Really hope this gets a Season 3. Viewership is way down, though. Of course, viewership is down on TV across the board since the pandemic ended, so there’s that. I hate that some of the main characters are leaving, but there are still so many possibilities for good stories, and some new characters might breathe more life into it.

I don’t want to have to wait until next year to see the rest of the episodes, but I guess it’s better than having to wait a year or more like some shows have done. I think I liked TV better when there were 3 channels and shows came on once and then as reruns, so you could watch another show on another channel during the rerun episodes. So much simpler. Now there is absolutely too much choice.

Ethan: “When’s the last time you cooked a meal?” I swear, if the cameras weren’t on them, I think Olivia would have slapped the crap out of him. I would have!

Notice, Ethan did not say he wanted the best for Olivia. This is his fault. He thinks everything has to be the way he wants it, that SHE has to be the way he wants her to be, or she isn’t deserving of being with him and having his children.

It’s o.k., Olivia will prosper without him, and he’ll always be stuck in the same place all his life. If he’s lucky, he’ll find someone who will let him control her and who cooks three meals a day.

For those of you who are Titus Welliver fans, listen up, he’s going to be in a new movie…….Killing Castro assembles an impressive cast, including Al Pacino and Titus Welliver, for the upcoming thriller. The premise of Killing Castro will follow a rookie undercover FBI agent, as he’s sent to supervise Fidel Castro during a New York City trip where he’s supposed to give a speech at the United Nations. But when Malcolm X invites him to stay at the Hotel Theresa in Harlem after a rough reception in his original hotel, the young agent will be tasked with keeping his target safe from the CIA and the Italian mafia. Nothing could’ve prepared the agent for a mission of this magnitude, with the fate of two countries in the balance. The project will follow the steps necessary to keep both men safe during their first meeting

Thanks! Will keep an eye out for it. I think those two will make a perfect pair.

I know this is crazy, but I’m jonesing for this episode to air, and since I don’t own a TV, I have to wait until it airs on here. I don’t even like reality TV, but I started watching this during COVID and got crazily invested in it. Oh well, I guess I’ll wait until tomorrow to see how this whacked out family ends the season.

I don’t watch any of the Godzilla or King Kong movies anymore, because I’m old enough to have seen the originals in the theater, complete with dubbed in English-over-Japanese script lines. Well, didn’t see the original until I was old enough to go to the movies alone, because it came out when I was two young to see it. They re-showed it in theaters ahead of “King Kong vs. Godzilla.” I stopped watching after 1975, when there was a long break in the movies and I didn’t like the new ones much.

Just finished watching this series. I truly deserves a season 2. The ending says a lot, but we need to know what happens now.

The Nevers (2021)
AmieWarren 2 points 5 months ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I just watched this, and DAMN! So much potential and yet another show cancelled before its story is fully known. I’m sort of sick of these COVID one-season wonders that never come to a good conclusion. I know all the actors have found other gigs by now, so it couldn’t continue if it wanted to, but maybe there could be a sequel or a prequel that told us more about Adalia and the Galanthi. I’m just so disappointed.

Have never watched this before, but omg — DEMELZA!!! I promised myself after Poldark ended so suddenly that I would read all the books, but never did. Now I want to do that.

As for this show, I like it a lot so far. Will keep watching, since it seems to be a popular show.

WHY WHY WHY do they always have such cliffhangers at the end of each episode?? I wish some streaming service would pick this up and let us binge watch every season, because it’s torture to wait a week between episodes!

This show can be so confusing sometime. Many’s the time I’ve had to go look back at the previous episode just to recall what they’re talking about. I have no idea why I’m so totally addicted to it.

HA! I do the same with the two burners and the second sink. I have a cutting board that fits right over one side of the sink and made a wooden board to go over the two burners I hardly ever use. I’m hoping to get a toaster oven/air dryer combo for Christmas so I can get rid of the individual ones I have now and make more prep space. My microwave has to sit on a table right outside the kitchen door. If I ever get another house, I’m going to make sure it has a HUGE kitchen!

Faraway Downs (2023)
AmieWarren 1 points 5 months ago. (Contains Spoilers)

IMHO, I’m thinking this is going to be the prelude to a series that starts 15 years in the future, since all of the surviving characters are now 15 years older. We’ll get to see what happened to Faraway Downs without Drover, and if Nullah came back after his walkabout. Maybe Lady Ashley got married and found out she COULD have children. Maybe she had Drover’s child and it’s now a teenager. Who took over Carney, since the daughter and Fletcher are now dead? There are a lot of possibilities for a series, and I’d be up for it.

The Garden: Commune or Cult (2023) S1 E6
AmieWarren 1 points 5 months ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Tyler needs to go. He is one fucked up, violent, authoritarian dude. Let him go off somewhere else and start his place. He is insidiously taking over, because Patrick doesn’t want to lead, so he’s letting him. If Tyler is allowed to take over, The Garden will be a cult. We’ll see what happens, but Tyler scares the hell out of me.

This was a weird episode. I like Luke’s story, but Lomax’s was too off the wall, and had no closure. What happened after they came out of the possession? Enquiring minds want to know! It was only intended to be a limited series and they covered everything in the book. That said, the show was popular and the showrunners have said that if presented with the opportunity and the right material they would love to do more of it.

I certainly hope they do, because it was the one show that I was waiting for in anticipation every week. I have a feeling they will, but they have to work out a deal with the original author to use their characters.

I’m tired of Kim’s “poor pitiful me, I’m so unappreciated” whining. Also sick of this messed up family blaming everything on Olivia. They are cultish in that regard, and Olivia is the “other.” Ethan is definitely an extreme conservative. I feel sorry for all the kids because they have been so indoctrinated into this ultra-conservative cult-like family that they can’t break free. Let him go, Olivia. Go be happy elsewhere. He’s never going to grow up.

Very curious direction the show’s going in. Sir apparently remained quiet as a mouse all night while Gabi’s visitor was right upstairs. He could have easily started yelling for help, blowing the whole arrangement wide open. I’m guessing Sir likes his captivity in a perverse way.
Well, he DID kind of like it, until Gabi’s man-friend stayed for a sleepover. Now, all bets are off. Where did Sir go…? Not far, I’m guessing. Certainly not to the cops. Anybody remember “The Night Porter” from way, way back? Yeah, I’m tasting a dash of that….

I seriously don’t see why Micah could not have taken 10 minutes of his time to have a serious talk with Olivia. Moriah needs to apologize to both of them for starting all this shit with lies. I don’t like Moriah, and I wish she would dress more appropriately. With all the bleached hair, makeup and somewhat sleazy clothes, I think she’s headed for a big fall, because we all know what men actually think of women who look like that.

For God’s sake, Moriah! You were WRONG! Nobody tried to steal your music and you have admitted you overreacted. If you don’t learn to resolve conflict, you’re going to be in a world of hurt in your life. Talk about narcissistic….Moriah will NEVER admit that she is wrong, which is the #1 sign of a disturbed mind — everything is someone else’s fault. RUN OLIVIA!! Run as far and fast as you can. True Crime Story: Look Into My Eyes (2023)
AmieWarren 1 points 6 months ago.

This is a true story of something that happened in a city where I lived for 14 years. I left because the government, and especially the Police, were so corrupt. There were some strange things going on there, still are, and this is just one example. People who escape this city, never come back, and that’s the truth. I’m not going to watch this, because it will bring back nightmares of my time there. Just wanted to give it some relevant background.

The Garden: Commune or Cult (2023) S1 E2
Birdsforme 0 points 6 months ago.

More sensationalism, bickering and general conflict between two new people and the group who want them to leave. Free PR is bad PR, This group should be smart enough to know this.

AmieWarren 1 points 6 months ago.

From what I’ve seen, they definitely aren’t the brightest bulbs on the tree.

The Garden: Commune or Cult (2023) S1 E1
Birdsforme 2 points 6 months ago.

Intentional communities have existed since 1500 BC. Some are religious based, some counterculture. The sensationalism of this video reminds me of overdramatazation that one finds in reality tv. If this group wanted a neutral documentary of their commune and intentions, this is not it. It is poorly done, Too much personal video of a few people with their conflicts with new people. This should have had a narrator along with every permanent member saying a bit of why they are there and what they do. It is ironic that this community got so much media attention. Not far away an self sustaining community existed since 1971 complete with their own school, band, vegie dairy and medical center. Look up “Steve Gaskin`s Farm”. Only after the founder died in 2014 did the community eventually change. However parts of it still exist today. It did not turn to media for attention, and did just fine. Also in the episode The Rainbow family was mention, but only in reference about one of the current members of this new community. The crime that is brought up in this episode refers to a crime committed in 2020. It was about a double murder of two women traveling to one of the annual Rainbow gatherings. Hitching rides can be dangerous no matter where one is going. To blame a group for this crime makes as much sense as blaming a Rock group for a murder that happened on the way to their concert. As I said, this documentary is poorly done and I think it will harm this group more then give it the positive notice it wants. Proving my point are the comments that have already been made here. Allowing this doc to be made without any editing rights is probably the worse thing this group did. The way it is presented, it will just feed the masses tendency to draw extreme opinions based on nothing but misinformation and drama.

AmieWarren 0 points 6 months ago.

The founder of the group was born and raised in the Rainbow Family. I don’t know why they left the old space, but I know it says several “Garden” groups have been set up across the country. This sort of smacks of the Rainbow Family under a different name.

I don’t know about murders, but the Rainbow Family camped in the Ocala National Forest near me once and completely trashed it. They left uncovered feces all over the place, tons of garbage and even abandoned tents. It cost Florida 10s of thousands to clean it all up. Now, to prevent large groups from camping there again, they’ve shrunk the available camping space to almost nothing and are giving out tickets for not removing your trash or using catholes for toilets. It used to be a great place where you could just drive around and find a remote, hidden place to camp and be all by yourself, but now, all campers are crammed together in small spaces.

I thought this was a movie but looks like it is a series. I love any kind of movie or tv series about WWII. I didn’t get much out of the trailer because there is no dialogue, just music. Putting on my list to watch in November and you can’t go wrong with Hugh Laurie and Mark Ruffalo.

AmieWarren 1 points 6 months ago.

I got dialogue, but there is a narrator describing it like it’s a radio show. Does the narration continue in each episode? If so, it would drive me crazy.
