One of the most brilliant intellects of our time pulls back the curtain to show us how things really work. He paints a bleak and alarming picture, yet offers hope still that if we can join together in unmasking the real enemy of the American people, we could reignite the American Dream and finally make it a reality.

My man! He’s still doing interviews on Youtube at 93. So incredibly brilliant. I haven’t seen this tho so thx for posting.
Dude, why are you so mad? Go watch TV on YesMovies or something. There’s a million other sites. Cuz the biggest waste of time is you posting all these comments like you’re carving them into the wall of a mens’ room stall. Yeah, it was the best; now it’s a really fancy TV guide with a chatroom. It’s time to move onto bargaining, depression and, finally, acceptance.
I wasn’t ready for acceptance. Is is really the end? I keep coming back here because the people are generally intelligent, friendly, do good reviews, and give me an idea of what to watch. Some comments and people on other sites are really creepy and ugly.
Margo is such an excellent character. None of the others are very likable.
One intriguing feature of all the seasons has been the selection of music. They have used some of the best classics, some interesting tunes I’ve never heard, and newer niche stuff. The last song in this episode is by a Gypsy Punk Rock band with a Ukranian lead singer who was a refugee from Cherynobyl, Gogol Bordello. I used to be a big fan and they put on some killer concerts…. I guess it went with the Ukranian bad guys in the film.
This was brilliant. Living with narcissists and sociopaths is exactly like living with a soul-sucking vampire. Cage played Dracula like he owned the part and Hoult has really grown on me since watching The Great.
Best episode so far. The suspense was expertly crafted. Before this I was getting somewhat disappointed in the whole thing.
I read these books a long time ago. The first one was so creepy that I could only read it during the day. I still remember how beautifully the old house was described and how devilish Lasher. Very curious to see how he is portrayed. Highly recommend this series if it is half as good as the books.
He’s retiring again. 😂 I saw him in ‘94. Totally worth the price.
He can retire as many times as he wants! Love him so much. Thanks for commenting on this. I hadn’t heard about it. Saw him in the 80s (or late 70s?) on the last tour of the original band. Saw him twice actually. On the second night we snuck in. Totally worth the drive to D.C., scaling two tall fences and jumping a creek.
If you’ve never seen the original Kung Fu, do yourself a favor and check it out. I was mesmerized by it as a kid and it was my first glimpse into eastern thought. Carridine was excellent and there were many very young actors who went on to become famous…Jodie Foster, William Shatner and many more. It is still probably my favorite show of all time so I’m sure this one won’t even compare but I will give it a try.
This season is off to a good start. A bit heavy on the sports/history/culture references but that’s okay. Last season was pretty terrible but mostly due to the lackluster storyline. Downright boring, it was.
Very good and no reliance on dialogue. Worth the watch.
Sounds like a good one for my deaf 93-yr-old dad! Always looking for movies with little dialogue.
In the wealthiest nation on the planet, how is the epidemic of homelessness now plaguing us NOT the top poltical issue?
I just discovered this and it is excellent! Very well made, interesting storyline, good actors, quirky…all the good stuff.
This starts out very good and keeps getting better. Seems the chief might be having some prognostic dreams. Can’t wait to learn more about those.
It’s kind of scary, I hope he can handle that.
Really scary? I was worried about that. He confuses his dreams with reality sometimes…dementia. Maybe I better pass then.
With this episode I forgive the last one. This was so sad, tho.
Holy crap! Where the hell did Dark City come from? Where the hell has it been hiding? I don’t think I ever heard of it before last week when I stumbled upon a recommendation from the Critical Drinker. It’s the Matrix…a year before the Matrix…but SO MUCH BETTER! Better style. Better acting. Better script…and WAY better directing. I am blown away. So much for my 2 decades long belief that the Matrix was original. Nope. Dark City is the original. Don’t get me wrong…the Matrix was a very interesting and entertaining movie…but where the Matrix was shiny veneer…Dark City was the soul. For sure if I had seen Dark City before the Matrix, my impression of the Matrix would have been significantly more subdued. To coin a cliché…If you liked the Matrix…you will LOVE Dark City.
I’d never heard of this either and I thought I’d seen all things Keifer. Glad you posted this!
Like real events these days, the criminals just keep getting away with everything
Hardly boring.
I am enjoying Foster but yea I think it is boring. Not digging the storyline and usually I like weird. I’ll keep watching tho. It will probably get better.
This was just beautiful. Great actors, gorgeous scenery and architecture, funny, sad, different. I loved it. Nicole isn’t convincing as a Russian but she is stunning still
I could tell right away that whoever wrote this had real experience with domestic abuse and dysfunctional families. Too bad there aren’t more shows like this one which could be so inspirational for women in such situations. It was really exceptional in every way- storytelling, actors, settings. Even the little 3-yr-old was great and so adorable. IMDB rates this at 8.6 and in my opinion it is 10/10.
This had me hooked from the very first. Excellent series so far. Very intense. Looking forward to finding out more of the back-story on the characters. I’ll never pay any attention to TVMaze ratings again.
Watched this last night and still annoyed today by how bad it was. Little context, thin plot. The audio was bad but it probably wouldn’t have helped if I had heard everything. I foolish little girl wants to be a photojournalist…in the middle of a war….and she’s allowed to tag along. Would have been interesting to know how the U.S military was over-thrown.
Well whatdoyaknow there’s a season two. The end of S1 seemed so final I wonder what this will be about.
This added some excitement to my boring weekend! Great show. Now I will be going back to watch the originals.
Good watch. Binged almost the whole thing in one day. Very different.
roanoke va wow another home town hit for me ! demon babys wow in va !
This is a story very well told. I”m from coal country of Appalachia and didn’t know they specifically targeted there. What absolute horrible people. I’ve had friends and family die, get put in jail and otherwise ruin their lives. There are no methodone clinics back in those hills either. Last I heard (I moved away years ago) they were trying to get one 30 min from my hometown.
Keaton was fantastic in this (“Don’t you think it might be just a tad more addictive?”). Some great writing. Michael Stulbarg did a chilling portrayal of Richard Stackler.
I stumbled across this and liked it very much minus a few plot holes. I try to catch every doomsday-like flick but hadn’t heard of this one. Idyllic childhoods in the beautiful English countryside are interrupted by war.
I’ve read that a high percentage of surgeons are sociopaths. Never thought they could get away with something like this tho. They snuffled him around like the Catholic church shuffles pedophiles.
I’ve read the books a couple times. The imagery is so powerful. I was a bit disappointed in Lasher in this, he seems less debonair than in the novels. Now, the house on First Street is gorgoeous.
Folks on reddit say Ann Rice wanted Simon Woods as Lasher. No one is too happy with Huston, including me. I was also surprised that they brought him out so soon. Still enjoy the show tho.
As much as I love the Yellowstone franchise, 1883 was awesome, but this new prequel 1923 is difficult to follow for me, its all over the place, bouncing from area to area and people to people, cant keep up with who is who and what they’re doing and how they fit into the family. The cast is great of course, but parts of the story are very disturbing and sad to watch, especially the mistreatment of the Indian girls by Nuns no less smh. Its hard to realize how bad they were treated in that day and time in the USA smh. Hopefully things will start to come clearer for me soon lol. I’m guessing there was a lot of research done to make sure the info is true and on point so as not to be misleading to those of us who weren’t there, but I would’ve had a difficult time going through that research finding all this info on the mistreatment of the people during that time smh. I surely hope the remainder of the series gets easier to watch.
It is shocking to find out about their treatment but it is true. They have been discovering mass graves over the last several years in Canada. It is not shocking to find out that it was the nuns and the church. They comitted similar atrocities in Ireland and really all over the world if you consider all the rapes of children. Difficult to watch but needs to be known.
I just started watching this new series and am pleasantly surprised at how good it is. The sets/graphics are so dazzling that I”m gonna have to carry my large screen up from the basement for my bedroom. Usually I just watch stuff on my laptop in bed. The stories are original and interesting. Just hope the characters grow on me…do like Spock tho.
Has anyone seen a dubbed version? How do I ask for a link to one if so?
Do you need to watch Hawkeye before this one? I just watched the first episode and don’t know what’s going on, who is fighting who, and can’t read sign language.
Do you recognize the actor who plays James Cormack? Travis Fimmel who was Ragnar in the Vikings. Took me a minute since he has a full head of hair and wearing glasses.
I love Travis Fimmel. Good to see him in another series. The show is pretty good too and leaves a nice cliff hanger for season 2. Soundtrack is rough.
I really enjoyed this one and I usually avoid teen shows of any kind. The ending was one of the best I’ve seen.
The font used in the credits is very similar if not exactly the same as the one used in Columbo. She does remind me of him. And I want her hair. Great show.
Another excellent character from Stallone.
