“In September 2020, Soderbergh confirmed that a new season of The Knick is in development led by Barry Jenkins and André Holland, who would return as his character Dr. Algernon C. Edwards, and that original creators Jack Amiel and Michael Begler have written a pilot episode” - via The Knick’s Wikipedia page

Agree. Gregory tells a good story but accuracy is not a strong point with her. I like the series but it is total fiction.
As a BA in history I understand the annoyance at embellishments, but come on, after a time you just have to drop that jazz. This is called “period drama” for a reason. If you want the true story told A to Z there are several documentaries available for you to scrutinize.
If you liked this, you should check out ‘Summer Rental’ and ‘The Great Outdoors’, both Candy movies.
Lovely documentary. Her murder was so awful, but this shows how vital, talented and happy she was before the unthinkable happened. Everyone should check out her acting and the films she wrote and directed.
ok ok, now you’ve convinced me to finally watch this. I’m about to be 43 and haven’t watch this once
Everyone forgets that this is a John Hughes film. I’ll never forget the experience of watching this at age 9, essentially the same age Macaulay Culkin was in the film.. I wanted Buck to be my uncle too!
Roxy is insufferable, halfway through the movie I wanted to shoot her.
Roxy seems like the type who definitely would’ve gotten you first.
Mike Leigh is an artist. This isn’t a plot-driven movie - it’s watching slices of life through a keyhole. But it’s done in such a masterful way, you can’t look away.
I hope so. I’m on season 1 ep 6.
It’s an anthology series, so each season is a different yet somewhat connected story. I’m so jealous of you…I wish I could wipe my memory of it and watch it all again from the first season. Definitely the best show to come out of television in 20 years.
fun movie. worth a watch.
agreed, one of my favorites for years. “Born on a green light, Daddy-o!”
Define “terrorists murders”. Terrorism and mass murder are not the same. Mass murders are just to kill, no ultimate outcome required as most mass murderers plan to die in the act. Terrorism is the act of doing something to people to put pressure on a third party in order to achieve a goal.
…what you defined as terrorism is exactly what white people started doing the minute they realized they were no longer the race majority of the U.S.
Haha—they’re doing it just to screw with us, like I said before. (don’t tell anyone but they’re finally starting to put those extra bits and teasers in the end credits now—hope he didn’t miss it).
I know… I have watched all the way through to the end for weeks, and that’s why I made the comment above (“snoopers gonna snoop”); I thought it was weird that basically no one acknowledged my comment, esp. since I thought it was one of the funniest lines in the show thus far.
There is one already, BLM calls it racist because they themselves are racists. BLM is not about what they present themselves as, they’re a covert communist organisation that disguises itself as an anti-racist organisation that cares about black people, when in reality they are the exact opposite. everything they did up ‘till now was either racist and/or endangering the lives of black people and even causing their deaths indirectly and in some cases even directly.
They also don’t represent the black majority’s wishes. recent polls have shown that more than 80% of black people wants the same level of policing or higher, definitely not lower which is what BLM is aiming for by demanding the defunding of the police.
you need to add a comment with all of your legitimate references to back up the statements you made here.
A timely documentary that details the repercussions for giving an entire industry blanket immunity for products that, according to the U.S. Supreme Court, are “unavoidably unsafe”. Big pharma has no incentive for creating safer products and it is our children that have paid the price. Would recommend, regardless of where you stand on this divisive issue.
Sounds good. It is intelligent to gather as much information and do as much research as possible on both sides of an issue before doing something that vested interests who could care less about you or your family’s well-being tell you that you should do. It is truly ignorance to assume that the governments (under any leader), the media, and massive billion-dollar pharmaceutical companies are looking out for your health and longevity.
Truly the most well-acted, true-to-the-book version of this tale.
This was an outstandingly entertaining and satisfying finale. God, I love this show.
The writers of his show are throwing stinky red herrings left and right.
Don’t argue with idiots.
People who call names and can do nothing but insult those whose opinions are different from theirs are showing their fear.
This show is like a sanctuary away from the madness of the world for me. I just want to curl up inside it with a mug of hot chocolate. I recommend it highly.
This was absolutely the most brutal episode yet this season.
absolutely appauling how can anyone question this mans guilt ? oh I forgot the left can
Uh, I am radically liberal and I always maintained that he is guilty, so there goes your theory.
These people aren’t a movement they are terrorists and communists. They are trying to ruin our country. Fooey on this movie and fooey on this group of evil doers.
Skyehawk and the other right-wing crybabies: no one cares what you think. get out from behind your computer and see what is really happening to socioeconomically-cursed people instead of cowardly and sheepishly gleaning your opinions from fox (faux) news and facebook memes.
This is a much watch for anyone who believed the lies told by the ATF and FBI about the events of the 51 day standoff and the breach of the compound, resulting in the deaths of innocent children at their hands.
It is the best doc on the event that I’ve seen. To sit and watch the ATF/FBI lie and lie and lie in the hearings, and then watch the footage that directly refutes all their lies as well as implicates them in the destruction of all those lives at Mt. Carmel, is chilling and enraging.
7 1/2 min of credits
Haven’t you gotten used to that yet? You make the same comment every episode. Yawn…
A masterpiece of Italian expressionist cinema. Giallo at its best. Possibly one of the best art direction and set design works in movie history.
When I first saw it in 2000, the sets and art production influenced my painting and drawing for years, and still do. How incredibly gorgeous is the art deco lobby? and how terrifying is the dark city square in the scene with the feral dog?
this is a great revenge movie.
It is one of the best, because it is utterly unapologetic. Bless Bobcat Goldthwait. His earlier film, Sleeping Dogs Lie (2007) is an intensely funny film about a highly taboo subject. It must be seen.
I completely understand what a textbook example is. Which is why I was wondering if you were using the term literally, because it doesn’t apply figuratively, in my opinion. I’m kinda confused why you’d get so upset at me discussing semantics with you after you already devolved this conversation by trying to explain away the hundreds of white nationalist terrorism murders as “mass murder”. Do you not enjoy discussion? In fact based on your logic you’ve admitted that BLM is correct to call out the racist murders by their fellow citizens, and you’re just attacking the messenger because you have no rebuttal to their points on race inequality.
he/she who calls themselves doctor who got upset, as Trump gets upset, because their argument and opinions were called out as weak. They failed to mention the side of the situation that entails whites’ systematic terrorism and torture of other races and classes for thousands of years. And some ancestors of those oppressed people who have had all that terror and pain passed down in their collective unconscious are only now reacting to it because trying to get their representatives/the law to help them has proven either futile or dangerous. I’m not saying violence to people is necessarily right, but most of the damage done is property damage, and some people deserve to know what it feels like to have no property, as many people in this capitalistic society would put their property above their families if it came down to it.
best. episode. yet.
right? I found myself shouting at the screen and jumping around the room towards the end there.
Could not agree more! I had such a fanboy crush on Jenny Agutter back then.
Have you seen her in Walkabout ( https://www.primewire.ag/movie/148894-watch-walkabout )? She was 18 or 19. Fantastic film, and she is just radiant.
Excellent observation expresso! We have been waiting for how long? I am having a conniption fit waiting for it!
I am eating my head just waiting for the DVD/VOD rip to show up.
All I am concern with is….CLIVE OWEN going to be in it, and when will it be aired?
No, there is no way he could be in it as you know if you watched it…it will be focused on Dr. Thackeray’s African-American assistant, Dr. Algernon C. Edwards who is played by André Holland. The new series will be co-directed by Barry Jenkins, who just did “The Underground Railroad”, and Steven Soderbergh will produce again. I can’t wait. As far as when, it’s in development, and a pilot episode has been written.
Agreed. Just happy I decided to give it try
If you like it, you might also like a movie that the creators of OA made awhile back, which also stars Brit Marling, with Alexander Skaarsgard and Ellen Page, called The East.
Holy crow Michael and Mare when did we get so old ? Thanks uploaders this is going to be good. I’m an opioid refugee myself so I’m looking very forward to binge watching this tonight yehaw
This is great, but my god, Nicole Kidman’s face is so botoxed and blown-up, she can’t even make a convincing facial expression anymore. That is a pathetic thing for an actor to do to their face, their livelihood, as it is meant to convey so much information to the viewer. It really cuts down on my enjoyment of the show.
Acid-drenched, mind-blowing. One of my favorites with an outstanding soundtrack.
Yeah, Woodstock ‘94 was exhilarating; Woodstock ‘99 was a travesty.
If you like the OA and The East you have to watch Sound of My Voice. It’s a mind trip!
Yes, Good call, I forgot to recommend that one too. Excellent movie as well, though I’m a bigger fan of The East
This movie accomplished something I formerly thought impossible: it manages to be non-nauseatingly sweet AND smartly cynical at once. The two lead actresses, Aleksa Palladino (Boardwalk Empire) and an itty-bitty Scarlett Johansson, are funny and tough, and Mary Kay Place, as always, adds greatness. The script and direction are wonderful. If you like this, also check out “Lawn Dogs” https://www.primewire.ag/movie/258092-watch-lawn-dogs
McBride does an incredible job casting his co-stars. They always play quirky characters that are hilarious.
He seems to have a go-to stable of cast and crew that he relies on, like Cassavetes sort of…the same actors and directors/producers in this as in “Vice Principals”.
Oh lordy! I still sing The Daves I Know and I haven’t heard it for about 30 years and I only saw it the once! I am sure I have the lyrics wrong, LOL. One of my favorite skits.
“Some of us are David, but most of us are Dave. We all have our own hands but we come from different moms.”
This film is a low-budget, labor of love masterpiece. For anyone who grew up in any part of the ‘80s, it is a perfect regression back to better times. So much fun, I watched it twice.
