I liked this as kid and am looking forward to seeing it again.
If there ever was a book series in need of being made into a television show this is it. imo
With written material that spans many generations and several centuries (1599-1906) the Sackett Saga is ripe for adaptation.
booger's comments
Good solid movie. Have always enjoyed his books and the film/tv shows made from them.
I was muted for writing a review that was too long. Surprised me as I wasn’t aware that was a thing.
I have written some long reviews so this has me worried.
Nowhere have I found something about using too many words but I will keep looking.
If there is a limit to how many words a person can use to describe how they feel about something they have watched I want to be in compliance.
briefly
the good: What a Great Story! It was thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish!
The acting was very good (them brits seem to have penchant for it) and the FX were believable.
the bad: There seemed to be a few editing and continuity errors here and there, nothing overly overt, mind you, but enough to take me out my Suspension of disbelief, if only for a moment.
the ugly: Well not much (if any) of this series had anything truly ugly in it, so I will use this space to nitpick.
The roads, why do these things seem to always get the roads wrong? I mean you can place a walled city or magnificent castle near flawlessly with CGI but you cannot be bothered to do anything with the roads? Gee whiz People, all you had to do was mow that little patch of growth in the middle of nearly every road to show that it’s pre-automobile, but do you? hardly ever
And fire-arrows? seriously fire-arrows? Don’t get me wrong, fire-arrows were real, just not in the way they are portrayed here.
I enjoyed this serial as a kid and could think of no better to spend a sunday afternoon than to watch this.
Watching this, I felt like a kid again.
That being said, was this mysteriously comedic? yes
Is there a bit too much slapstick and whatnot? personal tastes prevail
I laughed a lot and really enjoyed myself with this one.
Good movie!
Like a lot of good zombie/post-apocalyptic films, this focuses more on the personal story of those involved and less on the gore.
Not that gore is lacking, it is just not the driving focus of the film.
3 outta 5 because there could have been a lot more action, but it’s still an enjoyable ride!
When this came out there was so many people and media coverage saying how good this was that I just knew I had to see it.
So when I finally got to see it, I made a night of it.
Renting several other horror flicks and inviting my cousin-in-law who was just as keen to see it as me.
The film was very entertaining! I consider this movie a comedy classic. Terrifying …not so much.
I can understand why many people found this scary, you’re in a place that you have rarely, if ever, been (the woods) and it’s full of strange noises and smells and what have you, then you get turned around and suddenly you’re lost!
Oh! No! time to panic!
TL;DR
City kids get lost in the woods and freak out, hilarity ensues.
I remember Dr. Ruth from when I was a teenager and found her frank and down to earth advice on sex (a common and everyday event) quite refreshing.
Having grown up and still living in the U.S. I find that our collective treatment of an act, that is both natural and necessary for the species, as taboo, to be bordering on abhorrent.
Baby boomers, Gen. X, Millennial’s, I wonder what the babies conceived during Covid will call themselves.
Is this entertaining? Yes Is this edge of your seat action and suspense? No
Perfect for a lazy afternoon or while busy making dinner, you can expect to be lulled to sleep or be somewhat entertained, depending on the situation.
helicopter?
I believe he may have been referring to Iceman (1984) https://www.primewire.ag/movie/193907-watch-iceman
Love this show! Was very informative and funny.
Would really love for them to bring it back.
I have loved every single Punisher movie, comic and TV serial that I could find.
I do not care what the critics say, actually stopped caring many years ago.
I know what you’re going to say “but booger isn’t the punisher just a blatant ripoff of Don Pendleton’s Mack Bolon?” Yes, yes it is. But don’t that deter you from enjoying those works.
In conclusion I just wanna say Marvels “The Punisher” is the comicbook/kiddie version of Pendleton’s ‘The Executioner’.
With its star studded cast and award winning screenplay this superb entry into the ‘Caper’ film genre is a roaring good time!
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Other than a few chuckles the first episode did not impress me much.
The characters are shallow and 2 dimensional with a whole lotta potty mouth and crude humor, in other words, Perfect.
The whole silliness of the thing never once takes itself seriously nor allow you to do it either, it’s wonderful.
I went from barely finishing the 1st ep. to wanting each one to load up faster to cussing at them English for only making 6 so far.
My favorite bogart film by far and def in my top 10 black and white films. A timeless message and still a great use of time!! :)
I wholeheartedly agree!
I doubt that I remember a tenth of the black and white movies that passed before my eyes as a youngster, but this one spoke to me.
I am going to use a word that I rarely (if ever) use to describe TV shows, ‘Pure Genius’. ‘nuff said

Decent movie with excellent quality, well worth a watch, especially if you’re a fan of the books.
That being said, there was a lot missing from the film that would have made it far more coherent.
As it stands, I doubt that it will garner enough interest for a sequel much less the Franchise this book series deserves.
Along with the show this was based on (Dead Set), ‘Reality Z’ has both comedy and horror along with a heavy dose of drama and tragedy.
While it did set itself up for a possible 2nd season, I felt, that it had run its course.
The ending was both hopeful and hopeless and also promising and disappointing at the same time. (if that makes sense)
First you have this chick who wants every one to have an equal chance at living inside and then you have a ruthless character willing to do whatever it takes to survive and then he capitulates to the 1st outsider who shows up with a little power and then in the end when the girl who originally wanted everyone to be safe and secure inside opened up the other door thus ensuring that the few people that might have survived have an even lesser chance than before?
What The Heck!
After some time to think, I have concluded that the ending was truly more realistic than first surmised, people will always carry their own personal baggage with them, even into an Apocalyptic scenarios, as useless as it is.
Well that was unexpected…… After the last ep. I started to garner some hope for this season ending on a more realistic note.
Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed this, each and every episode, but to end it with such B.S. ……………….
Well, I guess the creators can do with it what they want.
TL;DR
communism triumphs over Reality …apparently
About time some realism was injected into this show!
My only wish would that it had been that useless politician.
I like it!
wish someone would have ticked the ‘contains spoilers’ box before hitting that submit button.
Where I’m from, ‘Swamp Log’ does not mean the same thing as it does on this show.
With only one episode watched I am going to say that this is a worthy successor to the original ‘Dead Set’ upon which it is based.
A thoroughly enjoyable movie.
Even though I think this film suffered a bit from wanting to be an Oscar winner a little too much (might have been the cut I originally saw) it is still a solid movie based on actual events.
This little Gem, is an animated movie version of a Groundbreaking animated TV show, (The 1st EVER animated reality show) which was cancelled FAR too soon.
While being meant to give closure to those fans who felt cheated (and rightfully so) by the terribly misguided executives at Comedy Central, it ended up just reminding me of how much I miss being able to click on that channel and find humorous things to watch.
Still, it’s quite enjoyable to watch, with the overall theme being “What is the TRUE meaning of Comedy?”.
This is the ‘BEST’ cooking show ever.
Ever wonder why applesauce can be a substitute for eggs in certain applications?
This can teach you why and how.
Rather than just focusing on ‘basic recipes’ this show gives you an insight into what your ingredients actually are and why they act the way they do when you cook them using different methods.
I very much enjoyed this show when it first aired.
While not the best acted or groundbreaking FX, it made up for it with personable characters, humor and action.
Fun for the whole family.
Good show.
My mother watched this, so I did to.
Might be (for me) interesting to see the 1st ep. or so.
Not the best of the series (seemed like there might have been some editing issues) but still a decent movie.
Love this movie. Wish there was a link with english subtitles for the character dialogue and not just the narrator.
I wanted to laugh and actually did a couple of times, but only at the most cheezy of jokes.
Still, I like to give new series at least 3 eps. before my final verdict, so we will see.
BORING! Whatever social commentary this was supposed to provoke was lost to me when I saw this and there is nothing I recall to make me wanna watch this as an adult.
I remember watching this at a school mates house several years after its theatrical release on a VCR (they were very expensive at the time like 1k usd or such) and even though I was about her age when she did this film, all I did was to badger my friend into fast forwarding to the nude parts (it was a really boring movie)and then insist we watch ‘Private School’ which I knew from my older brother had what I wanted to see.
If I had not had my head in the clouds I might have noticed there was something wrong in his house.
This just keeps getting funnier and funnier and that’s not the alcohol talking, of course it doesn’t hurt either.
Lol, this series makes me happy.
Mark Hamill has always been good with voices so it took me a second to recognize.
Good Movie! Lots of Action, plenty of character development, straightforward plot.
The really good English dubs helped me out a lot, no pausing and rewinding to see the action I missed while reading.
Of course it’s still your standard boy meets girl and saves humanity type of movie, with a lot of your typical Hollywood type plot elements.
I was ready to give up on this after the 1st ep. but I stuck in there.
Yes, the time line seems a bit off and yes, there is a bunch of teenage drama, still more entertaining than several of the DC movies.
Would this have been better as an Animated series? Almost certainly, that department has done a bang up job (for the most part) with the material available to them.
Sorry, I had to say this “And thus is born StarSloot, Pole Dancer to the Stars”. ok i’m done
clapping
What a wonderful episode.
While not necessary to appreciate this ep. watching this https://www.primewire.li/movie/197011-watch-clue is not a waste of time.
This is worth watching, but only if you’re a fan of pathetic ineptitude.
Focusing too much on moralistic rambling and less on reality, this “movie” is a travesty of post apocalyptic cinema.
From the very beginning it is unbelievable, the whole ‘Lone Survivor’ thing is too far overdone and unlikely, and going to get water without once looking around, is just stupid.
And a whole field of corn (not maize, maize is the wild version or ‘Indian Corn’ if you prefer) that has not been harvested? Never mind that modern corn varieties are wholly dependent on artificial fertilizers, why would anyone let an entire field of food just sit there, out in the open, attracting who knows what, within an easy walk from where you are hiding?
There are NO RULES or MORALS in Survivor mode, those things are a luxury.
Stranger things have happened.
I remember a shooting in the small town where I grew up that was ruled to be a suicide, despite the 15 entry wounds, 9 of which were in the back, from an 8 shot pistol.
Of course it was the early 80’s and he was rumored to work for the Cartel.
While I loved seeing one of my childhoods favorite comic book heroes come to the small screen, I was disappointed with the choice of supporting characters.
In the limited amount of time they had, they did do a decent job of conveying Sgt. Rock’s character, barely.
The story was good, I could clearly see him doing and acting just that way.
But to put him in a story with a werewolf, vampire and frankenstein’s monster was a really weird way to reintroduce a character.
What was he like in the comics? Think LT. Dan from Forrest Gump sans the happy ending.
Warning : Contains Hippies
This sad throwback to an era best left forgotten is entertaining if only minutely.
This is some pretty silly stuff, love it.
