Dreamkatcher (2020)

This was a pretty awesome movie. I love supernatural movies especially those involving kids. They seem to be the creepiest for some reason. I’ve noticed that Grindstone seems to put out some really good horror flicks as of late. Maybe they always have and I’m just noticing it more and more in the last couple years. (Like, more than the usual.) The acting was really good and of course it had my girl Lin Shaye, playing in it so i was already pumped up to watch it because of that. She may be typecasted, but she’s f**king good at roles so who cares?? She doesn’t. I was a bit annoyed at the ending because you aren’t sure of what happens to one or both of the main 2. Did they die r didn’t they?? Did they catch lip herpesorreahsyohilitis from a slutty demon who used too many hosts without protection and it turn them into a zombie that only eats meat dipped in guacamole paste?? I mean, we want to know these things.

We Summon the Darkness (2020)

Awesome movie. There’s been a lot of movies that I’ve seen recently that have been set in the 80’s. Must be a trend..anyway, i was totally into this one. Great actors. I’m not gonna lie those chicks frightened me. 😉😂😂

Sea Fever (2020)
Momof3angels 2 points 3 years ago.

Not too shabby. Nothing original in the story as we’ve seen this same scenario in countless other films just like this one. I did learn something new from it though. I had no idea that it was bad mojo/superstition to have a red headed woman aboard a ship. That’s so dumb. I mean, what the hell?? I’m so glad the human race has progressed intellectually since our ancestors time here on earth. The stuff that some them cooked up is crazy and its amazing that they were then able to convince many of this “knowledge” and so it was passed on as truth down through the generations. Admittedly, there’s a lot they got right, but i get a good chuckle off of all the crap the got wrong. Anyway, there are far better movies like thus one, but was a decent watch.

Porno (2020)
Momof3angels 3 points 3 years ago.

This was pretty effing cool. Especially that “balls blowing up” aftermath scene. Hehehe!! The prosthetics used in this movie were quite realistic. I didn’t laugh hysterically, but i found it pretty humorous and entertaining. It was a nice time passer or if you just want something not so serious.

In the Trap (2021)
Momof3angels 1 points 3 years ago.

This wasn’t a bad movie, but it was okay. It was a bit confusing at times, but i think it was just because it wasn’t put together all that well. The story overall was good, but it could have been set up or thought out better.

Impact Event (2018)
Momof3angels 2 points 3 years ago.

I knew this was going to be a low budget indie flick, but i tried it anyway hoping for a suprise, but… Not even close. The special effects, if you dare to even call them that, were absofuckinglutely horrible and looked like they used the same technology and equipment from the very beginning of cgi. The acting wasn’t much better. Do yourself a favor a skip this one.

Dead by Dawn (2020)
Momof3angels 1 points 3 years ago*.

Mehh…it was alright, i guess. The actors weren’t award worthy or anything, but they had their moments. The sleazebag of an uncle actor did a good job coming off as that type of person. The crazy chick did good for the most part, but then she’d go way overboard with it sometimes and just become annoying. There wasn’t much to the story and it was one seen played out countless times, but whatever. It is what it is. One thing i did absolutely LOVE about this film was that a black guy was cast as one of the leads and he had one of the best roles. Oh yeah, and he wasn’t killed off in the first few scenes either. Right on!!

Gold Dust (2020)
Momof3angels 3 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Not a bad movie and I thought it was pretty funny. It’s sort of an off-beat comedy about 2 friends on a treasure hunting mission when they accidentally get mixed in with a major drug lord and then their life gets totally flipped upside down. It’s basically like a cat and mouse game with funny mishaps and characters that make it so much more fun to watch. I don’t recall seeing any of the actors in anything else before this, but they were all fairly good. The actor David Wall, that plays one of the main characters named Fink, reminds me so freaking much of Owen Wilson. They don’t look exactly alike, but they favor enough in looks and demeanor that if someone told me, ‘yeah, that’s because they’re real life brothers.’…then I’d probably totally believe them. I couldn’t stop thinking about that throughout the movie or how that role would have been great for Wilson. I don’t know what the PG rating on this film is and in no way am i qualified to rate this movie per the MPAA, but regardless I say that I consider this a family friendly adventure/comedy and even though there is some violence, the level of violence is NOTHING nor anywhere near even half the violence seen in your kids favorite adventure or superhero movies so I’m confident in saying this is an okay watch for the whole family. I love the lil quirky, odd and off-beat characters like those that made up this movie. They made it a fun watch.

An English Haunting (2020)
Momof3angels 2 points 3 years ago.

The first half of the movie was kind of boring, but then things started picking up a bit. It still ended up being quite disappointing. Had i not already come so far i would have cut it off. The story was pretty good, but the quality of the acting, production, etc., was mehh…not so much. This movie would have been okay if this were an late 80’s or early 90’s film and a recent one.

Seven Stages to Achieve Eternal Bliss (2020)
Momof3angels 2 points 3 years ago.

This was such a crazy, weird, and a quirky kind of funny story with lots of originality. Tgey picked the perfect cast for this. It won’t be for everyone, but i liked it.

Daybreakers (2010)
Momof3angels 2 points 3 years ago.

I hadn’t seen this movie in a while. It didn’t sound familiar when I first put it on so I thought maybe I hadn’t seen it. However, seconds into the first scene I realized I had. It was as completely kick-ass as I remembered it to be!! Especially for a movie made then as far as the effects and all that. This is one of my top 5 vampire movies of all time. I love the take on the vampire story and the picked one hell of a cast.

Don't Let Them In (2020)
Momof3angels -1 points 4 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

This one suprised me. I wasn’t expecting much from it, but it had some awesome and twisted characters, pretty good story with a fitting soundtrack. The actors were actually fairly good too. I will say that i should have seen that little twist coming from a mile away, but they knocked me off that scent trail because of the comments and references made about the well-being of the kids and would insinuate that their counterpart didn’t care enough or at all, etc. My thought was that someone who’s going to sacrifice all kinds of kids usually doesn’t give a rats ass about how their home life is or if they’re being treated properly so maybe i was wrong to consider anything afoul there. this movie wasn’t scary nor did it have me gripping my seat with excitement or anything anything, but it kept it interesting, entertaining and kept it moving. It didn’t stick to one area too terribly long and i like that because sometimes moviemakers play with that line and we end up feeling like we’re stuck in a boring, redundant and never-ending scene.

M.O.M. Mothers of Monsters (2020)
Momof3angels 0 points 4 years ago.

I love me some found footage/POV films so i was overly excited when i put this on and saw it was one. This wasn’t so much of a typical fast paced thriller per say, more of a slow psychological horror. That kid was definitely playing major head games and messing her up big time. I’m so glad I never experienced that as a mom, though i know some that have had experienced kids like that. This made for good TV though.

Blow the Man Down (2020)
Momof3angels 0 points 4 years ago.

Pretty cool little movie. Watching this movie makes me so thankful that i live in a tropical area. Lord knows i wouldn’t fare well in those freezing temperatures like that. There were a few minor plot holes in this movie, but overall it was well told and pretty dang interesting.

Emma. (2020)
Momof3angels 0 points 4 years ago.

Pretty good movie if you like period pieces. The acting was superb and the film was visually pleasing. I loved the costumes though I’m so glad those hairstyles were left in the past. It has more of an epigrammatic style comedy.

Greenlight (2019)
Momof3angels -1 points 4 years ago.

To me this was just an average low budget horror flick. Decent story, but neither it nor the characters had any depth whatsoever and it wasn’t very pleasing visually. However, it was okay if you’re bored and have nothing better to do.

Hooking Up (2020)
Momof3angels -1 points 4 years ago.

Really good comedy that’s full of hilarious moments and lines. Really good story too. Plus you can’t go wrong with Brittany snow. I just love her.

Miss Fisher & the Crypt of Tears (2020)
Momof3angels 1 points 4 years ago.

This reminds me of a 1950’s-60’s Sherlock holmes type film, but with a female detective. It was okay, but not great

Madness in the Method (2019)
Momof3angels 0 points 4 years ago.

The movie was okay, i didn’t find it all that funny though. I never really found their other movies all that funny either to be honest, but I still enjoyed watching them. There was nothing that made me laugh out like some other comedic movies have, but it was humorous at times.

Lucy in the Sky (2019)
Momof3angels 2 points 4 years ago.

I guess I’m the oddball in the bunch again because I actually thought it was a good movie. I’ve always found the real story fascinating so i wanted to check this out even though i knee that it was only loosely based on what lisa nowak, well, in this movie her name is lucy cola, went through and i must say… Natalie Portman was phenomenal in portraying that character. she truly is an amazing actress and easily convinces you and makes you feel what her character feels. Everything visually from the set and costumes to the cgi was spot on and looked so realistic. This is a well made and interesting film.

Werewolf (2019)
Momof3angels 1 points 4 years ago.

Great movie!! Lots of originality, good story and really good acting. It’s not the typical werewolf, but still really good nonetheless. Definitely recommend this one.

Nesting Dolls (2019)
Momof3angels 0 points 4 years ago.

This was an okay movie. At least if you want to have something to pass the time anyway. The acting was decent but the story could have used some work. That or maybe it was the directing. I’m not 100% sure on which

I Am Fear (2020)
Momof3angels 0 points 4 years ago.

This was a very strange, confusing and slow movie. The only fairly good part was the last 15 minutes. They jumbled up the story really good. Too many plot holes, bad directing and execution. There were too many things going on that didn’t make sense. they just throw a bunch of random bits and pieces and called it a story. I think whoever wrote it had too many ideas and just tried cramming it all together and lost track of where he was going or what he was doing. I tried watching this a few times because I’d get interrupted so i wanted to give it a fair shake to make sure it wasn’t just me. However, each time i came to the same conclusion and welcomed the interruption. Major fail.

Blood on Her Name (2020)
Momof3angels 1 points 4 years ago.

This movie was really, really good. How bout that ending though??! I never saw that coming. I think i was more excited about being blindsided for once than anything else. The acting was pretty good though the dumbass lead chic was doing too much and started getting on my nerves a bit with that sheer look of terror and that loud shallow breathing she did for half the movie, but i guess to each their own. She really made a lot of bad choices. Anyway, loved this movie.

The Invisible Man (2020)
Momof3angels 1 points 4 years ago.

Fantastic movie, fantastic acting!! The story isn’t necessarily an original story, but still is a really good and kinda scary one nonetheless. Especially for a female. The entire cast was top of the line and never waivered from greatness. The ending bits were predictable, but it was still awesome watching it unfolding. I loved this movie.

Luna Nera (2020) S1 E6
Momof3angels 0 points 4 years ago.

Dang!! I didn’t see any of that coming. Fantastic season finale. I really hope there’s a season 2 coming and that they give us more than just the 6 episodes we got out of season 1. Love this show!!

Wendy (2020)
Momof3angels 3 points 4 years ago.

This was a cute lil fantasy movie to watch with the kids or if you’re a big kid like me who still likes kid movies. I really liked this version of the story and thought the cast, especially the kids, did a spectacular job.

Pandamonium (2020)
Momof3angels 0 points 4 years ago.

This probably should have been labeled a horror/comedy because there wasn’t much seriousness going on in this movie at all. I wouldn’t say that the comedy made me laugh out, but it was still a tad bit humorous. The actors tried to be goofy in their sattire, but at times it came off as a little over the top. In their defense, I believe that’s just the kind of comedy that the English do. Some of the actors actually pulled it off well at times, but others were just simply annoying as hell and dampened the whole thing. That fight scene at the end…like truly…what the actual eff??😂Personally i wouldn’t recommend this as there are far better movies to watch, but if you must give in to the urge to watch this then lower your expectations to the lowest setting.

Cruel Peter (2020)
Momof3angels 0 points 4 years ago.

I really liked this one. I thought it was going to be a foreign movie because it says Italy on the page, but 99% of it is spoken in English so that was a plus. The acting was pretty good though I didn’t really recognize any of them. I loved the creepy effects, makeup, and costumes. Round of 👏 applause for the part of the production team that designed all of that and put it together. I really liked the story too and thought it was well told. It’s unique and interesting. creepy, but not scary.

Wolf (2019)
Momof3angels 0 points 4 years ago*.

This had potential in the story, it just wasn’t executed well. The acting was pretty good and everything looked great visually, but it was missing that it factor and a bit of imagination. It was okay as far as something to pass the time. I just feel they missed the mark on this one.

Killer in Suburbia (2020)
Momof3angels 0 points 4 years ago.

This was one of the better lifetime movies that I’ve seen. I don’t usually like these films because they’re usually too cheesy for me to really get into, but this one was fairly good. There was nothing original per say, but it was still pretty interesting to watch even though you pretty much know what will happen.

The Social Ones (2019)
Momof3angels -1 points 4 years ago*.

This was a mockumentary about mock YouTube and Insta “influencers” and what they go through and their lives. It was cute and at times a tad bit humorous, but I wouldn’t call it funny. I only watched a little over 30 minutes and had already had my fill. It probably would have been better as a short vs. a feature length. Needless to say i turned it off shortly after the 30 minute mark.

A Wakefield Project (2019)
Momof3angels -1 points 4 years ago.

It waa obvious from the very beginning that this was low budget indie type movie and though the acting wasn’t the best and was remnicent of what I’d expect to see in a soap opera, i decided to give it a shot because it sounded like it had potential to be a decent movie. Plus I saw Dennis Andres was playing in this along with a few other familiar faces so i thought it couldn’t be all bad. I was wrong, they couldn’t save it. it was kinda bad. The cgi was really amateurish and the ghosts looked more like cartoons than anything. Actors can do a perfect job, but if the rest of the production is garbage, then the movie will be garbage no matter how good the actors do. By the hour mark (on top of the already bad cgi) the dialogue and story became so cheesey that i couldn’t take it seriously anymore. It was so bad at times that became more comical than the thrilling and intensity that the moviemakers were more than likely shooting for. You can’t win them all i guess. I recommend passing on this one.

Impossible Monsters (2019)
Momof3angels 1 points 4 years ago.

This was a very weird movie. The scoring alone was odd, but haunting. I was debating turning it off after nothing much happened within an hour except for the monotonous sleep therapy scenes and boring filler scenes, but i had already invested that much time and that it had to start getting better at some point.
I was wrong though. It wasn’t put together well very well either which made it worse. This was a real bummer of a movie.

The Dare (2020)
Momof3angels 0 points 4 years ago.

Ehh, this was okay. Nothing spectacular or original really, but it was a fairly good watch to pass the time.

Escape from Pretoria (2020)
Momof3angels 1 points 4 years ago.

Fantastic film!! Phenomenal acting and such a good story. I was really impressed with this movie for many reasons and highly recommend the watch. You won’t be disappointed, I promise. I don’t know how much of this movie is based on the actual story of the escape or how much was added for cinematic value, but it was really interesting and has a dramatic intensity that will have you glued to the screen and gripping the edge of your seat. I didn’t expect to like this movie as much as I did. Good stuff.

Only (2020)
Momof3angels 1 points 4 years ago.

This turned out to be much better than i thought it would be. The actors did a great job with this one. Such a terrifying situation to be in. This story definitely got me thinking. I wouldn’t want to live like that.

Becoming (2020)
Momof3angels 0 points 4 years ago.

I absolutely loved this movie!! It reminded me a lot of the movie “fallen” with denzel Washington as far as the antagonist characteristics goes. I loved that movie so it’s no wonder I like this one so much. Loved the creepy scoring too. Perfect for this film.

Onward (2020)
Momof3angels 1 points 4 years ago.

This was a fantastic movie. I loved the characters and the way they were all designed. It was all really creative and super entertaining and fun to watch.

The Dark Red (2020)
Momof3angels 1 points 4 years ago.

This turned out to be a pretty good flick. I wasn’t so sure about it at first, but it really sucks you in after it gets going. It’s a slow starter, but it’s worth hanging in there. The actors were fairly good and the story was pretty freaking awesome.

Final Cut (2019)
Momof3angels 0 points 4 years ago.

This was super predictable, but it was okay as something to pass the time. Low budget indie/ homemade kind of movie, but one of the better ones that I’ve seen.

Bloodshot (2020)
Momof3angels -2 points 4 years ago.

Pretty good movie. Not much as far as originality goes, but it was still entertaining nonetheless. If you like vin diesel then you’ll like this movie.

Just Mercy (2020)

Phenomenal movie from beginning to end. Superb acting, great production. This is definitely one to watch.

Into the Dark (2018) S2 E6
Momof3angels 0 points 4 years ago.

This episode was actually pretty good which is a good thing because I had grown to be disappointed in the show after watching the last few episodes and I had considered unfollowing the show if that was going to be a continuing running theme. Thankfully they did a 1i0° and got back on track. Hopefully they continue. I really liked the cast. They were pretty much all on the younger side, but not annoying. I thought they were very easy on the eyes, easily likeable and their acting was pretty good too so that was plus. I really enjoyed the story, but then again I usually love anything alien👽. Oh yeah, it has a killer soundtrack too. Definitely a thumbs up from me.
