Looks to be a pretty good flick by the trailer, a take off from the old TV Series by the same name, but no links, but I checked, and you can watch it on VidSrc. I noticed that we can watch a lot of things there that there are not links for.

Oh OK, that helps make it make more sense. He did seem somewhat content in that spot when it was all said and done and basically getting what he wanted. Thats a wrap though, ya? I cant imagine it going anywhere from there but Im not well versed in all if the mythos of it. From what Ive heard theyre going to redo and redesign the entire MCU and start from scratch, again.

greyfur 1 points 5 months ago.

True that, but I read somewhere that this was not going to be the end for Loki, there was no elaboration on that, just that there was more to follow, but I have no idea what that could be.I do notice though that it don’t say ‘ended’ on the thumbnail, but ‘more to follow’, so that’s a good sign…

Long ago, someone sent me a box set of the Firefly series, which he loved. Very different kind of scifi show. He had a cat with grey fur. Funny, that…

That’s very kind. His blood pressure was 258 over 130, so it was rough. Comedy helps! I did look at this show though, and I know he’ll enjoy it when he’s in the mood =)

greyfur 1 points 5 months ago.

Ouch! That is high. But like they say, laughter can be the best medicine. Hope you can find something good to binge. Really don’t have a good recommendation, but old episodes of Firefly tend to cheer me up. Not comedy, but right decent Science Fiction though.

Thanks for the convo. Our dad got out of the ER & had an interest in this, but our energy is specific at the moment & the dialogue you two are having is helpful. Think we’ll have to go with a different vibe tonight as well. This is a good show though, and we can’t wait for it to take off!

Sorry to hear about your dad, hope everything works out alright.

Yeah. I’m heading for the second ep. now. Not yet able to decide if this is supposed to show real hijinks, or mental stuff going on, you know? (“Killjoys” or maybe “Nightflyers”…I can’t tell. It sure isn’t helped much by ‘Cersei Lannister’, who only seems to have one facial expression no matter what’s going on around her. Oh, well.)

greyfur 2 points 5 months ago.

Yeah, not really getting the Killjoys vibe from this, at least not yet. Thinking about watching something now myself, but not real jiggy with this at the moment for some reason, so going to go looking at what I have on my later list, will find something, have a lot piled up. Will get back to this eventually and see where it goes. It’s either going to surprise me and be good, or I’ll just drop it. Got too much stuff I’m trying to keep up with at it is…

Yggdrasil tree, in Norse mythology. The tree trembling is a sign of the arrival of Ragnarök, the end of the world of gods and humans.

THeRealMisterPink 4 points 6 months ago.

So, Uhm, ya, not sure how I feel about that. Series started off well but Im not feeling this finale.

greyfur 4 points 5 months ago. (Contains Spoilers)

If you will remember from the Thor moves, and also from their mythology, there was this tree, and if that tree ever died, that would be like their Armageddon. At the very end, they showed all the timelines that Loki had tied all together and saved had formed a tree shape.

I Remember thinking, ‘Man, I wonder what Thor would have thought about that’. That was what the ending was all about, Loki was actually the one that formed their tree, can’t remember the name of it, think it’s spelled something like ‘Ysidril’, or something close to that.

Upgrade (2018)
random000 3 points 6 months ago*.

It’s quite good. The action is Equilibrium style in the close-range combat sequences. Not as elaborate, but that’s the flavor. The story however is straight from Crichton’s Terminal Man, which can be seen in other transhumanism type stuff. This flick has set a while, so after seeing it again earlier, it played real well. Hope you dig it.

greyfur 1 points 6 months ago.

Just watched the trailer after making my comment, and really liked it. Will be watching this one soon, right up my ally!

Upgrade (2018)
random000 6 points 6 months ago.

On the button. 5 years later, this film plays like a new classic. Has aspects of Equilibrium with Bale, which takes a lot from Bruce Lee. But has quite a bit of Crichton’s 1974 Terminal Man with George Segal.

greyfur 1 points 6 months ago.

Your comment got my attention. Really liked Equilibrium. Have yet to find another movie like it. Might have to watch this one.

Tribal Get Out Alive (2020)
booger 3 points 3 years ago.

A decent low budget movie. Over the years there have been a number of really good low budget movies, this is not one of them nor is it a total waste of time.

greyfur -1 points 6 months ago.

So, pretty nice way of saying it didn’t totally suck, but wasn’t wicked good, either. Watched the trailer, and then went to the IMDb to try and see how much they spent on this, but since I’m not a paying member or whatever, I couldn’t find out, but thinking 2 things, first, if they had a few more bucks to spend on this, it might have been a much better flick, and the second thing, and have not watched this, but will put it on the back burner just for the heck of it, I’m betting the lead actress was also the best actor. Just getting that vibe from the trailer.

should have said animation/cgi

greyfur -1 points 6 months ago.

No idea why you got downvoted for that, just gave you a upvote if that helps any, and for the sake of argument, I don’t mind CGI or animation if it’s well done, have watched several, and got a lot of enjoyment out if them, but started to watch this trailer, and got about 24 seconds into it and decided (after checking the comments) that there was no way I was wasting what’s left of my lifespan on this…

Hope others are warned by this comment and don’t waste time on this. Was not very well done at all….

O.K., critter from space, if you think it’s that good, since you never lead me wrong yet, and I’ve been on the fence with this, if a second season comes out with this, let me know, and I will start a binge on this. I’m liking this show better then the Boys. Can relate more.

greyfur 1 points 6 months ago.

Wasn’t gonna watch this, on account of the Boys, was a bit (more then a bit at times, actually) over the top for me at times, but watched that up to current, kind of got sucked in and now since we are pretty much down to the wire with it, I intend to follow through and see how it all pans out.

That being said, I let myself be sucked in by this a little, and am up to current with this one now, and strangely enough, at 61, I agree. I have no idea why though. Maybe all the garbage I went through as a kid myself, was a considerable amount, makes it easier to relate to this in some way, but I do agree.

Daredevil: Born Again
grasshopper rex 2 points 6 months ago.

In this case I think it’s a good thing that they’ve rethought what they were doing. I read that unlike the Netflix Daredevil series, this was more of an episodic lawyerly type thing with Murdoch not donning the suit until episode 4. We’ll still get to see it. They’ve already filmed half a season and although many changes are likely to be made, a lot of it will be salvaged.

greyfur 1 points 6 months ago.

Ahhh, so less action, more drama. I don’t mind a little build up before they get to the action, if that’s what it takes to build a good story, actually. I see a lot of people start talking about ‘filler episodes’ of there’s not a lot of action or flash bang in an episode of something, as people have been so spoiled by action sequences and special effects, that that’s what they have come to expect in every episode, and a lot of people have simply forgot what it takes to build up the people in the story line, as well as the story line itself…

On the other hand, there is such a thing as too much of a good thing. You take too long to get there, and people can get bored with the show. You have to find the right balance between building the story line, the right amount of drama, and the action parts, and make those really good. Crossing my digits and hoping they did a good job. Got to where I really liked the Daredevil, was not a big fan of the comics as a kid, but liked the way they did it in the movie and the series that they did.

Actually liked him in the Defenders, and thought that that should have been continued in some way, was actually a pretty good show, might be we see some of the other heroes that were in that possibly in this series. Would be nice anyway.

The trailer got me expecting golden-age scifi. So I was a bit disappointed that it was more an action flick with only a smattering of exploration of the themes driving the action.
That said, it was a pretty good scifi action flick.

greyfur 5 points 7 months ago.

About what I thought about it as well. Was really looking forward to it, and at first thought I might have stumbled onto something good, then it kinda went downhill on me. You described it pretty good. Effects were good enough, for the most part. Basic action flick turned science fiction.

What we need I think is someone to take one of those really good old fashioned Rippin’ good space operas that used to get written back in the day when I was growing up (am 61), that used to take a trilogy to write and covered thousands of years (or more), not Foundation (which they altered the heck out of, but it’s decent for what it is, just changed from the original concept), and since they have already done Dune, they could do something like the start of the Rama series by Clark, for example, or maybe Gateway by Pohl as an example.

Not like they don’t have the effects now to do it right, and is they actually stuck to those as written, they would probably have a massive hit on their hands, and could do sequel after sequel as people would probably love those…

Just wanted to pop in for a bit to see a little bit of this, as I never got to see these guys in concert, and I remember when this came out. I was a much younger man, and was travelling around the country, and at the time you could still ride with the truck drivers, and would ride with them and lump trucks for passage from place to place, and would make some decent $ as I went. Sometimes I would stay with a driver for a while if he had a few good runs for me, then he would hit a truck stop and put out a call for me for another driver that would be heading in the direction I wanted to go, letting them know he had a good lumper that wanted to go in the direction I wanted to go, and there would always be one that would take me on.

I bought this CD at a truck stop when I was doing this and fell right in love with it. Listened to it for days on end. Would do the same thing with Evanescence when they came out as well. Never got to go see them though. Anyway, wanted to see them with the Symphony at least for a bit, and was not disappointed. That orchestra was just outstanding. Saw some of those people playing their hearts out, and could tell they were really getting into it…

On top of it, the vocals sounded exceptionally good live, and I mean really good, nice and clear, maybe some digital editing was done for the sake of clarity for the video, or maybe it was just this good, I have no clue, I really don’t know, as I wasn’t there, but I have to say, if you like these guys, I strongly suggest investing the time to give this a watch. I highly doubt you will be disappointed.
