Doodstream has been a bit hinky for a couple days now. The links sometimes buffer a bit longer than usual but they work.
I saw the American version of this story staring Richard Gere and it was excellent. Since the story is true and happened in Japan, I imagine they did a good version of the story.
It actually happened in Japan. Hachiko is pretty much a national hero there. He has his own bronze statue next to Shibuya Train Station in Tokyo.
When I saw the title in the comment area I thought this was about the variety show that 1st aired on tv in 1972. It was a late-night musical variety show and I first saw Rod Stewart on this show. Needless to say, this is not about a variety show, but a sci-fi drama with some well known actors, Sam Shepard, Adam Driver just to name a few. I’ll put this on my list to watch.
There’s a youtube channel for that show. Tons of full episodes. Really good stuff.
If you are in need of a good cry you should definitely seek this show out
Must all current sci-fi resort to time travel storylines? Enough already.
Horrible episode but it actually may have worked if it had Bill Murray in it.
I read somewhere that there might be a Thomas Covenant movie in the works.
Great show. I miss it and can’t find it anywhere
All of the episodes are on youtube. There are several season by season playlists
If I wanted to hear someone tell a long boring story I’ll call my Uncle Jack. This show is just as excruciatingly bad. At least it was easier to get away from this than it is from Uncle Jack.
We have more ways that we are alike than ways in which we are different. When we build upon common ground our fear of the ‘other’ is much less.
Why anyone would ‘retell’ a bona fide classic is beyond me. This attempt fails as expected.
That opening scene of consecutive kills was pretty hokey but the show IS getting better. Too bad it’s the final season.
How disappointing. After reading all of the series and episode comments folks have left, I’m taking a pass on this.
I really hope they come through with this. I don’t think I can handle another debacle like “The Shannara Chronicles”.
So sad to find out The Fritz is gone for good. Neither Jersey Jon, Danielle or Robbie can ever come close to filling Frank’s shoes. They’re all as boring as hell.
I agree for the most part. I wouldn’t exactly refer to the others as boring but the chemistry between Frank and Mike was unique and one of the reasons I enjoyed the show.
Seems good and a little familiar. Inspired by Japan’s 2020 series ‘Alice In Borderland’ perhaps?
This is more a comment on WWE, Because I keep hearing this; I wish people would refer to “WWE” in the past tense as “WWF”. I grew up with the WWF, you arent fooling anyone by calling it by the WWE as a clip plays in the background with a giant WWF banner on the wall. I get it, legality and all, it just irritates the wrestling fan in me.
Not a fan of the character, am rather indifferent about the actor, love the show. Go figure.
This thing is all over the place regarding the timeline. Jumps so much that it is hard to keep interested. The 90’s version is far superior to this.
A story was told of “an arrogant and selfish person’s extremely poor decision. A tragic waste of life.” It wasn’t a lame attempt.
It was done and it was sad.
Everything about it was sad. His death. The people in his life (his family chose to sit and wait rather than actively try and find him) and the new ones he met along the way cared so much about this man that they did next to nothing to dissuade him from an obviously bad and dangerous ‘adventure’. The movie was sad but not in the traditional thinking. It was a ill-conceived attempt to make a martyr out of a borderline sociopath ( why were there no friends depicted in this film?) and serial abandoner. This film is a well-made stinker.
A lame Hollywood attempt to romanticize an arrogant and selfish persons extremely poor decision. A tragic waste of life.
I think that the only reason people get behind this stuff is for the exercise. One must reach, stretch and contort to make these prophesies work.
Really glad to see this movie getting some attention here. It’s one of my favorites.
Well, it has been a while since a main character was killed off. Of course it had to be my favorite one.
A mishmash of nonsense scenes. Watching it is like staring at Escher’s stairs.
I don’t usually like non-action-packed scifi but this show is spectacular. Well written and finely acted. Fingers crossed for another season.
Is it me or does the thing that is supposed to be a cat sound like Larry from the 3 Stooges? Uncanny.
Really great movie. I love movies about catching fish for money and this one is really great based on a true story
Wow, that’s very specific. Are there many and can you suggest some good ones?
LegitBoss — How about “apeople”? :)
Not really. And FYI, the etymology of “amen”: From Middle English amen, from Old English, from Ecclesiastical Latin āmēn, from Ancient Greek ἀμήν (amḗn), from Biblical Hebrew אָמֵן (ʾāmēn, “certainly, truly”)
Pleasant family fare. Some good laughs but I feel like Chevy Chase instead of DeNiro would have made it funnier. At least in the slapstick department.
Well, I’m going to put it this way. I’m 58, and my life span is getting shorter every day. Considering everything else that is going on in the world, there is a lot of other things that I need to be paying attention to, so I have been culling a lot of shows from the herd so to speak.
I want to give this a chance, esp. now that I see that they seem to have a plan, and things are changing, but if something does not change my mind right fast in the nest say, 2 episodes, this will be culled as well.
Just too much on my plate anymore to be wasting time on shows with no meaning or substance at this point. Bring me something meaningful, or entertain me, if that’s the goal,or just step off….
The show was always kind of juvenile in its writing, but was still somehow enjoyable. But, now it’s just dumb garbage. Nothing funnier than actors delivering lines through a mask. As Peter Griffin would say, “It insists upon itself.” 🤣
I have never understood the general attitude of disgust surrounding a job that can be described as ‘using your body to engage in an activity that makes money’.
Because when most people think of prostitutes they automatically refer to the ones on the streets trying to survive day to day because of a drug habit or whatever. Dicey.
I think this guy had a Republican on his show once and he wound up so over-wrought and flustered that he has had nothing but Democrats on ever since.
I just noticed they’re letting the language flow. A show with a majority black cast that usually censors the word “nigga” anyway. Now it’s used openly with no censorshit. I’m prould of this reality show keeping it a little bit realer.
Watch if you want to see great actors doing well but if you want to learn some accurate ancient history read a book.
As far as doodstream is concerned, there is an option available in the settings to force people to turn off their adb. I’d like to ask everyone who uploads dood links to check their settings and make sure this box is not checked.
