S.O.Z. Soldados o Zombies (2021) S1 E8
Arcangel2020 1 points 2 years ago.

This one was not bad at all, I liked it.
Basically (without giving too much away here) it’s kind of like…”Narcos” meets “Army of the Dead”. It says “To Be Determined”, so I am hoping that Amazon actually gives us a Season 2 and possibly more..especially with how it all ends.

Ring (1995)
Arcangel2020 1 points 2 years ago.

Terrific Japanese Horror film. I like this one as well as the American remake (which has actress Naomi Watts)

Dracula (2020)
Dread Pirate Robert 1 points 4 years ago.

Ah, nice one. I didn’t realise they’d released the movie yet. Thanks.

Arcangel2020 1 points 2 years ago.

Have you watched the “Breaking Bad” prequel series “Better Call Saul”? It’s excellent.

Johnny Mnemonic (1995)
Arcangel2020 1 points 2 years ago.

This movie is SO bad it’s good…lol. Keeanu Reeves stars in this one pre-Matrix Trilogy

Caddyshack (1980)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

Classic 80ies comedic Gold! Love this movie!

Spaceballs (1987)
Arcangel2020 1 points 2 years ago.

Not my favorite Mel Brooks movie (Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein and History of The World are what I like to call the “Holy Trinity of Comedic Movies by Mel Brooks”…but still a pretty hysterically funny take off on the “Star Wars” movies and Sci-Fi

Forever Knight (1992)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

I really enjoyed this series back when it was on the USA Network. I thought it was quite well done…well, the first two seasons. It’s unfortunate how the third season was mishandled towards the end. This preceded the Highlander tv series, so the backstory/memories from historical periods in time were better done imho.
I seem to recall that CBS tried to do a similar series several years back with a Police Detective as a Vampire character and it was gawd awful/unwatchable too.

A Wrinkle in Time (2018)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

Absolute garbage of a movie.
I remember back when Marvel Studios was searching for a Director to do the movie “Black Panther” and Ava DuVernay was strongly being considered to direct that movie. I also remember reading how she felt it was “beneath her standards” to do a Marvel comic book film” and so she passed on the project…thankfully. And thankfully Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios went with a MUCH better director to make that movie

Nowhere Man (1995)
Arcangel2020 1 points 2 years ago.

I remember this series and back when it debuted on the UPN Network. It along with Star Trek: Voyager and several others were the “Flagship” shows of the (then) new network. I thought it was a really good show and it totally reminded me of older shows like “The Prisoner” (which I watched the repeats as a kid on a local PBS station), Dark Skies and several others as well.
I thought it was unfortunate that it ended after just one season.

William S. Burroughs: A Man Within (2010)
Arcangel2020 1 points 2 years ago.

I read a few of Burrough’s novels back in the 90ies…”Naked Lunch” and “Junkie”, because a few friends I knew were into the Beat Author scene. Man, both novels wee difficult reads…I later found out that Burrough’s wrote his novels while high on Heroin and he was a lifelong Heroin addict. Funny thing, the movie “Naked Lunch” based on his novel was actually a bizzare movie to watch and it made more sense than the book…if I recall.

Big Top Pee-wee (1988)
Arcangel2020 1 points 4 months ago.

This was a pretty decent follow up to the classic “Pee Wee’s Big Adventure”. It was good, but not as good as the first one. Thank you Paul Rubenstein for all the laughs as Pee Wee Herman and your serious roles in films as well (excellent role in the Johnny Depp film “Blow”)

Vampires in America (2022)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 days ago.

Anyone who has watched the movies “Near Dark” and (the really BAD) John Carpenter’s “Vampires” or (cheesy bad) “Dusk til Dawn” is aware of the fact that there is a Vampire problem in the Desert SW area. LOL

Color Out of Space (2020)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

Finally got a chance to sit down and watch this one.
My thoughts on it are mixed…it was fairly decent. It wasn’t awful or bad (and let’s face it Nicholas Cage has been in some REALLY bad films in the past) but it wasn’t great either.
It’s “based on an HP Lovecraft story”…and I thought it was basically a mix of The Thing meets Life meets Annihilation.
So, all in all? I would say it’s worth a watch if and when you have some time for it.

Solo (1996)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

This is just a really wretched BAD adaptation of Sci-Fi novel that was actually a pretty good read back around 1994.

Galaxy of Terror (1982)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

Such a classic, shlocky sci-fi film by the great Roger Corman! It’s so bad, it’s good! Love the scene with the hot looking Blonde and the ravenous monster space worm too.

The Rescuers (1977)
Arcangel2020 1 points 24 days ago.

I remember back when this movie was released, when I was all of 11 years old, I remember specifically that this was during a time when Disney couldn’t produce a hit to save the company’s life. Walt Disney during the Mid-70ies era was just an absolute mess and was even facing Bankruptcy due to a string of bad/poorly made live action and animated films that no one wanted to see..this one was that rare exception was a really well done movie.
It’s funny to look back on/think how bad Disney/Disney Studios was, compared to the Billion Dollar Conglomeration it now is today.

Journey to the Center of the Earth (1960)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

Love this Classic! It was one of the movies I watched as a little kid every time it came on TV (usually on a Saturday Afternoon or on a TV show called Creature Features which I would watch on Friday and Saturday nights growing up in the SF Bay Area).

After Earth (2013)
Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

This (so-called) “Movie” (which was a total Will Smith Vanity project) is absolute, utter garbage. Approx. 88 minutes of this crap is full of Jaden (“I can’t act my way out of a Burning Building and the only reason I am in this garbage is because Will Smith is my Daddy and he got me the role”) Smith horribly acting and doing what he has done in previous movies (e.g the awful “Karate Kid” abomination/remake) which is whine and cry and throw temper tantrums
There is absolutely NOTHING good about this movie…except for the two words at the very end that say “The End”.

Sphere (1998)
Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

A complete waste of time. This movie is terrible. I read the book when it was first published and saw this movie back when it was released on VHS. It was horrible then and it was just as bad to re-watch to see if it was as bad as I remembered it.

Da Ali G Show (2000)
Arcangel2020 0 points 4 months ago.

There’s a reason why this “show” lasted for ONLY 18 episodes..it wasn’t funny and it was pure trash.

Late Night with the Devil (2024)
Arcangel2020 0 points 27 days ago.

Well now, this one was a compete and utter waste of time. 93 minutes of my life I will never get back,,ever.

The Donner Party (1992)
Arcangel2020 -6 points 3 years ago.

I noticed that the description this one states “the most unfavorable Sierra Nevada winter in history”…wonder what the Global Warming enthusiasts have to say about THAT bit of historical reference. Anyway, this is a good docudrama about a tragic historical event that actually took place.

I Promise (2020)
Arcangel2020 -1 points 3 years ago.

So, an uneducated, high priced/over paid, self entitled loser named LeBron James is going to “educate” people about life? An individual who never served in any branch of the U.S. Military and wears clothing and shoes that are made in overseas Sweatshops by people being treated as modern day slaves and making slave wages..while living in multimillion dollar mansions, flying on multimillion dollar aircraft, wearing expensive watches and suits while also driving around in expensive automobiles too?
Yeah LeBron, tell us all again how America and White people/White Society is SO…”evil”?

Who Saw the Men in Black (2021)
Arcangel2020 -1 points 2 years ago.

How do you know if you’ve seen the Men in Black, when they are known to use that Nueralizer Flashy thingy on the people to make them forget? What I wanna know is..are there other agents like Frank, the Pug among the MIB ranks? Like English and French Bulldogs who are undercover! I want the TRUTH! lol

Inside Islam (2002)
Arcangel2020 -1 points 2 years ago.

Yeah, having been over to Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Yemen and a “few other places” while in The US Air Force and also having lived in Minneapolis/Saint Paul, MN for 5 years too? I have seen what the Islamic “faith” is truly like and what it represents. No thanks.

Battlefield Earth (2000)
Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

The novel was actually a really GOOD book to read…the movie? Ehhhhh…HARD NO! lol

Sky Monster (2023)
suisen 2 points 20 days ago.

wow this is really bad, but if you like cheezy horror and halfnaked women this ones for you…

Arcangel2020 0 points 18 days ago.

You had me at “half-naked women”…I now feel compelled to watch what sounds like a total “Made for SyFy Channel Movie” LOL

Amy Schumer: Growing (TV Special 2019) (2019)
etim 1 points 3 years ago*.

She’s not Sen Schumer’s niece. They’re 2nd cousins, once removed, or something. Please try to keep your “facts” and conspiracy theories straight when using them to badmouth someone.

Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

First of all, my comment here is not a “conspiracy theory” and second of all, what you refer to as “badmouthing”? is actually the cold hard truth about someone who is unfunny and a waste of time watching her show. If that offends you? Just move along.

The Number 23 (2007)
Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

If you suffer from a major case of insomnia? Just try and watch THIS terrible movie. It’s guaranteed to put a person to sleep…it’s THAT bad and THAT boring and THAT stupid too.

Trevor Noah: I Wish You Would (TV Special 2022) (2022)
Arcangel2020 0 points 10 months ago.

Just like with Amy Schumer, she just isn’t funny

The Stand (2020) S1 E1
Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

Like many here and who will read this…I read the novel a few times, many years ago and it became one of my all time favorite classic era Stephen King novels (Don’t get me started on King’s stuff from the late 90ies to today or his political rants). I watched the old ABC Network Mini-series (Gary Sinese, Molly Ringwald, Rob Lowe) and I thought that was and still is..a cheesy bad it’s good version and I gave it an “A” for effort (I hated the ending! The part in Las Vegas? I thought the Special Effects looked so damn cheesy BAD)
This version? So far from what I’ve seen? Meh. Not too terribly impressed with the first episode…but I will stick with it to see how it progresses

Missionary (2013)

When asked what his favorite position…errrrr, ummmm…was? He replied “Missionary” (Buh Dum Duhhhh..)

Snowfall (2017) S4 E10
Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

Agreed! A Terrific season finale. This show is excellent and I would rank it right up there with other past FX series like “The Shield”, “Sons of Anarchy” and “Justified”.

The Windsors: Inside the Royal Dynasty (2020)
Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

“CNN Original Series”….just those three words alone make me giggle-snort

Resident Evil (2022)
Arcangel2020 0 points 1 year ago.

I though this series was okay to watch, it had it’s “issues” but I stuck with it.
Now, mind you…I never got into playing the video game/was part of the RE Video game craze back when it was all the rage. The RE movies with Mila Jovovich are a total “guilty pleasure” to watch every now and then imho.
The ending of the series leaves off with a cliff-hanger, so you know there is going to be a season two or more.

Ali G, Innit (1999)
Arcangel2020 -4 points 4 months ago.

She just wasn’t funny..no matter what.

Interview with the Vampire (2022)
Arcangel2020 -2 points 1 year ago.

Oh, gee…it the remake/reboot of the gawd awful “Interview with a Vampire” movie, not only that but it’s another “based on the novel by…” series (which is always a Red Flag).
The entire Anne Rice vampire novel series was absolute total dreck. I always tell people who thought it was good? Read author Brian Lumley’s “Necroscope” and “Blood Wars” series. Now THOSE are some GREAT Vampire/Wamphyri creatures that put Anne Rice’ “vampires” to shame.

I Am Legend 2

It’s the Sequel to the (Dumpster Fire, Garbage) film that NO ONE wants

Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain (2021)
Arcangel2020 -1 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Bourdain used to get on my nerves something fierce the few times I watched his show “No Reservations”…I think it was the “attitude” he portrayed on the show itself that got on my nerves the most and I thought that Andrew Zimmern’s “Bizzare Foods” was a way better series that respected the country & cultures he highlighted each episode. Maybe it was the way the show was edited that was the cause of how I felt about it.
It is a shame that Bourdain ended up committing suicide
R.I.P Bourdain

Point of No Return (1993)
Arcangel2020 -1 points 3 years ago.

You are better off watching the original French version “Le Femme Nakita” than this pale, shot for shot remake

The Menu (2022)
Arcangel2020 0 points 9 months ago.

The first time I watched this movie? I wasn’t sure what to make of it..I thought at first it was kind of a strange storyline/setting and a bit of a slow burn and after I watched? I was left with “WTF did I just watch?” feeling.
Then I rewatched it and was like, yeah, this is a pretty good movie..weird and twisted with definitely an odd ending (NOT going to give away any spoilers. If/When you watch? You’ll know what I am talking about). It has a really good cast and I definitely recommend it.

The Cursed (2022)
PonderThis 0 points 3 years ago.

This sounds interesting and with Kelly Reilly in it, (known for Yellowstone & Britannia) it surely can’t be a bad movie. She usually plays a badass bitch (in a good way) so I wouldn’t expect anything less of her in this movie.

Arcangel2020 0 points 2 years ago.

I was going to comment/post the same thing…but you beat me to the punch when it comes to Kelly Reilly. I really like her as Beth Dutton on “Yellowstone” (that show is freakin’ excellent, not a bad episode yet in any of the Four Seasons so far…which is pretty amazing for a tv series..imho). I only know of her acting from playing an American character, I am definitely intereted in checking out her acting on the series “Britannia” for sure.

Gang of Roses (2019)
Arcangel2020 0 points 5 months ago.

I am surprised this one doesn’t have Vivica Fox in it or Taraji Henson…LOL

Van Helsing (2004)
Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

Such a BAD movie on so many levels…unfortunately. Neither Kate Beckinsdale (Mmmmmmmm….Kate Beckinsdale!) nor Hugh Jackman could save THIS movie.

Welcome to Planet Earfh! (SLAP) lol

Black Ink Crew Los Angeles (2019)
Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

And here I thought Miami Ink was really bad and really cheesy (I even knew a person who worked as a PA on that series when it was in production) but THIS “show”? Is just plain God awful garbage when it comes to Scripted “Reality-Based” shows.

61st Street (2022)
YELLOWbird 2 points 2 years ago*.

4/5
This is really gritty stuff. Reminds me of The Wire. Courtney B. Vance is an excellent actor, but it is the Brit Tosin Cole that commands the first episode. Bentley Green who plays the younger brother Joshua just grabs you emotionally with his expressive face.

Arcangel2020 0 points 1 year ago.

I recently binge watched the entire “The Wire” series, it was terrific and well worth all the hype I heard from people over the years. Will definitely give this one a try

John Wayne Gacy: Devil in Disguise (2021)
Peevee 3 points 3 years ago.

They recently announced a third season of Mindhunter is in very early development

Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

Really? That’s excellent news! I was under the impression that the series ended/was cancelled after only two seasons.

The Legend of Billie Jean (1985)
Arcangel2020 0 points 1 year ago.

Love this movie! Total Cheesy 80ies goodness.
I remember seeing Pat Benetar perform live at a free concert in Pasadena many summers ago. During the performance with her husband Neil Gerardo and the band, she mentioned to the audience right before they played the song “Invincible” that the song was from the “horrible movie “The Legend of Billie Jean” and very tongue in cheek said “Don’t hate us for that” lol

Witchblade (2000)
Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

This was a pretty good TV series that aired on TNT many years back. It’s a shame that the series was cancelled after only 2 seasons…part of which was due to actress Yancy Butler’s issues with alcoholism
