I deep down love this film. Like Mike Mills’ other works, it combines good music with dreamy cinematography and outstanding writing. It’s also autobiographical. By the way, every movie under the “Similar Titles” section on this page is fantastic.

Really great HBO Masonic-Gnostic Dust Bowl series that uses archetypes within the period story of bad vs. good. Totally swept under the rug. Hey… Clancy Brown, Amy Madigan, Toby Huss & Nick Stahl- not to mention old school fav Adrienne Barbeau.

I sent the link to friends and family but now they wont let me watch in until we see it in the cinema. a significant film everyone should see. i did sneak the first 20 minutes and it reminded me of an interview with a survivor talking about the complicity of the people in the surrounding villages saying ‘how could they not smell’.

I am really looking forward to watching this - hope there are some links soon. It is such a paradigm to imagine how this type of world could exist. But it did.

Mike Leigh is an artist. This isn’t a plot-driven movie - it’s watching slices of life through a keyhole. But it’s done in such a masterful way, you can’t look away.

In 2011 there was a big push to revive this. First in DC comic-graphic novel form for the 3rd season, then also as a kickstarter funded mini or film that would wrap up the series properly. Although the comic was heavily promoted, DC mothballed the publishing. No word on the kickstarter film or mini. They wanted more than 10 million though.

That was the best finale episode of all 5 seasons.

Killer Joe was bloody darn crazy. That end.

This 5th season is stellar. We adore the anthology approach; it keeps it fresh. As for this season, Juno Temple is shining so brightly it is nearly blinding. She really is a terrific actor. Gosh, she’s been in so many diverse roles, and now this. Although, this whole “series” has a stellar cast. This has been so much fun, I know we’ll binge on it again. Thanks for your comment!

Disappointing. Mediocre. Badly acted and badly written. I usually like Sofia Coppola. This could have been executed with so much more zeal.

Probably Sharon Tate’s most popular film. The “dolls” are downers, so we get to see various actresses take a downward turn. Among them are the one & only Lee Grant (Dinah Manoff from Soap’s mom), Patty Duke, and since Judy Garland was fired, Susan Hayward & Peyton Place’s Barbara Parkins.

Best “holiday” film I have seen this year.

Considered by many to be peak Greenaway as well as Mirren. We dig the photography oodles.

I wish this had been better. It had excellent potential and its heart was in the right place, but its execution was amateurish.

Carice Van Houten (Melisandre-GoT) & her actual real life sis Jelka in this are adopted out from their biological family. Finally, they pilgrimage to the U.S. to find her in the form of Holly Hunter. Hands down this is a favorite film. ★★★★★

Ukrainian Maya Deren was a revolutionary experimental surreal filmmaker admired by David Lynch, Helen Mirren & others. Like Harrington & Kenneth Anger who were inspired by her, she attacked Hollywood & was a gestaltist deeply rooted in Kabbalah practices & also filmed famed novelist Anias Nin. This short is protected by the National Film Registry & the beautiful Maya herself is featured in this film about daydreams.

Rather fun, it has Boom Boom Bill Mumy before Lost In Space (You’re a bad man! A very bad man!), Dawn Wells as an extra right before Gilligan’s Island, Dick’s brother Jerry Van Dyke (who turned down the role of Gilligan - for which he kicked himself over lots). He plays a non- Scruggs style banjo of Blackbird. The story is centered around a lovely Connie Stevens with a rogue Robert Conrad & also has a rosy-cheeked Stephanie Powers. It’s a cool bedroom style comedy with some dramatic elements.

That dude is Krusty’s dad. He’s there already.

Yeah he announced years ago that he was quitting after his tenth film. While it had occasionally been casually discussed with Uma there were never any serious plans to make a third part. Would I love to see one? Yeah sure but it was never a realistic prospect.

As all David O. Russell pictures, this one is thoroughly entertaining and well-done.

Kept me completely enrapt from start to finish. If you enjoy a revenge-driven Western featuring characters from opposite walks of life being thrown together for a common cause, and aren’t bothered by a little bit of sentimentality here and there, you might enjoy this.

I love reading about Catherine de Medici and her creepy, corrupt family. The tone of this series’ first episode was perfect.

This was an outstandingly entertaining and satisfying finale. God, I love this show.

Understated comic masterpiece starring the very funny Patrick Warburton, aka “Puddy” from Seinfeld.

A crazy, disjointed “film”, but notable as it is some of the only comprehensive footage of Edie Sedgwick over time; it should be watched as a documentary, not a narrative film.
Also- toward the end, she allows them to film her having 1960s-era shock treatment.

IMO Julia G should not have been cast as Anna D.
