Bordertown: The Mural Murders (2021)

I was so excited I found this on here. The series has ended which is sad because it’s fantastic and to watch and enjoy this, one should really watch the series first. And it’s well worth the watch. This man is an amazing actor!! Excellent!

Johnny vs Amber (2021)
DebbyDebb 6 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I definitely have opinions on this. I don’t believe for a second Johnny Depp did to her what she said. Is he messed up? Yes. But that doesn’t mean he abused her. She’s terribly messed up too and I think she wanted to ride on his coat tails to stardom. How can someone who has been in the lime light since his early twenties who is now in his late fifties be accused of such horrendous acts for the first time? All his exes have said he did NOT ever abuse them. I’ve been abused by men. So I’m not saying this lightly.

I’m just about to watch this so I haven’t yet but as soon as I saw Nicola Walker that was enough for me to say “yes”!!!! I love her and have never not liked something she’s been in. I’m guessing she left Unforgotten to do this. Can’t wait!!

i thot is was purty gud cept for all the reading I had to do. i meen, the US of A is the greatest cuntry in the universe. why cant everyone speak English and all entertanement be in English? still, I liked it enuff to keep watching.

DebbyDebb 8 points 3 years ago.

I truly hope this comment was meant as a joke!!! I need subtitles to understand what you just wrote. I’m sorry I don’t mean to be rude but hmmmmmm …. And as far as the US being the best country in the world? Hmmmmm again. I’d rather live in Canada any day.

I was excited to see this new show with Nicola Walker because I loved her in The Unforgotten but her character this is nothing like that character at all in my opinion, its weak, and trying to be funny which is coming across really flat. And sadly for me being an American English speaker only, the accent they are using is more thick than other shows from U.K. and hard to understand what they are saying half the time. She usually plays stronger women and without the comical tries, which she is better at. And the new format they are trying with the main character talking to midair aka us the watchers of the show, is very confusing at times. I hope it picks up because I’m not sure I can watch much more of it in its now footage. Time will tell. I had high hopes. Try to enjoy it. Thank you to the uploaders in any case.

DebbyDebb 7 points 2 years ago.

When filming this show I highly doubt they were stopping to think about pleasing American audiences just like when filming an American show they don’t stop to think about pleasing audiences in other parts of the world. It’s a UK show. They are catering to their audience.

Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em (1973)
Saucer-People 3 points 3 years ago.

I’ve similar happy memories of watching this with my family and what I love about it looking back is the way it appeals to all ages - as a kid it was the slapstick component, but as an adult rewatching it, there is some wry humour at work.
Both main actors, Michele Dotrice and Michael Crawford are brilliant, very much in the Laurel And Hardy vein of classic comedy.

DebbyDebb 4 points 3 years ago.

It’s nice when shows can do that. One of the funniest episodes is when Frank and Betty go to someone’s house for dinner and the house had all of these new gadgets. What Frank does to them is hilarious. He sure did get himself into some trouble!!

Bäckström (2020)
DebbyDebb 4 points 4 years ago*.

Excellent! Backstrom is quite the character. I’m enjoying it so far. There was an American one too and it was very good.

Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em (1973)

This show from many years ago is hilarious. I laugh til I almost wet myself. I used to watch this with my dad - he didn’t watch a lot of television but he never missed this and Get Smart. And of course Hockey Night in Canada. When I saw it here it brought back so many memories.

I feel like a broken record saying over and over how amazing Danish shows are but it’s true. Here’s another one. If you like Scandi shows, don’t miss this one.

Gidseltagningen (2017)

Another fantastic show from Denmark. However, I started watching it awhile ago and couldn’t finish because there were no links. I’m hoping to see it all the way to the end here. Well worth watching.

One of the best shows ever. I can’t wait for the next season.

The Capture (2019)
DebbyDebb 5 points 4 years ago.

This is a must see if you like these kinds of crime shows. Why is it that countries from Europe put out way better shows than Canada/US? I know Canadian shows USED to be bad but they’re not anymore. Denmark, Sweden, Norway, the UK, Spain, France etc. have amazing story lines and the actors aren’t all skinny or in great shape and beautiful. They’re more realistic and I like that too.

Efterforskningen (2020)
DebbyDebb 4 points 3 years ago.

Yet another amazing Danish crime show. It doesn’t say in the description that it’s based on a true story. That makes it even better. But also a very sad story. It’s scary to think there are “human beings” (and I use the term lightly) this evil in the world. Especially in Denmark - one of the safest and happiest places in the world.

The Blacklist (2013)
ArizonaGreenTea 1 points 3 years ago.

Question!!! I stopped watching this show after season 2. Should I pick it back up? I didn’t stop watching for any reason really I just want to know if it got better or worse.

DebbyDebb 3 points 3 years ago.

I think this show has had its ups and downs but it’s still worth watching. I love it and always wait with anticipation for the next episode. However, if James Spader ever left or wasn’t playing Red, the show would not be the same. He makes this show in my opinion. So yes, I would continue to watch.

Advokaten (2018) S1 E1
DebbyDebb 3 points 4 years ago*.

Yes!!!! This looks like another fantastic Danish show after watching the first episode. Can’t wait to see the rest. Tak to whoever uploaded it!! I finally got to Copenhagen so may now recognize some of the places.

Advokaten (2018)
DebbyDebb 3 points 4 years ago.

This did not disappoint!! Excellent series. From the way the last episode ended, I’m guessing there’s another season? I hope so and I hope it’s uploaded soon. Really, really good show.

Des (2020)
DebbyDebb 3 points 3 years ago.

David Tennant is one of the best actors ever!! So versatile and puts himself into every role flawlessly. He’s doing an amazing job in this show as I expected he would. To take on this particular role with it being a true story about such a horrible man is just - wow!!!

9-1-1: Lone Star (2020)
DebbyDebb 3 points 4 years ago.

Hmmm. So far definitely not as good as the first version. I found a couple of the story lines to be a little silly, i.e. baby in a tree! However I will give it a few episodes. The jury is out on this one. Having said that, wow does Rob Lowe ever look good for 54 years old.

Unknown Waters with Jeremy Wade (2021) S1 E2

I hope season 2 comes out soon lol I really enjoyed watching this. Very edge of your seat series. I hate that season 1 ended like that though. I bet this was very controversial to film. I hope not, but I’m guessing it was.
I don’t know a lot about the muslim customs but I wonder why she didn’t cover her face like she did on the plane in episode #1 when she went outside so people wouldn’t recognize her?

there is no propaganda involved. It’s a thriller. What are you even talking about.
A lot of judgment without even watching it. LOL

Probably because Mossad is Israeli so more than likely people will pass it by without giving it a chance because of world issues and politics.

Tehran (2020)

Yup! You were right! Just finished with the first episode and I’m hooked lol Thank you so much for suggesting this one!

DebbyDebb 2 points 3 years ago.

No problem. The third season almost gave me a heart attack it was so suspenseful. I went back and watched the first two over again. Enjoy! Oh and there’s another really good one called When Heroes Fly.

The Grey (2012)
DebbyDebb 2 points 2 years ago*. (Contains Spoilers)

I can’t believe how many people thought these wolves were real. Please. They are one of my favorite animals. They’re like the same size as the ones in the Twilight series which I loved because of the indigenous characters who turned into wolves while running. What more could a girl ask for? I started watching this movie but didn’t continue. It just didn’t hold my attention and that’s saying a lot when Liam Neeson and wolves were in it.

Stacey Dooley (2009)
DebbyDebb 2 points 3 years ago*.

Stacey is one of the best documentary makers I’ve ever seen. She’s not afraid to take part and become involved in whatever and wherever she’s shooting. I’m always fascinated - albeit not in a good way because of the content - from start to finish. This is an amazing show.

MasterChef Australia (2009)

What do you mean, so Hollywood? I think Andy is very genuine.. I don’t find them more Hollywood than the former judges, in the last seasons.

DebbyDebb 2 points 3 years ago.

I agree. I really enjoyed the new judges. They’re a lot of fun. I’m sad this season is over and can’t wait for next year!! It’s the best version of MasterChef by far followed by the original UK one.

The Con (2020)
DebbyDebb 2 points 3 years ago.

This is a very good show. Wow - what people will go through for the almighty dollar. Money is the root of all evil. There are some people I feel for but most I don’t because they wanted self gratification as well and they got ripped off looking for it. Eye opening for sure but some of these people are just down right “silly” (I’m being polite).

Well that was tense! I’m sure they’ll get out of it. They’re not going to let 4 main characters die. Especially Kelly. All of these shows have wrapped up early this season. I guess due to covid. Stupid thing. All the NCIS shows are done and New Orleans has been cancelled. So sad. The end of an era.

The UnXplained (2019) S1 E1
DebbyDebb 2 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

William Shatner is perfect for this show. Love his voice. However, in this episode I had to laugh at the “upside down cross” house. If you took that same picture from the opposite angle it would be “right side up”. They were in the house for all of two minutes. I am glad to hear that they think there could be demonic forces in it because that is what people think are ghosts. They scratch, smell, cause people to do horrible things, etc. But the house upside down thing made me laugh.

I can’t tell you how sad I am this happened to you. It happened to a friend of mine’s sister too. But please know that was not God. He hated what happened to you too. It was a human who did that. Not God. It sucks that someone who is supposedly a representative of God would do that. It breaks my heart. I just wanted you to know that.

The Capture (2019)
mikeym 0 points 4 years ago*.

I like the Capture, good Brit drama.
But don’t say there are no good US shows, there are a ton of US shows that are very good and probably better than this - right now there is Power, Mr Mercedes, Mayans, The Deuce, Ray Donovan, Ozark a ton of others on US TV - I can list 50 or so…………..
Some great ones on NetFlix, have you seen “Unbelievable” ??? How about HandMaids tale?
So don’t say a few Brit shows are “way better”

I agree about Canada - all crap but they have to produce Canadian content so they put out amatuerish stuff, the best cdn actors go to the US

DebbyDebb 2 points 4 years ago.

I didn’t say there were none. I said I feel they’re better for the most part and I guess it depends on what you like to view. Many American shows are remakes of European or South Korean shows, i.e. The Bridge, The Killing, The Good Doctor, etc. I watch a ton of American shows although none of the ones you mentioned because they’re not to my taste. And Canada’s are getting better all the time. So please don’t say they’re crap as you didn’t want me to say the US ones are crap which I didn’t say. :) Just saying!

Also, The Handmaid’s Tale was written by Canadian author Margaret Atwood and is filmed primarily in Toronto.

Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez (2020)
DebbyDebb 2 points 4 years ago*.

I have such mixed feelings after watching this documentary. He was a very troubled young man and I believe a lot (not all) has to do with the club owners and coaches. It’s all about money. I think they turned their heads quite a bit and Aaron got away with a lot. I’ve known professional athletes personally in the past because I worked for Molson and they sponsored many teams. A player for the NHL stands out in my mind. I won’t mention his name but he was traded from team to team to basically be a body guard/fighter when all he wanted to do was play hockey. I remember him saying “if I wanted to be a boxer and fight, I would have been a boxer and fought”. He too had a troubling upbringing and not the best relationship with his father. When I heard he died from a drug overdose (they didn’t call it suicide but I put two and two together), I was not in the least bit surprised. I put the blame on the NHL and the owners and coaches. Having said that, hockey too is a high impact sport where they’re brains and bodies get knocked around big time. I also think the pain killers they were injecting into Aaron’s body, mixed with the high amount of weed he smoked were a recipe for disaster. Shame on them.

Waiting for the Barbarians (2020)
PonderThis 1 points 3 years ago.

I watched the first 25 minutes and had to stop. Found it really boring and Johnny Depp’s character rather boring too. Maybe at some point I will finish the movie. It seems that Johnny Depp is not the actor that he once was and is taking/offered parts that aren’t suited for him.

DebbyDebb 2 points 3 years ago.

I agree. I love Johnny Depp but this was a yawn fest. I didn’t even get in as far as you LOL

Hope Street (2021)

This is an ok show. It reminds me of Midsomer Murders. A beautiful location to shoot a show - a seacoast town in Ireland. It’s a crime show but on the lighter side. I’ve watched two episodes and will keep watching. Not my favourite but not the worst. Hope that helps.

MasterChef Australia (2009)
DebbyDebb 2 points 4 years ago.

I’m always so happy to see this show back on. And I LOVE the new judges. I miss the old ones and wasn’t sure what the new ones would be like but they’re a refreshing change to the show. Lots of fun!!! And it’s nice to see old contestants back to try again.

Web of Lies (2014) S7 E7

This is so sad and unnecessary. I can actually relate to this one but I got away. The mom or brother should have gone and got her or at least tried much earlier. They knew she was in trouble way before this horrible murder. You could see it coming a mile away. Beautiful woman whose life was taken by a narcistic psychopath!!

Des (2020)
PonderThis 3 points 3 years ago.

It is truly creepy how much David Tennant looks like the actual killer! I often wonder how actors feel after portraying such dark characters? Does it affect them in any way, are they able to shake it off? Tennant is truly a gifted actor and the Brits really know how to do crime dramas! They didn’t go wrong by casting Tennant to portray such a despicable person!

DebbyDebb 2 points 3 years ago.

I’m not sure how true it is but I saw on a bio doc that Heath Ledger went downhill after playing the Joker on Batman. He apparently used to lock himself away from everyone to learn the lines and get into the part. I think it has to effect them in some way. How can it not? And you’re right. David has done an amazing job with this role like he does on all the shows he’s in.

Gidseltagningen (2017)

I’m not sure what happened to episode 7. The second season of this is even better than the first but could someone please, if possible, upload a working version of episode 7? The one on here right now is only 7 minutes long and it’s all wonky. Tak!!
