I found this after watching the movie of the same name. The movie has some great actors, and was very reminiscent of Flight of the Concords. However, this also had some great actors, and they definitely did it well and made it their own. I’m glad they preserved the comedic style without trying to exactly recreate all the same jokes (unlike the American remake of the inbetweeners which was garbage)

Oh, I agree and plz don’t take my comment wrong. I just feel now (and last season) being permitted to “bring” weapons along (bow) takes away from showing their true survival skills. And tho I’ll give them some hooks and line I’m kind of even against bringing a gill-net. With these things it is more just opportunity than skill, imho. I really appreciated the ingenuity of some in the first few seasons.

So you’re saying you think they should be relying only on stuff they find and create on location rather than fancy equipment that they bring? I see your point, but I also think using the tools they have as effectively as they can is interesting to see. Most of the contestants in season 1/2 relied on fishing with hooks or gill nets anyways. I think hunting takes more skill than fishing. I would rather see people out looking for ways to hunt than sitting around in their hut waiting to starve.

The less interesting trend imo is seeing people bulking up before the contest just so they can starve themselves longer. Sam from last season won without catching a single fish or hunting anything (besides mice).

Alone (2015)

For anyone who hasn’t watched this, it is the only survival reality show I can stand. There’s no annoying narration, and contestants truly are alone, so you know nothing is fake or scripted. The contestants are all skilled, and interesting to watch.

The editing does try to build drama, but its not enough to put me off the show. Everything is filmed by the contestants themselves, so you get a good sense of their point of view.

I’ve liked many of the parts Brie has played in the past (21 Jump Street, Scott Pilgrim, Hoot, her brief part in Community), and I don’t think she disappointed in this movie. It’s too bad the general public has taken a dislike to her because of her outspoken position on issues.

Pretty interesting episode. I like that we see division among the “good guys.”

I have to say, though, Tyrions character has gone downhill for the last few seasons, and its not getting any better. He used to always be smart and fun to watch. Now, all he can do is make catastrophically bad tactical decisions and beg Cersei to not be evil, which of course she wont listen to.

I’m a big fan of Bojack Horseman, so I had high hopes for this, but it was a bit too silly for me, and too much singing. The story seems pretty simplistic compared to the complex characters of Bojack. Also, at times I felt like I was watching Dora the explorer.

Why the hell was sam on the battlefield? Seems like several people saved him only to die right away. And then somehow he doesn’t die when hes literally buried in whites.

This episode was epic to watch, but a bit lacking in the story department. A lot more characters would have died if GRRM were writing it.

lol, maybe their animators went on strike, so they just use an old episode with a new voice over. I thought it wasn’t bad.
