James Bulger: The New Revelations (2018)
yellow_rose1 1 points 5 months ago*.

many people want to know the “why” in this case. Of my understanding in what I have learned in Psychology during my College years is that these boys had a deep seeded hatred for what James Bulger stood for. He was loved, cared for wanted, all the things these boys did not receive in their short lives by their parents. These are my beliefs. It was a horrible crime. James would be my son’s age now. It really hit home for me for that very reason as my son was the same age and they looked almost identical. My prayers go out to Denise and James’ father.

this is hysterical. I haven’t watched it in years. I really needed a good laugh

Love Has Won: The Cult of Mother God (2023) S1 E3
yellow_rose1 1 points 5 months ago.

This was the craziest cult I’ve ever heard of. I can’t believe that they were so brainwashed by her and the boyfriend that they drove through 5 states with her corpse. Believing that she was still somehow alive. I’m baffled by the crazed thinking of all these people. I feel badly for them. It has to be a trauma that none of them will ever come back from. They were very lucky to not have been charged with something, like abuse of a corpse, something. I highly recommend this watch. It’s a wild binge worthy ride.

Thank you SO so much to the uploaders for this film. I had a craving for Ralph Fiennes, and Voldemort just wouldn’t do. (P.S. craving Intensified)

yellow_rose1 1 points 5 months ago.

Ralph Fiennes is also in Schindler’s list. He did an outstanding job in that film too. I didn’t realize he played Voldemort. Thanks for that tidbit of information.

The Wiz (1978)
yellow_rose1 2 points 5 months ago.

This was a huge failure at the box office. I remember I watch this on T.V when I was very young. I wasn’t a huge Michael Jackson fan yet but I loved Richard Pryor. I didn’t enjoy it as much as the real Wizard of Oz but I remember enjoying Michaels singing the most. You can’t get out of the game is still one of my favorites of his. It was a movie I watched alone in my parents bedroom on the little tv they had because they are staunch Montreal Canadians fans and wouldn’t miss a game if their lives depended on it. The movie scared me more than anything. I was only maybe nine years old when I watch it for the first time. This second time around, I really can’t understand why it was a huge failure. The music is popping, the dancing is entertaining, The costumes are a little tacky but that isn’t a massive failure. I’m enjoying it today and Michael is so young, way before all the plastic surgery. He is a handsome young man.

Woodstock 99: Peace Love and Rage (2021)
yellow_rose1 3 points 5 months ago.

Wow. I am so glad that I didn’t go to this. Although the end of the video was the best part. Flea playing his bass completely naked. I’ve always loved Flea. He has such amazing charisma along with Anthony. Great film. Just goes to show that the only thing the promoters cared about in this festival was the money they would make. 4 dollars for a bottle of water and people were dying of hyperthermia. Disgusting. Great doc though. I really enjoyed it

Sherri Papini: Lies, Lies, and More Lies (TV Special 2022) (2022)
yellow_rose1 1 points 5 months ago.

This was a really good watch. Sherri seems to be completely borderline, no question about that. Also she didn’t want any repercussions for leaving her husband and children for nearly a month. I get it as a woman that ever day is the same old same old that a part of me wants to escape my life. I sit and think it would be so nice to go and rent a shitty little hotel room for a couple of days. I don’t because I know I am needed here. I am so glad that Keith got out and I hope he finds true happiness and not a facade of a relationship like Sherri. My prayers go out to him and their two children.

Love that! It certainly was! What I liked about the earlier Not Ready For PrimeTime Players was the daring. They took more chances & were more out of control. My husband has a picture disc from when they first started. Howard Shore & His All Nurse Band was great! Now he’s big time, doing soundtracks for The Hobbit & Lord Of The Rings.

So sad about Phil. Really loved him, especially on SNL & News Radio. All of the comics that worked with PeeWee were great. Wonderful characters & good times for sure!

yellow_rose1 2 points 5 months ago*.

Yes a horrible tragedy. Those were the days when SNL was the bomb. In the 70’s I would beg my parents to let me stay up to watch it. I actually used to live close to Dan Ackroyds’ vacation house. It was on Loughborough Lake. I don’t know if he still has it.

Pee-wee's Big Adventure (1985)

Loved that show! Always wanted that house… PeeWee + Crunch Berries = a hyper good time! Laurence Fishburn & Phil Hartman too, all from SNL Larraine Newman’s Groundlings comedy team =)

yes that’s right Lawrence was the mailman. Right? Wow and good ole Phil what a tragic ending to his life. Great memories

yes in the Next movie. He work at the front desk in a hotel. When my friends and I as teenagers we would be up all night drinking and smoking pot and in the morning when we would watch pee wee’s playhouse and eat breakfast on Saturday mornings. Good memories for sure.

Interrogation Cam (2023) S1 E1
yellow_rose1 1 points 5 months ago.

I just finished watching the first episode. Most of the clips I’ve watched on other shows, some I haven’t heard of but a good majority are the same ole same ole. It’s still worth a watch, if you do not watch many crime interrogations like I do then it may be all new to you. There was one clip in particular that then didn’t get many of the facts right. I don’t want to say anymore due to spoiling it for others.

The Day the '60s Died (2015)
random000 3 points 5 months ago*.

Time & again from the Caesars, Hussein, Stalin, Tojo, Mau, Nixon, etc- History records for itself the true nature of conservatism & how far its treason will go to silence free liberal dissent & to show it’s murderous intolerance for liberty & self-rule.

yellow_rose1 2 points 5 months ago.

It’s seems the objective is always to keep society divided and at war with one another. As Nixon said it best, “It’s not against the law when the president does it.”

The Day the '60s Died (2015)
yellow_rose1 2 points 5 months ago.

As I watch this I can help thinking to myself, history does indeed repeat itself. It has so many of the earmarks of the riots after George Floyd’s death but for obviously different reasons, yet many were the same. A disillusionment towards a Conservative government etc. I’m glad I had a chance to watch this as I was much too young to remember any of it. Great doc. for sure

Seaspiracy (2021)
Jirido 2 points 5 months ago. (Contains Spoilers)

People with modern upbringing in western society, before they get children, is like dots.. Everything revolves around them self.
Some, when they get children, understand that they are a line between the past and the future. Very little in our media world or even social world support that responsible thinking and identity building.
In old time people identified with principles and philosophy and ideals to the point they were prepared to sacrifice them self for it. Now thou things are “Evil” if they are uncomfortable or does not provide immediet status or reward.
This is a societal failure and they know not better.

Even thou, the consequence of their prevalence is terribly destructive to earth. Possible to the point of ecological suicide by folly and insecurity and instagram and facebook.
I feel like a god damned hostage on earth right now.

yellow_rose1 3 points 5 months ago.

your theory is not just thought provoking but an emotional connection that I feel in my heart. I’m so happy to hear your point of view, yet it saddens me as well because it is all so true in every sense of your words.

Police State (2023)
ThinMan 5 points 5 months ago. (Contains Spoilers)

It seems the label of “Documentary” has become very subjective as is evident here. Documentaries are intended to be upheld by facts that are indisputable and acquired in a nearly forensic and scientific manner. This is a pet project undermined entirely by political party paranoia. It is hugely subjective and unreliable. We were mostly shocked that is was “gifted” the coveted Documentary status. This is a Dramatic effort full stop.

The sea is so vulnerable.. I would be ok with capital punishment for sea abusers

yellow_rose1 2 points 6 months ago.

Witnessing the swift decline of our Seas, especially the Pacific, it tears me up. I watch shows that have nothing to do with the destruction of the sea and when they show the coral reefs and how dead and dying they are it makes me so angry. I discuss these issues with people and they don’t even seem to care. If the sea dies it won’t happen in our lifetime is what I hear. Don’t you care if it happens anytime, in anyone’s’ lifetime? If the sea dies this planet dies. Sometimes I feel as though Society doesn’t deserve this planet

Boy Interrupted (2009)
yellow_rose1 2 points 7 months ago.

this movie is answering many questions from my childhood, such as I wonder if my parents had seeked out help for me early then maybe I would not have had been so sick with my bipolar. Well obviously it wouldn’t have made a difference. There are so many similarities with me and Evan it is scary. I had attempted suicide as a young woman I chose pills. It is often not effective as I found out waking in ICU. I devastated my family and seeing their hurt and being so mad at myself for not succeeding, I didn’t do it again. Fabulous film.

I rolled my eyes countless times while Emilia talked. I knew before I watched this it was going to be poor me poor me, it still makes me angry to hear it. I have no sympathy for her. I’m sure no one does as she feels enough sympathy for herself that there is no room in her world for anyone else to feel it. She makes me sick. She is exactly where she should be. In fact I’d rather see her on deathrow and I don’t even believe in the death penalty

Midnight Special (2016)

When I saw the title in the comment area I thought this was about the variety show that 1st aired on tv in 1972. It was a late-night musical variety show and I first saw Rod Stewart on this show. Needless to say, this is not about a variety show, but a sci-fi drama with some well known actors, Sam Shepard, Adam Driver just to name a few. I’ll put this on my list to watch.

I used to watch it too. They had all the break out bands with songs from the hit parade. I used to post it on my wall as a young girl, the top 100 that is

I didn’t like Chance right from the start. He manipulative, controlling a lier and he was using Taylor all along. It is a shame she had a baby with him because even if they stay together he’s not going to help her with the baby. He a big baby himself. I hope she realizes she’s better off alone

Man, I don’t know how many times I saw this movie, back in the days. Had me crying every time. A classic, feel-good movie for the whole family.

yellow_rose1 1 points 1 year ago. (Contains Spoilers)

My Dad took me to the movies to see it when it was released. There is a part in the movie where Benji’s little dog friend gets hurt and I cried so hard and loud. My Dad finally calmed me down and explained, it’s just a movie and that the little while dog didn’t actually get hurt. This is coming from the man that cried when he took me to see Lady and the Tramp. We are both very emotional people to this day. I can’t wait to spend time with them(Mom and Dad) today. I just wanted to let you know I have the same reaction to this movie. Also Happy Easter. I hope you are well

is my understanding. told there will be 4 weeks of pt, 2x a week, with homework, and a lot of homework after that. no real idea how long it will take to get full use back. can’t really do much at the moment, but only had the surgery the 13th, so has not been long.

typing with one finger sucks though…is the cuff…

yellow_rose1 1 points 1 year ago.

oh no. I did injure my cuff falling off my bike. I didn’t do the surgery and it took a year to heal. I did have surgery on my hand not too many years ago and the exercises are crucial to your recovery and how fast you are going to heal as well as no smoking. If you are a smoker. I had to do dishes with one hand now that was tricky. Take care of yourself. I wish you the best

thanks. not really painful, just hard to sleep with the contraption they got me wearing, so finally started to take it off at night to sleep. only really hurts any when i’m laying down, but doubt that will be for very long.

will get the few stitches i got out on the 23rd, and will probably get out of this thing as well. won’t start pt until the 3rd of next month, which i need to get to, as the use of the arm is pretty limited at the moment.

thanks for the prayers, can use all of those i can get.

Jussie Smollett: Anatomy of a Hoax (2023)
yellow_rose1 2 points 1 year ago.

This is by far one of the best docu series I have had the pleasure to watch. Not just the story itself but the humor in which the people being interviewed used. I could not stop laughing at some of the content. I really didn’t pay much attention to this case when it was happening. I knew bits and pieces of the story so much of what I heard was news to me. However even if you followed the case it is so worth the watch.

Why don’t they just offer COPS and Live PD (one of the, if not the, top rated shows on cable) for like $1.99 a month for people who can handle it? I’ve never seen cops act inappropriately in these shows.

Ban these yet Grand Theft Auto cop killer video games are just fine.

Remove Elmer Fudd’s shotgun from Looney Tunes but leave Grand Theft Auto as is. Priorities. For the kids.

yellow_rose1 3 points 1 year ago.

I was watching a documentary about how the police depicted in the tv show has a written contract where the police that are filmed in the tv show hold the rights to what is edited in or out of the show. Once I heard that it really burned me because the producers of the show made the viewers believe this was a fly on the wall type of documentation, yet it is anything but.
