Is this a more of documentary or a movie?

Pretty darn good, about the historical Vlad Tepes (“Tzepesh” and means “Impaler”), not the vampire of Bram Stoker fiction, but the tormented, real life Wallachian (Romanian) medieval prince who stood against the might of the Ottoman Empire with nothing but a few trained men by his side, and his reputation as master of psychological warfare. Some good impaling imagery.

Very much a director’s movie; just did not buy into the director’s vision, and only labored through for Joaquin, and the theme.

So glad I gave this a shot. I do remember the crime, and this is a state of the art dramatization of how it went down.

I’ve watched this several times but am still in a fog as to what actually happened, creepy as it may be.

This is the kind of “realism” that Herman Melville had to write (called The Ambiguities) to make money as Moby-Dick was not raking in the old cash like he needed. About obsessive relationships, and Guillaume Depardieu is really good.

The Epic of Gilgamesh is older than the bible and speaks of a great flood, a boat being built, and animals being gathered. Time to do more reading and less spewing.

Pretty disturbing, especially the pregnant girl scene, without the redeeming graces of “Clockwork Orange”.

Quirky, creepy thriller that kept me watching. Claes Bang is one cool cat, and the location shots were sometimes scenic, other times foreboding.

Watching cam videos of by standers in Belarus being yanked off the streets and shoved into unmarked vans by unidentified thugs is so surreal and horrifying.

Subtle and delicious. Will watch again with friends.

Makes me hit pause and google legal jargon more than I’d care. Don’t know what’s going on in court half the time,but keeps pulling me back regardless.
