Why am I not surprised that Maher is an Elon fanboy? Other than the topics of religion and marijuana he sounds more and more like what a moderate conservative used to.

Didn’t watch it, don’t plan to watch it. The man already sucks enough oxygen out of the room and is the second richest person on the planet, he doesn’t need yet another free platform. 100% agree with you on Maher, except he’s gone farther right than moderate conservative straight into conspiracy theory. Maher snapped during covid. He started spouting fringe medical theories and anti-vaxxer tropes and now he has to touch base every week with every guest on how they feel about masking. It’s his safety blanket.
If you’re interested in all the references go to broadway world dot com, they have an article on Schmigadoon easter eggs.
How do we all feel? I love this, worried it will not get the second season. Anything Hank Azaria automatic watch. Kristin Wiig!!
Liking it so far, different tone to most westerns i’ve seen. One issue, at the risk of sounding like a legendary nerd, there’s no way a native would leave a team of horses strapped to a stage with a dead driver in the middle of nowhere, that’s just cruel.
I await your jibes and ridicule.
I have wanted to know the backstory on Mandalorians and their planet from day one in the SW universe - loving this season so far for that.
Cannot wait for this! Wes Anderson takes on the space race, with pretty colors.
“1883” is very similar in storyline and feel and just like this show you either liked it or you really didn’t depending on how you feel about Westerns that are women’s stories with lyrical dialogue and storytelling framed in women’s voices. The similarities are striking. They both defy the constraints of society, they both form bonds across class lines and with Native Americans, and the journey is punishing and takes a heavy toll.
Absolutely devastating. This is a brilliant show. I’m not sure I would survive watching it again.
Too bad they cancelled this one, it had promise. Unlike series like Frontier which are filled with terrible accents and simple storylines, this one had a really original script.
Too bad this was cancelled, such an original story - they need to dive into Canadian history, they could make a million shows and movies about the 15th-19th centuries up there.
Wow! The quality of the writing for season 2 made an edge-of-your-seat nail-biter out of almost every episode! Would want to see it continued into a s3 but I can’t imagine them get it this right a 3rd time. You’ve got to watch this one if you enjoyed s1…you WILL NOT be disappointed!
They killed everyone, they’d have to do a complete reset to have a Season 3…
Yeah, not really a spaghetti western even though it kind of feels like one. This is an Amazon production in conjunction with the BBC. It’s written and directed by an Englishman.
Feels like it’s deliberately playing against spaghetti western which is a nice extra layer of narrative.
Lots of stereotypes defied here. Looks like you either love it or hate it. I think it’s fantastic and I’m giving it a couple of epis.
So he’s not Matt Damon and it’s a pretty clear homage to Bourne but I thought it was solid - great fast-paced thriller and a good cast. Decent binge.
Lots of action, a surprise strategy, friends lost and found, and a big reveal at the end.
Absolutely thrilling - suspense, action, plot twists and the best of the cast over the last 3 decades. This is now my favorite Star Trek!
This is Jason Segel’s show and he is really good. The Harrison Ford character doesn’t need Harrison Ford, that could have been any of a dozen actors of his age and stature.
I’ve completely revised my opinion on Harrison Ford here - this is his best work as an actor in his entire career. Period. I never thought he had such range.
You don’t have to be emotionally dysfunctional to enjoy this show, but it helps.
WOW that was an episode! Been waiting to see something somewhere in the SWIP on what happened to that planet for a decade now.
Utter trash, bad acting, bad script, bad set design and cinematography, entire first episode looks like it was shot inside of a dark closet.
A worthy successor to Douglas Henshaw and Shetland - can’t wait for Season 2.
Lisa from Temecula is a classic! Laughed so hard I cried. Everybody broke in the scene. Easily in my top 5 of all time. It’s on YouTube if you don’t want to watch the whole thing.

The more episodes I see, the more I like this. Top quality actors, good writing and character development.
Natasha plays Natasha in every single role and that’s just fine by me.
Ridley Scott and Giancarlo Esposito, solid. Will be interesting to see whether stays fresh all the way through. Several playwrights use this device and the challenge is to show several iterations of the same timeline without getting boring.
Jude Law is like a blank canvas, he can take on a character and make it his own. He has never been typed cast and I don’t think he ever will be. He makes sure each movie/tv show he takes on is not the same ole some ole. We think of Clint Eastwood as a cowboy or a cop, Vin Diesel as a badass, Sylvester Stallone as another badass or gangster. But you can’t pigeon hole Jude Law!
Yes! This does not deserve the meh rating on IMDb. Huge fan. Made a playlist last year

Going back for a rewatch. The cinematography by Ole Bratt Birkelund is stunning. Every single item, piece of clothing, furniture, every single piece of color and scenery and the geometry on the screen is meticulously planned.
Doing another rewatch of this. Quantum levels above most shows in the last decade and eerily topical once again.
