DC's Legends of Tomorrow (2016)
finigan1 -4 points 5 years ago.

Are they trying to phase this series out? all the rest are running this week but this one doesn’t start again till april fools, which really makes me wonder. Weird and maybe informative as well.Lets hope its not the dreaded thing we all fear when such things happen.

“based on facts that can not be argued”. Ok lol
This was actually just a lil test to see how long it would take for one of you guys to respond. 30 minutes. getting kinda slow. Maybe we’re de-evolving back to slugs now

finigan1 -1 points 5 years ago*.

It doesn’t take long for someone to post a comment in the first place just to try and get a reaction either.

The Ewok Adventure (1984)
finigan1 2 points 5 years ago.

Can’t believe I have never seen this, the acting is a bit cheesy but it is a good story and I would have loved it when I was a kid, a bit dated now that I am older but still worth the watch for any star wars fan.It does have more of the original feel than episodes 1,2,3 and 7,8.

Planet of the Apemen: Battle for Earth (2011)
Gregncat -2 points 5 years ago.

Why is this history?
Should be science fiction

finigan1 1 points 5 years ago.

Because its about the history of our evolution and based on facts that can not be argued ,from the many skeletal remains and other artifacts they have uncovered dating back 10’s of thousands of years. It is not a made up sci fi/fantasy.

The Greatest American Hero (1981)
finigan1 0 points 5 years ago*.

This show takes me back, loved it as a kid,Connie Sellecca was something unmissable at the time, and it just wouldn’t have been as fun if he hadn’t lost the instruction manual. A reboot of this show maybe possible, likely not but I am just throwing it out there because they remake pretty much everything these days. And the greatest american hero is a gi joe thing to so that might throw people off haha.

Metropolis (1927)
finigan1 2 points 5 years ago.

One of the first sci fi movies ever made and a true classic. If I remember right Georges Mellies is the only other film maker to put out sci fi and fantasy before this. A definite keeper.

I haven’t seen this movie since it came out, good movie with a great cast. A solid recommend and spot in my faves. Give it a go.

The Orville (2017) S2 E9
RoboPhone 2 points 5 years ago*. (Contains Spoilers)

Yes! We now see how crafty Seth MacFarlane is. He’s using a playbook straight from Joss Whedon plot lines: start with irreverent silliness to evoke compassion for the characters, then hit us in the gut with heavy life-threatening drama. Identity was the our belly-punch this season as Brannon Braga wrote part one and Seth wrote part two.

Braga started as an intern on Star Trek TNG and rose through “Federation”the ranks until Enterprise was cancelled. Since then he wrote and produced shows like 24 and Terra Nova. Now, he serves as executive producer, director and screenwriter on The Orville.

In Identity part one, Braga’s style immediately emerged with the musical overture that was hauntingly reminiscent of Star Trek’s battle rifts. With the ominous overtones rising, The episode began with The Orville descending on the home planet of the Kaylons. By the end, it became crystal clear that the Kaylons are this universes Borg.

In part two, written by MacFarlane, we see that Isaac comes to realize the value of humanity, much like Seven of Nine on Voyager, and suffers a similar fate. In another parallel, The Krill become frenemies with the Union, as did the Klingons with the Federation.

So now the chess pieces have been lain out and identified. And we have learned more about how the masters play their game. For the fans, there are exciting times ahead.

And as far as the haters and complainers are concerned, they need to just relax, sit back and enjoy the ride!

finigan1 1 points 5 years ago.

It is impossible to come up with something original with any genre, I think that is why they have tried to get more into prejudices and ignorances that are relative. Moklans like Bortus and Especially his husband/ wife are very? I don’t think there is a a word that describes being homophobic when it comes to a women. The Krill are so religious that they have no mind of their own and persecute or kill anyone not like them. The Kaylon think their selves above everything and everyone else because of their knowledge, and have a god complex really. The regorian are so superstisious and backward they are like salem witch hunters. The Xelayan’s have a 2 tear system of who is smart and who is not. The navarians and bruidians fighting over a little peace of land for generations when they have the same ancestors and both have a right to it. Many parallels to the real world that put across more of a message then just ‘Were In Outer Space’.

X-Men (1992)
finigan1 1 points 5 years ago.

Love this series, like the description says it follows the comics much more accurately then any other adaption I have seen.Even though its labeled as a ‘kids’ show, it is a must watch for any fan of the XMEN. And it explains more of the history about the shadow king and the morlocks that you may have seen in Legion and The Gifted. Not a spoiler just a heads up that the origins of those characters that are in popular shows now, that many don’t really know, are right here. You would have to find the right episodes for them, but it is worth watching from beginning to end.

Doom Patrol (2019)
finigan1 4 points 5 years ago.

Most definitely more mature then any other super hero show, the nudity, swearing and violence is actually quite refreshing to me. Really liking it 3 episodes in.It doesn’t take things to serious and at the same time it doesn’t hold anything back.Under those circumstances I would be swearing constantly also, not that I don’t anyways. And a couple of bobs here and there has never hurt anyone. I was poked in the eye once, but I really didn’t mind. And violence is in everything, so there is that. Over all really enjoying it so far, looking forward to more.

The Orville (2017) S2 E9

Best sci fi show out there right now, I agree with MyongSooksoo, the last 2 episodes were great. For all the people who have said its not sci fi enough, these last 2 episodes proves them wrong.

Hemlock Grove (2013)

Not your typical vampire werewolf show,it is very macabre and they ended it well. Bill Skarsgard, pennywise from IT is cool in it also.

Masterminds (1997)
finigan1 0 points 5 years ago.

A surprisingly fun and enjoyable watch, nothing great but it has good acting from of course Patrick Stewart and from Vincent as well, saw it many years ago.The premise is something I have seen many times, but they mix it up.Kinda spy kids meets ferris bueller and then they meet taps.Worth a one time watch at least. It is going in my faves I enjoyed it and want to watch it again in the near future, so I will keep it somewhere easy to find.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005)

Love this movie, one of the best book to movies ever made, the books are insane and a lot of fun and they managed to capture the same feeling with this movie.A definite 5/5 . Thanks For All The Fish, and Don’t Panic, There Is A Restaurant At The edge Of The Galaxy.

I love Felicia as much as the next guy but this movie can’t actually be good is it? Or is it worth a watch?

finigan1 1 points 5 years ago.

It is a decent watch, not great but not crap either, Felicia makes it worth the watch, she is lovely in a nerdy ,girl next door kinda way, and the guy who plays her husband was on eureka to, he was the bright eyed always smiling android deputy that fell in love with the sheriffs smart house. 3/5 some extra points for the sexy without trying Felicia.

A really fun show, if you like ash vs evil dead you will likely like this.Unfortunately they always cancel the good shows. And unlike ash vs evil dead it does have a conclusion so it doesn’t leave you hanging, but it does leave you wanting more.

Sorry, I removed that part of my comment,I forgot to click contains spoilers when I posted it. Apologies.

The Darkest Minds (2018)
finigan1 -1 points 5 years ago.

I agree with the other comments,it does take from other movies and shows but it is a good movie and they leave it open for more. They could make a good series out of it if the right people picked it up, there is enough going on.Overall I give it a 3.5/5. The 5.5/10 imdb gives it is wrong, it deserves a 7.5/10 imo.

The Gifted (2017)
finigan1 -2 points 5 years ago*.

It is a good show. And it would seem that it was only meant to be 4 seasons long considering what the upper case letters spell out in the first 2 seasons, unless of course it gets canceled first.Over all a good show, I do find Andy and Amy Acker’s characters annoying at times though.Which sucks because I have liked Amy Acker since I first saw her in a burlap bag in angel, she was hot then and is now.Just to much whinging in my opinion.I also have to wonder when their name is Stryker/ Von Stryker, are they related to the Stryker who gave Wolverine adamantium bones? We will probably never know.

Aquaman (2018)
finigan1 0 points 5 years ago.

Finally watched it in HD and I think it is just as good as Wonder Woman. Lots of action, good acting and it follows the story pretty closely, and unlike Wonder Woman it has a sense of humor.Jason has turned the cheesiest, and biggest laughing stock of high ranked super heroes into a bad ass, which I don’t think anyone else could have done. Two thumbs up and a solid 4/5.

Marvel's The Punisher (2017)

Ended, are you shitting me? I just finished season 2 and it was insane, and they went and cancelled it. I wonder how many netflix idiots it took to come up with that really moronic decision.

I was wondering what happened to this show, good to see from the links that season 2 starts next month. Its been almost 2 years after all.

Marvel Rising: Chasing Ghosts (TV Short 2019) (2019)
finigan1 0 points 5 years ago.

This is an episode 20 or so minutes long, not a movie, the secret warriors special on the link that robo posted is a movie,an hour and twenty minutes and the others are shorts 5 minutes long, they do all interlink, but the 5 minute shorts are about ghost spider/spider gwen and this finishes it where the movie is basically an in between that doesn’t have anything to do with the ghost spider/ spider gwen story, but still helps bring the team and story all together.Just a heads up.

The Orville (2017) S2 E7
finigan1 0 points 5 years ago*.

I like that they are talking about serious issues that have plagued our world for millennia. Pointing out the ignorance, bigotry and just plain hate for anything or anyone that doesn’t fit into their sickening and evil philosophies. Every episode this season has pointed fingers at cultures and religions that still think and do the same thing today to anyone different. This show is about more than just space exploration and comedy, its about the state of mind of our world and all the many fucked up people in it. The entire crew should shun and disown the son of a bitch for what he has done several times.

The Umbrella Academy (2019)

I have and I agree, it is a good show,I very much recommend it to anyone who likes something a bit different, the way they play with concepts of this and that is funny and serious at the same time.A fave to say the least.

No. I’m sorry. I don’t fight with people. Only people like you. Your offensive remarks do not offend me what so ever. Consider it being hardcore punk. I couldn’t give a sh*t less. I respect those who deserve the respect. I disrespect those who step over their boundaries like douchebags like you. So, lets stop this and move on. You all need to let it go, its freaking spidey people not politics. What does it really matter what someone elses opinion is whether they like it or not? Spidey would be disappointed that grown adults are arguing about him.So just chill.Compliments from your friendly neighborhood Finigan!

The best fan film I have seen, “Tell Gordon Hello” is way up there to, some of the acting is not to good but the fight scenes are great for a fan film.Well worth a watch

Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)
finigan1 -1 points 5 years ago*.

I have enjoyed all the installments, its spidey how can you not, but there are big differences. Toby to me was just to old although they were good movies. Garfield was a joke to me,way over the top, not spidey , and Jamie Fox as Electro was so cheesy, it reminded me of batman with Arnie. This on the other hand is not only who spidey is but who Peter Parker is, a geeky kid who is just trying to fit in. One thing I do dislike is them always starting it over with every incarnation, it is different actors and directors and all that, but starting the entire thing over every time, I have seen it already many times. But luckily they don’t do that with this movie, that is all said and done. The same story repeated over and over gets old no matter who is playing it or how it is directed and portrayed.

I haven’t seen it but it says adult comedy in the description so it would be wise to see it for yourself to see if it is to adult for a younger audience.Just a heads up because some people are thinking its a kids show.

The Company of Wolves (1985)

The Black Cauldron (1985)

Thank you to the linkers who put up another link so fast, as always awesome sauce.I forgot this movie even existed till I saw it here, I remember seeing it when it came out, I was 12. It is a bit darker than most disney movies, especially for the time, that is likely why it was never very popular. I read the books every few years, the chronicles of prydain is a classic series, and this was a good movie considering the age of it and me now. And something else I found after watching it again that doesn’t seem to be a coincidence, Gollum and Gurgi sound very much alike with there being a 20 some year difference in movies.Like gollums voice was actually tooken from this movie, I don’t know, watch it and see what you think.

The Orville (2017) S2 E6
RoboPhone 2 points 5 years ago*.

Personally, I don’t see a problem with that, Fin! {wink emoji}
However, there is B.I.G. difference here.

Typically, an android is portrayed as an artificial life form, and one with artificial intelligence that simulates sentient consciousness.

My understanding of Isaac, is that he comes from Kaylon, a planet so advanced, they mechanized their lifeforms. Therefore, he is a truly sentient being, who happens to be metallic rather than organic. There are evident similarities between Kaylonians and Vulcans as they each have disdain over Human’s emotional tendencies, resulting in a superiority complex and bias against any other lifeform that is not logically-based. Either The Union or Captain Mercer surely must have done something impressive to send Isaac as an envoy to serve on the Orville, while examining the human condition.

This episode clearly mirrors a Star Trek-like story line, where a female develops a “crush” on the the emotionless protagonist. I enjoyed it for what it was, yet was surprised they did something of this nature so early in the series.

finigan1 2 points 5 years ago.

I am not at all surprised. Seth has always been one to push the boundaries as far as he can, never been a fan of family guy and the Ted movies but this is a lot more serious but at the same time it keeps it funny just by playing with the ridiculousness of all the crap that we deal with everyday. It is a good show, I just wish they hadn’t gotten rid of Alana. And the only real difference between Data and Isaac, besides looks, is like you said,Isaac thinks he is far beyond humans, where Data being just as advanced, wants to be a real boy.

An instant fave first episode. I suggest you watch the original movie Hanna with Saoirse Ronin first though if you haven’t, it is a good movie. Right from the start it begins the ride and follows the beginning of the movie closely with some alterations. Give it a watch, I really don’t think you will be disappointed ,it is a good show! I rarely say that or fave something the first episode. You will see what I mean.

I understand how frustrating that can be. I am a full supporter of the truth and education of marijuana and pointing out inaccuracies in the film or calling someone out if they post false information. But yes it did get out of hand I think down below. It’s not your fault that other people are acting this way. All that can be done is to step back and not add anymore fuel to the fire. I asked the website what their policy is on the comments section and what is or isn’t okay and hopefully they will soon get back to me. Take care.

finigan1 0 points 5 years ago.

A proper discussion about things is always a great thing, its just when it goes to far which it has, when it becomes a problem.I hate it when a conversation turns into a quagmire. Again was never my intention.
