Great start. Looking forward to the rest of this adventurous season. Nice to see Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop. She did a phenomenal job as Emily Dickinson. I wonder, is she doing her own aerobatic battle stunts, or, is that her stunt double?

We googled and found other places. I suggest you do the same. PW is evolving after getting ‘a big slap on their wrists’ from ‘big brother’. They are attempting to reinvent themselves while retaining the same name. A little lesson learned from Napster. Essentially they went legal and rebranded their name as Spotify. yet, PW is determined to keep their popular name. Hope it works. Meantime, stick around to chat and use the library and guide/schedule. I do hope this place doesn’t go dark. So many other’s already have.

Ahhh… Thank Darmock at tanagra. Some good ole star trek, not the flaming bag of dog crap “discovery”, had to take that off the watch list, pure Garbage.

moongoddess 5 points 2 years ago.

I enjoy Discovery, but have cringe worthy ‘wtf’ moments concerning the dialog. I do understand your POV, and can empathize. Remember Deep Space Nine? When it was originally airing, I could not watch it, I thought it was crap star trek writing, and, acting. I binge watched it 2 years ago and had a better appreciation for it but still thought the ‘acting’ was sub par for a bunch of characters. Yet, I still think DS9 is not that much of an ‘epic’ star trek series.

Vikings: Valhalla (2022) S1 E1
Birdsforme 2 points 2 years ago.

Not the same high quality of the Vikings from the history channel, but not bad. I thought the accents were not that great, English accents sounded American to me.

moongoddess 5 points 2 years ago.

I noticed that as well. But like all languages throughout history, linguistics, syntax, vocabulary, spellings always change. Why? Because of the nomadic lifetyles all human beings have. When a person moves to a different location, living there for decades, they are bound to lose their natural born/raised native accent and gain a new accent from the residential location they set up their life roots at. The Nordic/Viking accents were not strong, either.

Star Trek: Deception (2013)
Alien 4 points 2 years ago.

Sneaky and goofy. Not bad.

moongoddess 5 points 2 years ago.

Agreed. The short plot/story was sneaky, goofy. I don’t catch many ‘FanFlicks’, though sometimes that’s how future actors/actresses, and, ‘behind the gate’ employees(vieographers, directors, producers, grips, producer assistant’s, gofers, stunt doubles, etc) gain experience and can add to their resume.

Star Trek: Discovery (2017) S4 E13
DownrightDebonaire 2 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

There’s a ship called The Nog. Dare I hope it’s a DS9/Voyager reference? It’s not like any other ship named after someone in Starr Trek has just a given name right?

moongoddess 6 points 2 years ago*. (Contains Spoilers)

I assume it is a nod to Nog from DS9. After all, he was the first SFC from his species. I can only assume he made a grand impact on his generations Star Trek Adventures. Would have been great if a spin off from DS9 centered around Nog and his progression within the Star Fleet Academy and beyond.

I have watched the ‘star trek fanflix’ and enjoyed them as well. It does show promise within the Trekverse that Roddenberry is still influencing future directors, producers, video creators, actors, and, Trekkies. Though, I did have a few moments of ‘WTH’ because of the content and plot process lacking continuity of it’s own progression. But, that’s how strong popular directors and producers of movies begin. By learning how to adjust things where they were so misguided in the first place. Kudo’s to the fanflick creators and future hollywood notables.

In my humble opinion, if a person has to be negative towards a specific program, without acknowledging the heartfelt opinions of others who enjoy such programming(…especially on the chat boards), they are not true Trekkies. Nor they do not comprehend the idea of creative adaptations from the original content presented decades before it. Those commenting with negative opinion but include acceptance towards those of us posting our enjoyment of the programs show more respect to the whole of entire Hollywood productions from their humble beginnings. Don’t forget, BEN HUR was created a dozen times and it’s humble root was a 10-15 minute silent skit.

There is no law that states all adaptations MUST adhere to the exact way the original production (Star Trek 1960s) were presented. If that were the case then all theater/stage plays, movies, and musicals would still be presented with MEN ONLY…and ONLY MEN. Remember Shakespeare? All his Folios during his lifetime were staged in all entertainment venues with Adult men as the male and female and child characters. Imagine today’s society not allowing women to be actresses, producers, directors, theater administration representatives.

If some of you think we true Trekkies are being ‘sarastic’…We Are Not. All our opinions come from a true Trekkie heart and from a place we can respect and accept creative adaptations for their gallant attempts at entertaining.

If some of you think a program is mawkish drivel or filled with politi-woke stuff…perhaps it is time you stop watching it after 4 seasons, heck, even 1 season, since it bothers your political opinions that much. Also, go back and rewatch TNG, DS9, STV from the 1990s-2000s. Pull up a history book of events and issues from the 1980s and 1990s and watch and read at same time. I guarantee you that those programs also had parallel dialog, and, plot sequences/Story Arc’s, within it that reflected the political problems of that 1990s time period, too. Maybe you were probably too young to realize/notice, or, not born yet.

If you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen. Stop trolling, bullying, being negative, and, criticizing us who are devout Trekkies. Respect everyone’s opinion. I do my best to respect the opinions of those who don’t enjoy programs. It’s not for them. But they could be kinder in their comments towards others instead of being katty and troublemaking, towards them about the fact they were emotionally affected in a good, or, sad, or happy, or bad, way with a specific episode. Seems that the art of productive Pro/Con Debate Class education has all been forgotten.

Live Long and Prosper.

By the way, a bit of Star Trek Trivia. Leonard Nemoy’s Jewish Roots inspired the Vulcan Salute. Shalom/Peace.

Loving how this is developing. Slow and steady, little action. Reminds me of how slow DareDevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and, Luke Cage were at the beginning and by end of season my head was spinning trying to keep up with the twists. Very little action at the beginning, yet by the end of season, punches flew so fast it was hard to keep up. Looking forward to Kate finding out who the is really behind all this.

Time Trap (2018)
moongoddess 4 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Thought the first half hour to 45 minutes was a drag. I kept fast forwarding a few minutes ahead. Mediocre acting from the youth in the film. I can’t imagine something like this ever existing in reality, but, where there is science there’s bound to be some sort of metaphysical vs physics entity that is created that lends a hand to the destruction of civilization.

It’s a good ‘I’m bored today what can i watch to pass the time’ type of movie. It’s a 2 thumbs down from me.

LMAO. Timing is everything. That dang furniture, the bane of his bittersweet memories. The Ah-hah moments Darlene, Becky, and Jackie had were decades in the making. Would be great to have Estelle Parsons do a few more Facetimes with the crew. She’s 94 now and I doubt she will be returning to set and sound stage for filming future episodes as Gramma Beverly.

Reminiscence (2021)
moongoddess 4 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Now this was different. A sci fi twist on an ol’ Film Noir Genre. Maltese Falcon, The Big Sleep, and Kiss Me Deadly all came to mind. Nothing like Private Investigator, attempting to figure out who killed who, including his love interest. That ending, though. Great metaphor; ‘Can’t live without the one you love’.

I would not say this was Jackman’s best, but it was fantastic to see him in a Non-Comic book hero role.

Legacies (2018) S4 E7

Would be great if the Tribred humanity switch plot would go 2 full seasons. I’m loving the show much more now that Hope’s humanity is shut off. Showing her true violent Mikaelson lineage. Makes me want to binge watch The Originals and The Vampire Diaries.

Can’t wait to see what Hope does next.

I am so looking forward to this that I may reread The Silmarillion while I wait.

moongoddess 5 points 2 years ago.

Excellent idea. I remember reading that. Sadly, no longer in my possession of the Silmarillion, et al. Moving about to new locations does that. I ended up going to a smaller place. Decided my middle aged earthly self no longer can handle lugging 1500 books packed in a plethora of boxes. My entire Tolkein collection donated to local library. I can visit them any time, though. LOL

1923 (2022)
moongoddess 6 points 2 years ago.

First there was Yellowstone, taking care of business in the 21st century, circa 2018-present. Then, we galloped back in time to 1883 to see the journey the Dutton’s took before settling in Montana. Hold on to your horse reigns, the Yellowstoneverse takes another portal trip, ‘back to the future’, in 1932, continuing the Dutton Family Saga. Will be interesting to see how the Dutton’s manage a farm during the Great Depression Era, with the USA’s new laws that govern guns, White man VS Indian Reservation property, women’s rights, family rights, Politics, child labor, etc., etc. It will be great to see how they transitioned from horse+buggy+surrey, to cars, and, railroad usage.

moongoddess 3 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

This was a delight to watch. Classic Nostalgia at it’s best. New voices, on quite a few muppets. But that goes with the territory due to original Muppeteer’s passing away. Loved revisiting my childhood and revisiting the Muppets. 1 muppet ghost gave me a teary eye when I recognized the voice of the Ghost of Claude. It’s Ed Asner(rip August 2021).

Be sure to watch through the very end of the credits for the best cameo appearance ever.

The Taming of the Shrew (1980)

I love revisiting the 1980s era of Shakespearean Plays. This one I remember from High school English literature classes. Can’t recall which grade though. I think maybe my junior year. I should search out the rest of the Shakespearean plays and watch them, including the lot of them I still have yet to see.

The Flash (2014) S8 E3
moongoddess 3 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

There goes another time loop jump to the future. But what kind of future? Mindblown. Harry Wells and Iris West together? And the last line of the night is exactly what I thought when Barry came through the portal: What is he doing here? Will this 2031 be the fault of The Legend’s Legendary Screw Ups since last season and ongoing through this season? After all we already know that by 2042 things are definitely on a battle front in Starling City(Arrow/Oliver Queen), and likely, many more superhero towns.

On a random side note: Imho, it’s all because of the cloning of the Legend’s and the clones act of sabotaging and taking over the wave rider to ssabotage and resabotage several different era’s.

I didn’t expect to get so emotional at the end. Gonna miss this show. was a brilliant written masterpiece that proves all races of beings can get along and work as a community. Sure, took them 4 seasons to get to that point, but the premise from the beginning was for all people with different bloodtype, race, ‘ethnicity’, to work as a team, a community instead of fighting a long eon fight because that’s what their ancestors did.

Long live Queen Talon and King Garrett.

Star Trek: Picard (2020) S2 E1

Discovery is just too much everything. Seems like they threw everything they could at it to make it a success. Time travel, multi-verse, related to spock, end of universe, etc. and nowhere to go now. And the woke-ness, that is fine, but it is overloaded. and lead character all over the place, she a rebel, a captain, she wise like spock, breaks the rules, but stands for the rules, etc, etc…. It just tries too hard and doesnt have a Star Trek feel for me.
Yeah, I didnt like DS9 at 1st either, but it was good stuff…

hehe. Remember Star Trek: Enterprise, With Scott Bakula, LOL? You binge watch that one yet? i always say, 7billion people in the world, something i think is “crap”, others will love it and i try to respect that.

Yes, I remember STE w/Scott Bakula. Also Binge watched it 2 years ago. 2020 was my Star Trek binge year to escape the ‘morphogenetic-alien’ that invaded our planet and is still causing havoc on human beings. It was good to revisit the early years of Star Trek. I haven’t rewatched the entire franchise, yet.

Wow, I did not expect that ending, They didn’t warp ahead too far. Makes me wonder if they plan on jumping ahead again at the end of the season, about 5 more years. I really enjoyed this episode because it featured real witches, albeit, screwing up a tea potion for a meal and going on a trip. Also, Kudo’s to the writers for their due diligence research with the story of Samhain, Pronounced Sow’n/Sow’en(Pagan/Wiccan New Year), and, the Pagan Dumb Supper(aka: Dinner with the Dead/meal held in silence). The explanation was spot on. I could not have explained it any better. Blessed and Happy Samhain to my fellow witch sisters and brothers.

Lots of emotional angst in this episode. I kept thinking, Where’s Counselor Troy when ya need her. Yet, they were all able to eventually process their emotions as typical any starfleet member would. With each other. Emotions are a part of Star Trek. This episode was boiling over with them. Which is unusual to have every fleet member under turmoil at the same time. And wow, something new that has never been seen in prior Star Trek programs! What was it? Where did it come from? Where is it going? Why is it there? how did it form? Why did it form? The answers will be in future episodes all season long. This is going to be an exciting adventure this season. Glad to see Mr. Saru rejoin the Discovery Crew, even if only a temporary assist.

This is how you end a tv series. Brilliant adaptation of the book series. Actors and actresses did a super job, the chemistry was oozing. The CGI was phenomenal. Costuming, especially during the time jump period, was exquisite high couture. Heck, Costuming for all centuries presented was absolutely fashionably presented. I really love that they did 1 season per book. I have no idea if this would have survived 1 chapter per season, as many other books to series’ attempt to do. I wonder if there is a short series spin off for Marcus being planned? After all, Discovery of Witches book series is a complete set of 4, with Times Convert, being the short novella of the entire series. It’s the tell all of Marcus’s back story.

What a grand classical way to end a very emotional episode. With a beautifully presented concert of, The Piano Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp minor, marked Quasi una fantasia, Op. 27, No. 2; AKA, Moonlight Sonata. Beethoven completed it in 1801.

The idealism of leaving your most precious furniture behind to cross a river is grief stricken truth. Pioneers really had to do that and it was the foreigners who had the most difficulty with it considering they had built a life in one town, only to decide to ‘go west’, ‘go farther west’.

Another quivering quivertastic episode. THAT BRIDGE SCENE!!!! PHENOMENAL CGI WORK! (Caps for excitement, elation). Geesh, can’t we just scream out of sheer delight here once in a while? Hawkeye 2.0 is truly going to blow the lineage mantle out of the atmosphere. Well, at least, until hawkeye’s biological-daughter comes into her own in about a decade. oh, I hope they don’t time jump a decade at the end of this 6 part season. The Dukes of Hazzard (1979)

Best dang car chasing action-dramedy(drama+comedy) ever. And 1 of my top all time favorite programs. This show is a fantastic work of comedic fiction, and reality, as it featured real country music stars, and, Nascar race drivers, every so often.
The slapstick comical humor, and, comedic delivery from The Dukes, Boss Hogg, Roscoe, Enos, and, the rest of the Deputies on the Hazzard force during the shows 7 year run remind me of Laurel & Hardy, Charlie Chaplin, and even The 3 Stooges. This program is a family oriented show, no curse words, no foul language, and good ol’ wholesome family/social values. YEEEEEHAWWWWWWWW!

Wonder if the other 2 will be following this or if this will be the only adapted movie from the trilogy.

Code 8 (2019)
moongoddess 2 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

This is an absolute must watch. 2 thumbs up. 5 stars. The acting, plot, and, sci-fi special effects, were very well done for this indie film.
The plot did have some looseness to it where it could entertain the idea of more films, allowing for a prequel, and, sequel. In fact, I recently read that Code 8 Part 2 has been acquired and will be in development soon. The Amell cousins, reprise their roles.
