Hoarding is actually a very serious mental illness. If you haven’t ever seen it, this show about hoarding https://www.primewire.tf/tv/1336062-hoarders is available. It’s actually really shocking (well at least to me). I had 2 family members+ who went down this rabbit hole. There really isn’t any bringing them back, no matter how hard you try. At least, that was my experience. I haven’t seen this movie, but it searching for something to watch, I found your comment, though I think you are not recommending it? I don’t care much for Lifetime, so will probably give it a miss myself.

DemandingFemale 3 points 1 year ago.

Hoarders should have been capitalised in my review - It’s one of the few shows I watch. I have known a few hoarders over the years and their brains are definitely wired differently. If you’re interested in the subject matter then this movie is an okay watch. Just a typical daytime drama.

Thirteen Lives (2022)
Alien 5 points 1 year ago.

I watched the stupid movie just to answer your stupid question! NO!

DemandingFemale 4 points 1 year ago.

LOL that was a bit stupid.

Thirteen Lives (2022)
Alien 4 points 1 year ago*.

The fact that there were no deaths (of the 13) is a bit unrealistic.
They could have killed off a couple of them. That would have been exciting.

DemandingFemale 3 points 1 year ago.

Does it have the part where Elon shows up to save the day, sulks that he doesn’t, and then starts calling people paedos? If not I’m definitely not watching.

Alex's War (2022)
DemandingFemale 7 points 1 year ago.

I know a few C words that describe Alex Jones - Charismatic is not one of them.

I wouldn’t call it a documentary either. It’s a greatest —I use the term very loosely— hits album you skip half of.

Takes one to love one! Nob

DemandingFemale 1 points 1 year ago.

Is that why I love My 600lb Life so much too?

Dirty Little Secret (2022)

Sabrina The Middle Age Hoarder.

Lifetime movie about a teenage girl struggling with her mother’s excessive hoarding.

Lifetime movies aren’t usually my thing but I loves me some hoarders so gave it a go. Now I definitely know why Lifetime movies aren’t usually my thing.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022)

A whole lotta nothing, but there are worse ways to spend 80 minutes.

There's Something in the Lake (Short 2021) (2021)
Alien 5 points 2 years ago*.

It was still kinda fun. The trench coat and ending music were a nice touch.

DemandingFemale 3 points 2 years ago.

This is the original short on YouTube - Theres Something in the Lake - Short

Judy Justice (2021)
DemandingFemale 4 points 2 years ago.

Second verse same as the first… Minus Byrd but now with a sexy and completely unnecessary stenographer? lol

There's Something in the Lake (Short 2021) (2021)
DemandingFemale 4 points 2 years ago.

Runtime is 1hr.

IMDb synopsis - A 13-year-old girl and her two friends fall asleep watching a monster movie and are literally sucked into its world.

Think ‘Are You Afraid of the Dark?’ but with less budget. Aimed at young teens - Jr High age. Not bad for what it is.

Day of the Dead (2021)
DemandingFemale 4 points 2 years ago.

SyFy + Zombies? Count me in! As someone who liked and misses Z Nation, this is filling the void. It’s nowhere near the same level of ZN WTFism, but it’s entertaining nevertheless. The Z’s looked great too.

Halloween Kills (2021)
DemandingFemale 7 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I don’t think I watched the same movie as the other reviewers because I thought it was shite, lol.
The acting was abysmal, the character tie-ins from the original were weak, and some of the practical effects were straight out of the 70s handbook.
They really should let sleeping psychotic serial killers lie.

I Know What You Did Last Summer (2021)
DemandingFemale 4 points 2 years ago.

One episode in and I’m out. Absolute drivel. Another series that feels like it’s targeted at high-schoolers but with excessive language, sex, and drugs - plus actors that can’t even hold a cigarette without looking awkward.

Just Beyond (2021)
Alpha_Jam 1 points 2 years ago.

So… how was it? :p

DemandingFemale 2 points 2 years ago.

Left a review. It’s a typical R.L Stine anthology targeted at teens, but watchable if you like the genre.

Just Beyond (2021)
DemandingFemale 1 points 2 years ago*.

Supernatural anthology series for teens. Along the same lines as The Haunting Hour, Goosebumps, Are You Afraid of the Dark, Amazing Stories 80s, Amazing Stories 2020.
Lots of familiar faces, nice production. If you enjoyed any of the above it’s a worthy addition to a playlist.

Sphere (1998)
DemandingFemale 2 points 2 years ago.

Fancied rewatching some 90s movies this weekend and landed on this. I remember quite liking it at the time, but on rewatch it has some really LOL-worthy performances from Hoffman and Stone. I honestly have no idea how Dustin Hoffman is so well regarded when he gives performances like this.
Keep an eye out for a cameo from Huey Lewis.

Thanks to the linkers!

NGL I have seen that, its terrible in a great sort of way, even seen the earlier film which was better and … even read the book that some ‘nutter’ was trying to sell on street as some sort of religious preaching. I sat and read entire thing while travelling. Utter religious babble but entertaining lol

DemandingFemale 2 points 2 years ago*.

I saw the original adaptation but never did read the book. The message is lost on me - unless the end of the world has a few Zombies, I’m not interested lol. I only watched the Cage one because I like Cage’s bad-but-good stuff.

Young Frankenstein (1974)
Arcangel2020 5 points 2 years ago*.

This movie is pure comedic Gold! One of my all-time favorite films from Director Mel Brooks (the others are Blazing Saddles and History of The World, Part 1), each and every time I watch this one? It’s as funny and hysterical as the first time I watched it as a little kid. Everything about this one is great…the acting, cast, the comedic timing/jokes as well as the hysterically clever take on the classic horror film Frankenstein.
If you’re having a bad day and/or especially if you want to just enjoy a movie that will make laugh from beginning to end? Just watch this one.

DemandingFemale 9 points 2 years ago.

You might also enjoy this one written and directed by Gene Wilder - The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes’ Smarter Brother

Knowing (2009)
xerox 2 points 2 years ago*.

This is the most Christian movie I have ever seen. Its cool they used actual images of angels from religious texts rather than the generic made up ‘humans with wings in tunics’, but over all interesting way to depict the rapture. Not something I believe in myself but it was entertaining way to deliver this sort of message.

3/5 Just because this was fun propaganda and I liked that they used ‘real’ images of angels of various hierarchy.

DemandingFemale 1 points 2 years ago.

Nicolas Cage did another rapture movie a few years after this - Left Behind FYI, it’s not great lol

How to Stay at Home (2021)
DemandingFemale 5 points 2 years ago*.

Not sure if the other commenters even watched them, but I did.

They are under 2 minutes long - episode 4 has all 3 shorts in one. And they are just Goofy being Goofy. There’s no forced ‘new normal’. They aren’t even close to being like the animated PSA’s I grew up seeing during commercials.

They are lovely little classic hand-drawn cartoons. Give’em a go.

Ghosts (2019)
DemandingFemale 6 points 2 years ago.

Absolutely fab! I could watch this ensemble all day. As others have already said, they have worked together for over a decade now and their onscreen chemistry just gets better and better. If you haven’t seen it, you should definitely check out the first 5 seasons of Horrible Histories

Misfits (2009) S2 E2
DaniBl 3 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

From what I recall he doesn’t show up until the last season or so. He came in to to fill a space left by some other original characters and it wasn’t the same. I like him as an actor, but wasn’t too happy about him in Misfits and think I stopped watching because of it.

DemandingFemale 5 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Joe Gilgun started in Season 3 after Robert Sheehan (Nathan) left. Lots of people feel the same as you and stopped watching when they reshuffled the cast but I really enjoyed it. It’s worth giving it another go.

Aftermath (2021)
DemandingFemale 3 points 2 years ago*.

We’ve watched it so you don’t have to. I agree with ShadowWolf - Lifetime horror with a lead actress you hope doesn’t survive just for being so bloody irritating. Nothing original.

The based on a true story thing should be taken with a leprechaun-sized grain of salt. I will reference the criminal case below in spoilers for those interested.

They used elements of the Jerry Rice and Janice Ruhter vs Kathy Rowe case.

The Djinn (2021)
DemandingFemale 1 points 2 years ago.

82 minutes - at least 80% of which were dialogue-less. As others have said, it would have made a much better short, either a series episode or part of an anthology movie. That being said, Ezra Dewey did a great job of carrying the bulk of the movie without uttering a word.

The Boy Behind the Door (2021)
DemandingFemale 2 points 2 years ago.

Shudder Original. A dark, slow-paced thriller with a very small cast. Child actors Ezra Dewey (The Djinn - same writers/directors) and Lonnie Chavis (This is Us) gave some great emotional performances. solid 3.5 but rounded up to 4

Jungle Cruise (2021)
DemandingFemale 5 points 2 years ago.

If you enjoy PG-13 adventure movies - The Mummy/Indiana Jones/Jumanji - then it’s a great 2hr ride. I’d say it’s tame enough for younger viewers if they’ve seen similar and survived.

Also stars Jack Whitehall - who finally gets to be in a Disney movie!

Dr. Death: The Undoctored Story (2021)
paul40au 4 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Very curious to here this story. Sounds very much like Jayant Patel and Harold Shipman. Its very chilling how these normal looking unassuming people turn out to be murderers…but then again, I am sure Dahmer and Bundy didnt have “Murderer” written on there foreheads

DemandingFemale 2 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

The difference between Duntsch/Patel and Shipman is Shipman was a GP/PCP who murdered his patients - at least 250 of them. Duntsch and Patel were just really, really incompetent surgeons.

Dr Death (2021)
DemandingFemale 9 points 2 years ago*.

Extremely easy binge. Gripped me at the very start of the first episode and didn’t let go. The acting from Baldwin, Slater and Jackson was top-shelf. Lots of poetic licence was taken, but it certainly doesn’t make the true crime it’s based on any more/less abhorrent.

The Walking Dead: Origins (2021)
DemandingFemale 5 points 2 years ago.

Good ol’ AMC is really flogging those dead horses.

I managed the first 10 minutes of Daryl’s episode and skimmed through the rest to see if it got any better - it didn’t. It’s basically the cast members reading character episode synopses you’d get in the TV Times. If you’ve already seen the show it’s pointless. If you haven’t seen the show - it’s doubly so.

Werewolves Within (2021)
DemandingFemale 2 points 2 years ago.

Amusing small-town whodunit. Small cast with lots of familiar faces. A slow burn, The Dead Don’t Die style of American comedy/horror.

The Ice Road (2021)

If you’re a Neeson fan and/or like your action movies with a heavy dose of implausibility and eye-roll-worthy delivery: you’ll love it.
It’s big, dumb and fun(ish)

Yawn! Far too long for what you get. Some creepy looking characters that amounted to nothing (Including Troy James the contortionist). Plot, acting, transitions, and finale were all a big hot mess.

LOL. The Asylum brought us Z Nation! They should have stuck with the original fun concept instead of trying to write a serious prequel. I miss the Z-weed and baby Z’esus.

Black Summer (2019)
DemandingFemale 3 points 2 years ago*. (Contains Spoilers)

If you thought season 1 was bleak, then buckle up, buttercup, it gets worse. The timeline jumps about all over the place, moreso than in season 1 and with a larger cast to deal with, so if you’re easily distracted you might wonder wtf is going on in places.
Plot and writing kinda sucked but the action shots were worth staying for.

Stormtroopers would find their aim embarrassing, though.

Army of the Dead (2021)
DemandingFemale 3 points 2 years ago*.

This has been a work in progress since Snyder did Dawn of the Dead. It’s easy to poke fun at it being filled with zombie/infected cliches and the merging of the heist/action/zombie, but that’s exactly what Snyder intended. Whether you liked it or not, it’s worth checking out the Making-Of videos. Imagine the aggravation that was caused by having to replace Chris D’Elia with Tig Notaro with solo/CGI shots.

Scream, Queen! My Nightmare on Elm Street (2019)
DemandingFemale 2 points 3 years ago*.

Anyone who has seen Freddy’s Revenge knows how much homoerotica poured in and out of the movie. It’s now seen as one of the first mainstream gay movies.
Mark Patton (Jesse) was just starting out in Hollywood and seemed to have a promising career until he was cast in Elm Street 2. By ‘85 the AIDs epidemic was hitting hard, homosexuality became front-page news, actors were outed and HIV tests were the norm during casting. The movie’s failures were blamed on the gay delivery by the actors - and not the fact it was written to contained gay bars, S&M, half-naked boys and very naked middle-aged gay men.

It’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea but if you’re a fan of the franchise and/or interested in the subject matter it’s definitely worth a watch.

The Irregulars (2021)
DemandingFemale 2 points 3 years ago.

It’s based on the graphic novels but hasn’t translated well to screen, imo. It’s a weird mix of modern language and music set in Victorian London. I’m not quite sure who their target demographic was. It feels like it wants to be a PG Doctor Who type show but has far too much cursing and bloody-violence for a pre-watershed audience. It’s rated TV-14, but some parents may have an issue with their young teens watching mature content. You’ve been warned.

Breach (2020)
DemandingFemale 2 points 3 years ago.

On paper, it seems to have something for everyone - plagues, parasites, spaceships, action, horror, Thomas Jane, Bruce Willis, but all it ended up being was a giant homage to every other movie that came before it, with little in the way of originality and some really crappy acting. Having said that, it’s still worth a watch just for the giggles. IMDb ratings 2.9 (lol)

Hall (2021)
DemandingFemale 5 points 3 years ago.

Did absolutely nothing for me. B+ Artsy nonsense using a virus -and a pretty boring virus at that- as a means to highlight domestic violence.
Large sections of the movie are English subtitled from Japanese (cast includes Yumiko Shaku)
If you like slow burn psychological horror with a message you might enjoy.

The Haunted Hotel (2021)
DemandingFemale 7 points 3 years ago*.

Unless you are either into spooky anthologies or British filming style you won’t rate it highly. 8 shorts based in various time periods. Small cast, no big familiar faces, made for TV feel about it. No gore. No jumps. Just old-fashioned ghost tales. 5/10

Guy Pearce movies can be a bit hit and miss, and this is definitely a good example of a miss. It’s got that Blockbusters Bargain Bin horror feel about it - couple of recognizable names, mediocre acting, cliched plot. IMDb ratings have reduced to 4.5/10.

Either I’ve watched too many disaster movies or I’m just difficult to please, but I found it to be a cliched, predictable borefest. I hadn’t seen any reviews or trailers, yet managed to call the entire thing within the first 10 minutes.
It’s more Drama/Action, and still the action was a bit meh. As others have said, there is far more entertainment to be had watching 2012 - Hell, even Geostorm was better.
