hemisphere in terms of P.R. It’s all puffery to preserve sheer madness. Nothing more, nothing less.

Looks more like a comedy to me.

Two wise-cracking old people, one a Scottish bloke and a cranky American lady, trading one-liner jokes like boxers trade punches, Ta-dah. ‘Badinage’ it’s called folks, Banter. Sadly after 70 minutes of it i finally pulled the plug, i was just waiting for it to be over by then. It’s a low-budget British flick, a ‘small story’. The Scottish scenery is wonderful but the soundtrack is just a peppering of perky pop songs.. the whole thing could be described as ‘Jaunty’. It’s easy to watch and certainly enjoyable if that’s the mood you’re in. It has it’s charm i suppose but i grew up with this type of humour, this sort of movie, and it failed to spark with me, i’ve seen this kind of thing done much better, even on Hallmark actually. I’d realistically give it 2 Stars for below average fare. (Too many puns and bad jokes that even the subtitles didn’t quite manage to get!)

And Goodman’s parental quaker heritage, wreaks hypocrisy, in light of the murder of the unborn stance of liberal lefts..that is if you were trying to invoke some form of morality based on family history. Makes sense if you’re promoting the post-birth murdering of babies, like catholic -toting biden. Every presumed, and subsequent kindness that folks like this gloat about, is nothing but self-grandizement, or appeasement of an already seared conscience, and bound by a stench of cathartical evil.
