The Hunt (2020)

Such a great movie. A satire that needs to be seen by all. Betty Gilpin is fantastic in this.

Westworld (2016)
Alien 2 points 4 years ago.

Is this your attempt at condescension toward me? Because, I know what everyone was saying up until you left your comment, which seemed condescending, and, somewhat deceptive in it’s own right, toward viewers of the video.
No matter.

McShagan -1 points 4 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

It was in no way an attempt to belittle you in any way. I was stating a fact about the writing team for this series. I was just answering this. (wut? The hell are you talking about?). There was nothing condescending in my statement towards Jade or Jack. There was a strong dislike of the deceptive writing practices of the show. It left a lot of people confused and missing some major plot points not because of any short comings on the viewer part.
I answered your question to the best of my ability believing that you had read it as a stand alone comment. Seeing that your name is not in any of the comments above my original post, I fail to see how you took any insult in the first place. If of course being insulted on behalf of others over non existing slights that you perceive is something you are into, then by all means get as snotty as you like. You will fit right in with the little A holes that plague this site trying their hardest to ruin this site for everyone.

This you tube video is posted above in Jades comment. It explained West Worlds first 2 seasons in 15 minutes. Most people that watched the series then this explanation were commenting on how much they missed while watching the show. This was my reply to her post. If you follow the thread up you will see it all.

Young comics are not normally this spot on. This was a great set.
I will leave plenty of room below for you to explain your opposition to my comments. If you don’t possess the mental ability to do so just down vote it as usual.

Or you can cram sess with this half-hour breakdown of both seasons (and boy did I miss alot!): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFZs9K7m-SM

McShagan -6 points 4 years ago.

That was their intention with West World. They used deceptive writing practices to keep you confused about what was happening. It was meant to make you think it was smartly written which it wasn’t. I am not saying it wasn’t a fun watch it was but don’t confuse a smart story with a misleading premise. ; )

Having never read the book I can not try to compare it. I will say I enjoyed it due to the cast. Ronan and Pugh were a delight to watch and Chalamet’s performance was enjoyable as well. I look forward to seeing what he does as Paul Atreides in the new Dune movie. 4/5

Saw this today at the cineplex. Great watch- a little long but necessary in order to tell the story. True stories are always more interesing. Luke Wilson is now my favorite asshole actor. Oh, what a mistake- I meant Josh Lucas, not Luke Wilson- sorry.

McShagan 2 points 4 years ago*.

Agreed I needed a intermission to watch this and it was well worth it. I have had to work with a few guys like his character and am amazed at how often they get their way because the upper management can’t see thru their bullshit or just don’t care.I think you meant Josh Lucas.

You sure got me good with that one. I am not sure what it means but you keep using these descriptive terms on others here on this site. Look at your post replying to fin apparently you are at -4 because I am a hypocrite. Now watch as I magically vote you down to 5 because I can vote twice here when I feel that someone deserves my attention. Do you see it is at 0 now? I do not down vote your dumb-ass because you are not worth the attention that I could pay to someone or something else that matters.

Don’t take it too personally. I’ve seen downvotes on comments that have helped answer questions rather than express opinions and such.

At any rate, thanks for telling about this. I’m not completely familiar with all of American history.

Dethanos you start off by accusing Fin of wearing panties and take offense to the term “troll” when it is directed at you. It seemed to be appropriate in the context it was used. You on the other hand keep using words when you clearly do not understand their meaning. Throwing out these buzzwords in no way makes you look like you know what you are talking about, and in fact causes you to loose the credibility that you are striving for. I find it amusing that while using the term “textbook” to describe what you claim to be bigotry. It is quite obvious you have never had much experience reading them. If you take that to be an insult to your character and intelligence, I must tell you that you cannot insult that which does not exist. I look forward to your reply of incorrectly used descriptive terms.

Anyone notice a young Kevin Bacon at 9min in? Gotta love these older movies and then spot the young actors. I was watching a few months ago The Twilight Zone or something like it and saw a young Kurt Russel he was abt 6yo. It was in Black n white and a spoken part also. Hum; now trying to find the show but it is not listed on his IMDB, so need to watch again if I can remember what series it was. I know there is Twilight Zone and some others like it that I can not think of their names. Any ideas please post. Yea def 80s cheese but entertaining at best.

Annihilation (2018)
BellaMia1 0 points 4 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

The visual effects in this movie were pretty impressive, considering today’s standards. It was pretty gory at times. Beware. But that’s about one of the very few things that were good about this movie. The very slow pace was boring, I find myself doing other things, while not missing anything about the story. Then, most of the actions of the characters made no sense, scientifically speaking. Too many illogical behaviors. Too many stupid things said by some of the characters, that went against the actions they were doing. Even the mental state of each member in the group was questionable. They were undisciplined, which was annoying. Especially with the doctor selfishness. A leader does not leave his/her crew behind. I had to fast-forward to the last 20mins, because the storyline was going nowhere. And by the end of the movie, I was annoyed. This movie had so much potential, but it was bugged down unnecessary long scenes, an incoherent script, and a lazy finality, that doesn’t satisfy. More times should’ve been spent on the “alien or aliens”, and their motivation. Instead, it just ends. But what happens next with the “couple”? We don’t know. I hate it when stops like that. So for me, this was nothing more than a one-time watch. Beautiful to look at at least. 2/5 stars.

McShagan 5 points 4 years ago*.

If I may Bella, their behavior was erratic true they were all heavily flawed individuals and the Dr knew it she was a psychiatrist. They were chosen for that very reason. The Dr had no intention of anyone returning because her flaw was cancer she was dying and had nothing to lose. Also the movie was poorly edited as well because some important info was left out from the the final cut. The title of the movie for instance was the control word used to delete memories from the women should the need arise and apparently it did. Do you remember when they woke up with no memory of setting up camp and there had been more food eaten than they could account for. That code word Annihilation had be used but it had been cut from the movie. I loved the concept that a life form with no true concept of itself needing only to find a way to survive by altering the life around it until found a suitable form. There was no intellect there until it found it’s awareness in Oscar Isaac’s character. It had found awareness in the others but their flaws made them unsuitable because they were not on a course for a sustained existence. While Oscar was dealing with the pain of betrayal the alien found a means to survive through his love of Natalie Portmans character. He had no intentions of continuing the relationship with her so his form was copied with out the memory’s of her betrayal. Her flaw was her guilt for betraying him but her love for him was what drove her. So she was flawed but the flaw didn’t hamper the coupling in fact it was why she didn’t need to be replaced. So finding it’s best way to survive in them It ended all other attempts of finding a form to continue living. I thought it was pretty cool myself, even though the movie had it’s issues.
