Euphoria (2019) S2 E8

Finally, as someone who has overcome addiction, it is extremely rare to see a film or television show that authentically portrays the agony of addiction. This series was so brilliantly written, filmed, and produced that I have to wonder whether the writers, directors, and producers didn’t struggle with addiction themselves. I’m blown away by the unforgettable performances given by such relatively young artists! The lead actress portrayed an undoubtedly convincing addict; she was emotionally perceptive and had perfect timing. This series is a genuine portrayal of what it’s like for those who seek refuge in a substance rather than a weapon when they’re in so much agony that they’d do anything to get escape from it. Addiction is not a moral dilemma, and this point needs to be emphasized more often.

I’m excited to seeing more of this series; so far, the pacing is terrific, and there’s just enough mystery and dread to keep me intrigued. While the gore and visual effects are a bit unsettling, they are also quite convincing and impressive. Oh, and it’s uncensored, which I prefer since people do swear, get naked, have sex, smoke, drink, and make bad choices in real life. Ok lol, maybe not all of those things, or even all of them in that order, but they do, especially in a nightmarish situation like this one! Lol, no, I just simply appreciate the realistic element it lends to a production, the more relatable the better.

For a budget of just over $525k, this one is pretty good.

Yet you only gave it 1 point?? Were you being sarcastic?

Euphoria (2019) S2 E6
ShadowWolf 2 points 2 years ago.

Wow very powerful! One of the best depiction’s of addiction I’ve ever seen and the acting is top notch- right on the money! Almost too hard to watch at times…a great series to use as a teaching tool for my kids…the lessons are endless!

Wolf Like Me (2022) S1 E6
ShadowWolf -1 points 2 years ago.

Too bad this ended… i forgot networks don’t like to keep good series going…they like to keep the cookie cutter type shows. I felt this at least had an interesting dynamic to it. i for sure thought his daughter was going to have the same affliction as the girlfriend…that would have made sense and it would have been passed down or something like that…well, in any case, it was a cute show.

Dexter: New Blood (2021)
ShadowWolf -1 points 2 years ago*. (Contains Spoilers)

Oh man I’m super sad… so now it’s the kids or is that it? Wow who would have ever guessed that’s what or who would take him out….very fitting and yes…”The only way” wow, I could hand watched Hall be Dexter in a million more stories that were different but the same… over and over and over again…I didn’t care if it was repetitious, he was so good! I’m curious to know… did Harrison always have that letter or was that Dexter’s backup plan just in case or did he plan his death… or did Harrison plan that all along? Planted the screw but because he came there to be like him, knowing about him all already and what he was…he saw him kill Matt, they showed him in the bushes, he knew he killed him the whole time and he planned on killing him the whole time because he thought it would set him free…except it made him a killer of a serial killer just like Dexter… he even shot him in the heart like Dexter… he already knew how to shoot a gun too….hmmmm so many things don’t add or was everything super obvious and I missed it lmao…I can’t believe he’s gone… I’m in shock and super sad…I wonder how many people will consume to watch without Hall 😲🤤😢😭😒

Hands down one of thee best series I’ve ever seen, season 3 gets extremely crazy and hard to follow but when it’s all said and done, it doesn’t matter and there are no loose ends (which I hate) It’s In Top 5 favorites of all time so far!

I grew up watching the Die Hard and Lethal Weapon movies. Danny G, I’m never getting too old for this ish! LOL, because Bruce is still one of my top faves and so is Mel, I wish we could get some more MMAX though that would be epic! These are the movies that could still be made and still be good!

Bruce just having fun but he’s just too good for these low budget movies! it painful! I mean Wtf, he will always be a fave of mine but I guess you get to a point where you just have fun with it like Cage has, their status is for life, no need to win anyone over when they did a long time ago. Cage came back with “Pig”? (Correct?) and reminded us why we loved him to begin with, Willis can do that at any point too. Its still cringe af though, c’mon Patrick Muldoon…really😬😖😦

Last Shoot Out (2021)
ShadowWolf 2 points 2 years ago.

what happened to Lionsgate? They do mostly B rated movies now, with all unknown actors and a really low budget…wonder what happened? Blumhouse is next, their movies are starting to go downhill as well, not that they were ever excellent or anything, not like how Lionsgate use to be in the 90’s and early 2000’s…weird.

Same! I was unprepared and some of it was really difficult to watch. That’s also one of the problems with great acting…they make you feel it…they are so effortless in their craft, to the point you have to remind yourself, they are playing a character in a movie. That way you won’t end up resenting them later or try to punish them for the horrible acts they commit on screen!

Gritty, fast paced, A list cast and plenty of drama! It’s a different perspective on the crime drama genre, with a “Training Day”, “City On a Hill” and “Mare of Eastown” feel to it, all gritty and dark with compelling “take no bullshit” main characters. Hopefully it can keep up its shocking, yet intriguing piolet episode! So far so good! I’m Excited to see where this goes. Happy watching!

Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin (2021)
ShadowWolf 1 points 2 years ago*. (Contains Spoilers)

I liked it. its better than the other horror films out right now and if you like the Paranormal activity franchise, then you’ll appreciate this movie. It’s the same style just different story. I loved what they did with the slow mo! Very cool! I wish they did more, it was a great added effect. Also, It’s not suppose to be big budget, that’s always been the point… but it is high quality for supposedly filming it themselves. It also answers some questions about the other films in a way. idk you have to like the franchise to appreciate it I guess? Its worth the watch.

Nine Perfect Strangers (2021) S1 E8
ShadowWolf 4 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

loved this series start to finish. Great ending. I like how they spotlighted psilocybin as a treatment and what can happen when the ego falls away and we can let go, realizing fear and anger no longer serve us, that what we are holing onto doesn’t really matter, that we should live each moment grateful. Grateful to be alive and that we can decide who we are and what we want without our past or limiting believes defining us and holding hostage ….. I can go on and on but I feel its an effective tool- medicine for bringing about a profound awareness within ourselves, showing us the truth about ourselves and what really matters. For a lot of people its such a powerful experience, it creates permanent change in their beliefs seeing things for what they actually are. The true magic of positive change thru seeing the truth is when we change the people around us start to change and it just keeps paying its self forward. the end!

Evil (2019) S2 E9
ShadowWolf -1 points 2 years ago*. (Contains Spoilers)

I don’t like it, they are dancing around the stories that we actually give a crap about and doing some sort of Tales From The Crypt themed show instead! They haven’t given us enough on the main characters, I understand teasing, but it’s mostly stories that have nothing to do with them. I wanted to see Kristen’s evil develop more, it’s the whole point anyone is watching this season. We became invested in knowing if she was possessed or something, sure she’s different but I feel there needs to be more there. What’s the moms story and also this doll she talks to, is she a witch? Is kristen’s dad a demon? What’s up with Kristen’s daughter is she evil, the antichrist or a demon? These are just some of the stories they started, then danced around them, instead of developing. Isn’t the season finale this next episode? What happened with the curly haired guy and the demon he kept seeing? David stopped seeing his visions… where is the cool nun? WTF is up with the Goat and is that real or in his psycho head? IDK there are so many loose ends, stories left underdeveloped and hardly any explanation to anything. I feel they had too many things going on at once, the main storyline was spread way too thin so they had to stall in hopes of having another season so they can clean it up and finish the story.

ShadowWolf 1 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I’m disappointed! They should have stuck to how they told the story in season 1. I was wishing, along with mostly everyone else, Kristen would be more evil and David would eventually have to perform an exorcism on her, only after he finally notices she does something really out of character, eventually seeing the burns. Maybe she tries to seduce him or something and he starts to test her with questions that would aggravate the demon inside her until she snaps and she starts talking in a demons voice…I mean right!? idk isn’t that what we all are wanting to see? something along those lines? I can’t be alone on this lol! Happy Watching, we shall see…

ShadowWolf 2 points 2 years ago.

that was pretty good just some annoying writing at times, I was thinking, who says that or why didn’t he say or do xyz instead or just use common sense lol. I, for once, didn’t like Jakes character at all! Seriously, he reminded me of my impulsive ex who has explosive anger issues, who never thought about what he said or did beforehand and never apologized either. Yeah he was a real gem lol. So anyway, I still liked the movie just really turned off by his character. It’s worth a watch and there is a moral to the story as well… Happy Watching!! Thanks again

Kate (2021)
ShadowWolf 3 points 2 years ago*.

I loved it! Mary is the new Sigourney Weaver, she is a total bada$$, she reminds me of her role in the Alien franchise, Mary would have made an awesome Ripley in the remake! I also love how she doesn’t care about getting bloody or beat up either, makes her character more authentic. Mary is a natural with movies like…Death Proof, Birds of Prey, 10 Cloverfield lane, some of the later Die Hard movies, The Thing, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Final Destination 3 and many more under her belt. I don’t understand why this is getting such bad reviews!? I thought it was fun with great stunts, unique kills and she kicked serious A$$! I swear it gets harder and harder to please anyone these days… what do the critics know anyways!? Sure if Mary wasn’t the star and Woody the guess star, it may have not been the best but they were in it and if it was good enough for them to be in, I feel its good enough to be liked! Happy Watching! Thanks PW

Malignant (2021)
ShadowWolf 4 points 2 years ago*.

Finally a unique twist and one with imagination! Imagination is something horror movies have been lacking for a very long time! The special effects were very cool! I really liked the story, for once I was stumped, i can usually guess from a mile away! My only complaint was, as the story came to it’s peak, I was really into it and wanted so badly to stay focused on the shock and horror of it all but unfortunately, for one scene in particular, I kept getting distracted by the special effects and had to continuously redirect my attention back to what was unfolding, heavily relying on my imagination to see me trough what my brain couldn’t get on board with. I just did my best to roll with it because it was too good a part to have ruined, simply by, choosing poorly on placement and execution of some special effects! Special effect can either add to, distract from or completely ruin a movie! In this case, for me, it was only that one part that was very distracting, otherwise this was a great little gem. I also feel that if you have any appreciation for horror stories and/or movies than you’ll respect the unique story telling and that it’s visually stimulating as well! Happy watching! Thanks PW :)
{PS. The recording itself is not very good, part of the screen is cut off, you can see enough to follow the story but if your not a diehard, you might want to wait for PW to release a better recording or DVD version}

Yes and omg Colin is huge! He is not a very big guy. I keep thinking of his role in Fright Night lol but without the cheesy humor, his character is very menacing and I feel he plays that sneaky - you don’t know what I’m up to- role very well… Its that sideways look, out of the corner of his eye or that stare, all while smirking like he knows something you don’t …idk either way he’s great at playing the sus character. This is a great movie quality series that’s shot like an epic adventure. The cinematography, although desolate, is beautiful and the atmosphere dark, dreary and dangerous. These key elements set the stage from the start, with an incredible sense of dread, a tone that soon progresses to a claustrophobic feeling of no way out! This is done very well and O’Connell really makes you feel it! The chemistry between O’Connell and Colin, it’s magnetic, in a way that it really makes you feel very uncomfortable.(like its suppose to) They play off each other very well! Happy Watching!
