but would it have gotten a screen adaptation if not for the popularity of OMintB? debatable.

There has been speculation that the long-anticipated 3rd installment of this franchise could finally be happening. Danny Boyle confirmed that he and Alex Garland have had serious discussions about the project and Cillian Murphy has expressed interest in reprising his role. Given the length of time since the 2nd movie and the nature of the Rage virus, the working title will most likely be changed to 28 Years Later.
So it’s kind of a rip-off of Only Murders in the Building. Let’s hope the casting and writing can overcome the lack of originality.
The Thursday Murder Club follows a group of pensioners living in a luxury retirement community who set out to solve the murder of a property developer. Author Richard Osman revealed that Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, and Ben Kingsley will play three of the four sleuths. No release date yet.
A very young Elon Musk! I thought he was pro-AI…wouldn’t mind knowing his reasoning in supporting/participating in this project.
Very good watch! Even the supporting actors were favorites. Cautionary of course but not too preachy.
4 of 5 for me.
Truth be told, this never would have caught my interest if it weren’t for the recap I watched on Y-Tube. It hit my feed on account of me watching recaps all the time, not because of the subject matter. But, once I watched some of the recap, I hurried over to watch the whole movie. And it was well worth the watch! Interesting take on the groundhog day time loop. Watched it twice ‘cause I wanted to figure it out for myself but I still had to re-watch the recap ‘cause I couldn’t. Highly recommend this one if you’re into time loops.
PS. The recap I watched: Family Ends Up Trapped in a Time Loop For 35 Years Driving on an Endless Road
It’s nice to watch lighthearted stuff every once in a while, but this looks too kiddy action for me. I know it’s just the trailer…still the other Transformer movies were definitely for adults.
Slow roll at start but excellent battle. Better than Part One. Snyder delivers!!
Holy cow! This was just like a car crash: horrifyingly trauma-inducing but I couldn’t look away!!
And to think, I dislike Westerns!
Can’t figure out why I even went “all in!”
Oh…Fahey and Adkins…damn! I always fall for the uber testosterone ones!
So, revenge as that famously cold dish…not quite. I liked the sophomoric attempt at misdirection, but there was something off putting in the delivery…or was it the timing…or both?
Only one writer to blame here (Capaldi). I’ve always been leery of projects where an unknown writer is also a cast member, especially when cast as the lead.
And it seemed almost inhumane to see both Jackson and Cassel in supporting roles to an unknown. The denouement fell short due to the casting. In fact, I believe the writer’s ego made the casting a mistake. IMO, Jackson made more sense as the detective in the active investigation with Cassel as the consultant framing Capaldi (or even Hannah) for the murders. Even the supporting cast is comprised of seasoned actors that seemed under-utilized: John Hannah, Kate Dickie (the Chief), Brian McCardie
As I write this, I’m wondering if it was a poorly written script that the talent couldn’t save or is it just that an egotistic writer got in the way of the casting…hmm…or both?
Too bad…it could’ve been a contender!

Well, I hung in there…it was a big “meh” for me, though. You were soooooo right!
Only if you mean, 🤮. lol This doesn’t look so good, we watched the first 10 minutes and boy was it wooden.
O. M. G.
It’s Milla, b!t@h!!
I only watched the trailer so I’m just fan-girling over Milla but IYKYK! Am I right or what?!
Delicious!! Olivia did not disappoint and Timothy Spall was excellent! Well done all around!
There’s today’s watch. A revisit of the movie and then a binge of this.
Great idea! I don’t remember that detail in the description, about the dad hiring Ripley, being in the movie.
Sigh! There goes my To Do list!
Edit: Just read the movie’s description…I guess I missed that detail!
Granted, I’m only 15 mins into the 1st episode and I do like the neo-noir style, which is probably why I’m getting “Chinatown” (1974) vibes but, if you’re into that style, I think this one’s a winner. Hopefully, it pans out. Also, it seems made for Farrell…fits him like a worn pair of shoes!
PS. The minute I saw the granddaughter’s pics is when I got the abused runaway vibe…reminding me of Faye Dunaway in Chinatown.

I just know my fellow Travelers (waiting for that portal to open up nearby) are here tonight!! It’s that quest for the contemporary scientific puzzler that does it for us, isn’t it? LOL!!
Bingeing tooo—naiii—iiight!!!
Still no release date but here is a bit more info on this new series. “The Acolyte,” the first “Star Wars” series set outside the Skywalker Saga, could be the change we need. The upcoming series is a mystery-thriller set 100 years before “Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace.” A Jedi and their former Jedi master investigate a series of crimes in the final days of the High Republic era, a peaceful time before the Dark Side starts to stir trouble.”
Just saw the trailer…FYI, first 2 episodes drop 04 JUN 2024…just in case.
That was some spooky shite!! So very well done!!
Thanks for the heads-up! Highly recommend this one for the heist fans out there. Wouldn’t mind a sequel!
This one is pretty good https://www.primewire.tf/tv/1456795-three-body or you can wait for the Netflix version that drops in 2 weeks https://www.primewire.tf/tv/1376385-3-body-problem
Lots of mind-bending, physics-defy stuff going on in it, plus metaversal gaming and 1st contact. I’m working on finishing up the links for the Chinese version.
Whoa! Trailer for ~6795 looks trippy and don’t mind checking out ~6385 when it comes out. Will definitely add both to library. Thanks for the heads-up, rex!
Edit: Just noticed I already have ~6385 in my “watching” list!
Wondering how many “Constellation” watchers know about this? Was I the last to know?!
Simply put two realities bleeding into one another and the astronauts are being gas lit. The daughter has been the only one to realize this and Noomi hasn’t caught on yet but hoping she will soon. Noomi loves these complex stories and characters and its why she is such an amazing actor. I m loving this!! Its all fun and games until you start messing around with quantum physics and are not open to the outcomes.
Well put, TooMuchFire! I agree on all points. I’m enjoying the feel of “not quite getting it.” And thus far, Noomi’s choices have been exact matches to my type of quirk.
The premise is. An object can be in two places/states at once, depending on the observer. Think of it as 2 multiverses overlapping. The mystery is still whether it’s due to going into outer space or caused by the experiment.
Thanks wildfrontier. I did mention Schrodinger’s cat early on. I think the combo of space and experiment is at the center. Just a bit miffed at all the melodrama and lack of development. Besides, a bit of self-deprecation never hurt anybody! ;-)
You know, every week I say to myself, “This is the week. This is the week the bulb will blaze brightly over my head. This is the week when I finally figure out WTF is going on.”
Sigh! This was not the week!
But, I’ll be back next week. Expecting clarification…lucidity…the brightly-glowing bulb.
Insanity, n’est-ce pas?
I really hope they don’t try to make her a part of the “team.” You”re right about The Ex Effect. I for one don’t need any backstories. Why do “they” feel the need to do that?!
At this rate their will be a 100% chance of no season 2. The episodes are being made out of place. Story is confusing and no one knows what’s going on really. Its laughable. The potential in this show is very good but is currently being run by what it seems to be, 8 year old’s.
It’s an inverted detective story. Most recently we’ve seen it with Poker Face, which I loved.
Loved this character on the Good Wife. Elsbeth is the modern female version of Columbo — but wayyy better!
I just finished stating the same (in other words, of course!) on the main page. The start of the episode immediately brought “Columbo” to mind!!!
My love of TV crime drama stems from the ‘70s. In fact, the only time I was allowed to stay up past my bedtime was for the “Mystery Movie” that alternated between “Columbo,” “McCloud,” “McMillan & Wife,” and “Banacek” (all my faves!)…and only because my Dad and I both loved the fledgling TV crime drama genre!
To me, the beginning of the pilot seemed reminiscent of “Columbo” in that the killer is seen committing the crime at the beginning of the episode and then we see how the investigator (here it’s an outsider-lawyer) connects the dots while getting under the skin of everyone around them. Nostalgia for that TV era means I’ll stay put for this!
Besides, I enjoy Carrie Preston in this type of role as I think she does quirky genius very well.
Nice start! Just finished the 1st episode and I feel right at home with L&O Toronto! Enough quirk and uber smarts to keep my attention. Nicely paced, too! Yeah, I’m watching alright!
I get how some can be excited at the Toronto aspect. Being a New Yorker, I’ve always had mega feels for the franchise. But D’Onofrio’s absence was a letdown for me. I will tune in to hear this version of the theme song. And since this is the first attempt at another L&O:CI, I’ll stick around to see if this can fill the hole in my heart! Ya never know!
IMO, they waited too long for this installment. Frankly, I don’t care now if Rick and Michonne find each other or not; I did when the bridge blew up. I was curious to see what organization had helicopters. But now, so what! Besides, I always thought it was arrogant to think Rick’s crew was the only one capable of moving forward. But, five minutes in I was sick of Rick’s musings! As usual, I blame the writers!
[moving this to my “Stuff To Watch When All Else Fails” list]
Oh I will watch it just for Cate but. movies that have been delayed for as long as this one have been done so for a reason and it is almost never a good one.
Could you copy Guardians of the Galaxy any more.
Since there aren’t going to be anymore entries in the GotG franchise…why not?
…definitely adding to my list!
I requested links ‘cause the release is listed here as 01 JAN 2022.
IMDB lists 09 AUG 2024 as the release date. If that gets corrected, I’m thinking less misguided requests. Obviously, disregard my request.
Holy moley! What the heck is going on?! Is it that they’ve split? Like Schrodinger’s cat?
It would be nice if they dropped the whole season at once, but I do like that they do the first 3 at least so you have a chance to get a good feel for the show and decide whether it’s worth watching all of it. So often 1st episodes are a bit overwhelming with introductions to all the players and setting up the story.
So true re overwhelming 1st episodes. I am liking the 3-episode-drop…wouldn’t mind it becoming the norm.
When it comes to playing scientific roles, Barbara Sukowa is the best! This type of film shouldn’t exist without her participation. Best remembered from the TV series “12 Monkeys.” Weird ‘cause with the accent, you’d expect her to be the evil scientist but, when I see her, I feel that everything is under control. Of course, this was only minutes into the 1st episode so, we shall see!
I disagree just because I watched it assuming it would have an ending worth watching and then being extremely disappointed by it would make it a loser because if they make a season 5 I’ll think to myself season 4 was so bad is it even worth giving this one a shot.
Wow.this season was really bad.i kept hoping for it to get better and it disappointed on every front the season finale was very very bad. I can’t remember the other seasons very well but supernatural stuff wasn’t real was it?just evil people doing evil things.
But you hung in there, didn’t you?! That makes it a winner if you stuck around till the end.
this episode better be .. mind blowing or tell us what is going on …or this might be worst nonsensical true dec .. i had to endure smh
Well, all ends but one tied up nicely so, I guess the latter.
Worked for me but, still wondering if the tongue story is a “let’s see if they like it” veiled attempt at a feeler for what kind of audience would clock in for a 2nd season. I certainly would!
Just watched the trailer. Yes, this is a nitpick, but still.
Shouldn’t the umbrellas have the reflective material on the outside?
