You People (2023)
stratomaster 1 points 1 year ago.

I tried to watch this. I really did. I knew it would be, for lack of a better term, a “woke” fest. I didn’t know whether it was serious about the culture references, or if it was poking fun at the PC culture. The culture references felt so forced and inorganic that it bordered on cringey, and I pray that’s not the level of low brow humor we’ve collectively settled on. I love Eddie Murphy and Jonah Hill, and I’m all for championing social justice, but this was overkill in my opinion. Also, I feel like this was another example of a movie where all the good parts were IN the trailer.

greenguy86 1 points 1 year ago.

Besides the big names, did you think the other two could sell their characters? Seems like everyone was phoning in their performance.

The Company You Keep (2023)

Enjoying it so far. Cast has good chemistry right off the bat.

I should have been done watching this sooner, after this..🤦‍♀️

greenguy86 1 points 1 year ago.

It’s not the best but it is entertaining.

One of the best twists ever. It worked so well. The writing has been on the wall…

Fortunately, Foundation is renewed for a second season. Yay!

greenguy86 1 points 1 year ago.

I haven’t seen that one yet. The Apple produced shows seem cool at first but something puts me off on them.

The Flash (2014) S9 E1
greenguy86 1 points 1 year ago.

I really hope they go all out and make it an epic last season. Will miss the show.

Unfortunately, this has been cancelled.

greenguy86 3 points 1 year ago.

Yep. Sucks. All the cool Sci-fi always is first to go.

Will Trent (2023)
Alien 1 points 1 year ago.

New show. Looks funny.

greenguy86 4 points 1 year ago.

Its quirky/offbeat. Sometimes its serious, other times there are comedic overtones. I like all the characters. It came up on my new shows and I decided to watch it. Will keep watching for sure.

Lockwood & Co. (2023)
greyfur 2 points 1 year ago.

Yeah, saw the first one, wasn’t really all that sure, but gave it a chance, and was bored anyway, so watched the second one, and at that point it was just enough that I was willing to give it one more, but after that, the 3rd one had me. Still have one more to go, just have not had the time to get to it. Maybe tomorrow I will have a break at some point, maybe with dinner or something, get it in, wanting to see how it pans out. Hoping at this point they make more of these, now and again the British really do come up with some decent stuff.

greenguy86 4 points 1 year ago.

The English are very creative and always create unique characters. So even if the plot was thin, it would still be very watchable.

Walker (2021) S3 E9
greenguy86 1 points 1 year ago.

I just want to say that I love this show. Every season, it just gets better. Cassie was such a good replacement for Micki(maybe we’ll see her back one day?).

Lockwood & Co. (2023)
grasshopper rex 3 points 1 year ago.

A lot better than it sounds on paper. The teens weren’t nearly as angsty as the ones you see in US productions of this sort and you get the sharp, witty dialogue of the Brits instead of snarky one-liners. Gets a thumbs-up from me.

greenguy86 5 points 1 year ago.

I was able to watch 2 episodes and I was hooked. Will get some more in tonight.

This is brutal. I would not recommend if you get easily triggered by extreme violence.

That '90s Show (2023)

I personally enjoyed it. Red & Kitty were great as usual. I think season 2 will improve a lot more.

Mystery Road: Origin (2022)
Piglet 2 points 1 year ago.

Putting this on my list to watch this week. We learn the early life of Jay Swan and how he came to be a copper. If you like Mystery Road, give this go.

greenguy86 2 points 1 year ago.

This is a good one. Mark Coles Smith is brilliant. Can’t wait to see more.

Tulsa King (2022) S1 E7

Having seen all the episodes up to this point, I would definitely wait till they’ve all aired. You’ll want to binge this one.

Emily in Paris (2020) S3 E2

I’m not really feeling this new season. May drop it. Emily was cute and fun in the beginning but now its just getting so repetitive.

The Recruit (2022)
greenguy86 3 points 1 year ago.

Thoroughly enjoyed this one. Noah Centineo is good but Laura Haddock is the real star of this show. Look forward to more seasons.

1923 (2022)

I find it hard to believe that major film starts would sign up for this but I’ll give it a go.

I love Stallone. Stallone is in his best form. Highly recommended.

Strike (2017) S5 E4
greenguy86 3 points 1 year ago.

I’d like to add that Tom Burke & Holliday Grainger are superb actors. Watching this current series just makes me a bigger fan of their work and I always look forward to any new projects they may have.

Strike (2017) S5 E4
Piglet 2 points 1 year ago*.

Once again I’m shocked about who the killer turned out to be! That person didn’t even come up on my radar! The writers of a lot of British crime dramas are so, so much better than what we have here in the USA! Now I can’t wait for the next season, just wish we didn’t have to wait 2 years though!

greenguy86 2 points 1 year ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I wasn’t that surprised. The books are written by J.K. Rowling so I guess the writing would have to be good? The series hasn’t strayed far from the books.

Yellowstone (2018) S5 E6

I decided to like Kelly early on, and with this episode I knew why, she’s just really cool deep down.

greenguy86 1 points 1 year ago.

I like Kelly the person, Beth not so much.

Wednesday (2022)
greenguy86 0 points 1 year ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I thoroughly enjoyed this one. It did get a little predictable towards the end. There was also a lot of inconsistencies. It makes sense that Tim Burton directed the first 4 episodes, the other episodes were directed by 2 other directors. I was a little underwhelmed by Uncle Fester. Looking forward to season 2.

Wednesday (2022)

liked the scene where she sat under the window in the middle of the room .. the symbolism was perfectly done..

greenguy86 2 points 1 year ago.

This was a brilliant scene. Its little details that make the difference.

Yellowstone (2018) S5 E6
greenguy86 3 points 1 year ago. (Contains Spoilers)

A fantastic episode where nothing really happens. Of course we know things are happening which are out of John’s control and were already in play. I really don’t like where things are going with Jamie. Didn’t he learn his lesson before. For once, I enjoyed Kelly Reilly being herself(when they’re moving the cattle) and not Beth.

I went to the second Texxas Jam at the Cottonbowl! It was SUPER hot and so they sprayed the crowds with firehoses! It was FANTASTIC!! Such a great memory <3 I wish there was a video of that concert…….hmm

After a while a single plot has moved forward. I don’t think we should celebrate that. It doesn’t feel like much of anything is happening. Not as bad as last season.

Off to a big start. Plenty of material for a full season. That driftwood getting stuck was just bad luck.

greenguy86 1 points 1 year ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Much better than last season but did they have to kill off Monica’s baby? If she was already close, shouldn’t she have already been in the hospital? Didn’t she say she didn’t want to have the baby on the side of the road or something to that effect? Sounds just like bad writing to me…

The Winchesters (2022)

The future of this show is yet to be determined by Nexstar. I feel like it may not be worth watching if there will not be any further seasons.

True, in the same way that Africans sold their own people into slavery for greed/personal gain.

The English (2022)
Piglet 3 points 1 year ago.

Touche Alien, touche! It is rather refreshing to see the media industry to do westerns the way they should have been done! The Native Americans have been portrayed in a bad way since Hollywood started making movies in the early part of the 20th century! Many Native Americans tried to help the white settlers but we know how white men treat people who are a different color or don’t follow the beliefs like other European countries! NA were considered less worthy for many, many reasons, forced off of their land…..I could go on and on but shall stop because it’s like beating one’s head against a wall.

greenguy86 3 points 1 year ago.

This is not a hollywood production. Its what you would call a spaghetti western. Spaghetti westerns were/are typically filmed in Italy or Spain. This one was filmed in Spain. So whatever you’re blathering about, authenticity is not true in the context of this series.

The English (2022)
Alien 4 points 1 year ago*.

Personally, I’ve never seen anything like this. You must be very worldly and hoarding all the original scripts.

greenguy86 3 points 1 year ago.

You’ve never seen a revenge western? What rock have you been living under?

Titans (2018) S4 E1

How it so far? I am way behind on all my favorite shows. I hope I can start this one soon.

Doctor Who (2005) S13 Special

Fantastic episdode. A bittersweet ending. Even though I haven’t watched the earlier seasons, companions of the past were a joy to watch. We can be critical of this era or just enjoy it for what it was. Steady on. Looking forward to the next 3 specials with David Tennant.

Walker: Independence (2022)

I actually like it. It has some good characters. So I’ll keep watching.

Walker: Independence (2022)
greenguy86 4 points 1 year ago.

Any thoughts on this one? Going to give it a go.

The Winchesters (2022)
greenguy86 1 points 1 year ago.

The previews did not do it justice. A fresh faced cast who seem to have good chemistry right off the bat. I’m liking it so far. I would prefer a 13 episode season vs. a longer season.

The Winchesters (2022)
Piglet 2 points 1 year ago.

For some reason I never watched Supernatural and now there is the spinoff. It would take me many months to watch 14 seasons of Supernatural and I’m not sure I would want to start this new series without seeing Supernatural first. I think you’re right, geared for the tween/20 somethings. So maybe I’ll pass.

greenguy86 1 points 1 year ago.

Completely new story, you do not have to see Supernatural first.

La Brea (2021) S2 E2

She’s been on other series. I think she is a good lead but the kids and most of the survivors are annoying.

Snabba cash (2021)
greenguy86 1 points 1 year ago.

I would really like to watch this in full but I just can’t do dubbed at all(all there is currently). I watched the first episode not dubbed w/ no subtitles and have enjoyed it thus far. This is right up my alley.

The Capture (2019) S2 E6
greyfur 1 points 1 year ago.

O.K. NOW I’m gonna have to watch it…Watched the 1st season, and it was right good, but never got around to the 2nd one. Been a bit busy, and have really cut back on a lot of my watching, have schedualed a lot of shows, but don’t really keep up on most of them. Now I’m going to have to try and scope this one out….

greenguy86 2 points 1 year ago.

I use to be able to bang out a series in one sitting. Most I’ve done is 2-3 episodes recently. I am so behind on tons of stuff(but I look forward to when I I get around to them). When something is really good(rare occasion), I won’t even finish because I’ll be sad the story will end. I rarely rewatch something because I will get that painful reminder again.

The Capture (2019) S2 E6
YgraineDance 2 points 1 year ago.

You’re right about this season seeming fast, and yeah, if we do get another season we’re prolly in for a good wait. I was really satisfied by this, but I don’t know how popular it was overall.
Off the subject, but I see La Brea is about to start up again soon. Wonder if some questions will begin being answered on that one?

greenguy86 2 points 1 year ago*.

I know people have been critical of La Brea. I personally enjoy it a lot. I like the mystery so far. I just hope it isn’t cancelled. Would be nice to have a few more episodes this time around. I don’t like cliffhangers. I much prefer some resolution/answers.

The Capture (2019) S2 E6
YgraineDance 3 points 1 year ago.

WOW what a great season ender this was!!! Double crosses, triple crosses, intrigue on top of more intrigue right up til the very end! Season 1 was excellent, but I think season 2 might have topped it, as the enormity of the tale’s nightmare scenario is now known to and understood by viewers. This season’s arc has wrapped up nicely and I HOPE we see a third - this premise has endless possibilities still to reveal, as the tech theory in the story is very topical and shows no sign of abating. A highly recommended, edge-of-your-seat watch!

greenguy86 3 points 1 year ago.

I would have to agree Series 2 definitely up the ante. For some reason it went by faster. I’d imagine it would be a while before we’d see a third series(if that were to even happen).

Paper Girls (2022)
greenguy86 4 points 1 year ago.

I really enjoyed this one and would have never known about but you guys commented about 2.5 weeks ago. I can’t wait for season 2. It had an amazing soundtrack. All the actors killed it. I’m not a fan of stranger things so I won’t draw any comparisons.

Not what I expected. I thought this would be a limited series.

Resident Evil (2022)
alexisbits 2 points 1 year ago. (Contains Spoilers)

To a point, yes. But there didn’t seem to be a single shared feature between them. The eyes were especially jarring for me. But maybe it’s just me.

greenguy86 2 points 1 year ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Billie or the young actor that plays her is very inconsistent so I could see why it would cause confusion. Also its very difficult to cast similar looking actors. I don’t think adult Jade shares too many similarities either.

Resident Evil (2022)
alexisbits 2 points 1 year ago. (Contains Spoilers)

The first episode was disappointing, and I almost gave up. But I gave it another episode and it got better. The third was better still. And the fourth gave everything we’ve come to expect from “Resident Evil”, corporate greed, human drama, zombies, mutant animals. It just kept building after that. The finale was amazing. I loved the mutant zombie gator. My only gripe is with Billie. The actresses who played her looked so different that it was impossible to believe it was the same person. They did a great job casting Jade’s characters, so I wonder why. Here’s hoping there’s a second season.

greenguy86 1 points 1 year ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Young Billie has a wide face while Adult Billie has a narrow face buts its believable to me. They are suppose to be 14 in the show. So peoples appearance will change over time.

Dark Winds (2022) S1 E6
GeminiSaga 2 points 1 year ago*. (Contains Spoilers)

First episode of Outer Range is a banger but then the story just stagnates and doesn’t go anywhere. It could have been much better.

greenguy86 2 points 1 year ago.

Seems anything with Brolin is that way. I forgot to start one. Dark Winds is only 6 episodes, easy to watch and highly entertaining.

Resident Evil (2022)
greenguy86 2 points 1 year ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Having finished it… Main characters are very inconsistant. You’ll will be annoyed by their actions. It was definitely slow to start. It is highly entertaining. I remember playing the game loooong time ago but I just don’t get the motives of the viilains(What happens when you dominate the world?). I would watch another season if it happens.
