The Great (2020) S1 E6
Skullion 2 points 5 months ago*.

Love the outro tracks……… Brilliant melding of costume drama and music that shouldn’t work but does!

And, cos they is all late 70s an 80s tunes… Bring back memories 4 me , plus I can sing along 🤣😂

Similar to Dickinson
https://www.primewire.tf/tv/375535-dickinson
but that is even more brilliant because the whole soundtrack of each episode blends historical imagery with modern music and does it extremely well.

When the Lights Went Out (2012)
Skullion 3 points 8 months ago.

I had no high expectations of this when I decided to watch it as I was pretty sure I had seen more than one film and/or tv series about these events. But, this was actually pretty good. I liked the fact it had a bit of dry Northern (England) humour and it felt more real because of this. There we a couple of things that made me almost jump but all in all I enjoyed the film because it was based on real life events.

We're All Going to the World's Fair (2022)
Skullion 2 points 1 year ago. (Contains Spoilers)

This film definitely didn’t make me jump.
I actually found it sad…maybe because I felt I could relate to the girl. I have always felt I somehow I don’t fit in and I have struggled with an internal yoyo going from determined that I am not crazy , my brain just stores 10x more information and ideas than most people,to being beyond despair teetering on the edge of the Abyss.
Worth a watch

P.s just realised that you can see my crime playlist just above comment box ⬆️⬆️⬆️
With the excellent drama about very British couple and the police investigation into a possible murder many, many years after the fact.
Stars 1 of my favourite British Northern actors David Thewlis and a more recent favourite, after seeing her as The Queen in The Crown Olivia Coleman

I watched this, probably not long after links were added! I watch a lot of real crime programmes as, I am sure, you may well have guessed.
But, I have a distinct preference for those that take the subject matter seriously. A good percentage of British ones do this as do most from Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
But only some from the States ,the best of which I have found are in my Playlist Good Honest True Crime

White House Farm is listed methinks.
Thank you though for the info and please do share any you think fit the bill. 😀

Moors Murders (2022)
Skullion 1 points 2 years ago*.

Another 2022 British Real Crime show that has surprised me by having new details and information about notorious serial killer cases.

The other being the ITV show
Yorkshire Ripper: The Secret Murders

I wrote the thesis for my degree on serial killers so read an awful lot of books and watched a lot of tv shows for background information on American and British serial killers upto 1994, so was surprised to find myself engrossed.

Hope next 2 episodes are up soon.I haven’t a clue how to go about adding links otherwise I would upload but I know that all 3 episodes are available on All4.^1

Thank you so much to those who added links for episode 2 and 3

hared to believe its that old ! wow great movie i may do a watch party on it

Skullion 1 points 2 years ago*.

I must thank you for reminding me about this film..
At the time some of the effects were very spooky.. I think of it as the Judderman effect, which I think was a TV advert for a drink around the same time that used the same type of effect.

This and
thir13en ghosts

are definitely worthy of my Made me Jump! - My Top Horror

The Blackwell Ghost 4 (2020)

Wow… Just wow.
This episode floored me.
Incredibly scary, amazing footage and made all the more real by the honesty of Turner Clay and how the whole thing effects his life.

Home Before Dark (2020) S1 E8

I found this to be a really great TV series, I hope they continue with it and don’t stop it after only 1 season… has some mystery with plenty of excitement… Try it you might like it and if you don’t that is ok. You can try something else. RoboPhone seems to suggest some really good one… Thank Robo this was good, really good.

The Murder Tapes (2019) S5 E4
Skullion 2 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I have watched 100s of real crime programmes over many years and many have gruesome details of crimes committed against a person.
But I almost could not watch the Police Body Cam and CSI Footage in this episode. Absolutely horrific. I cannot imagine how the family will ever find “closure” after viewing it all and knowing what their loved one had to endure.

Old enough to see Lux Interior climb a stack of amps 20 feet high and wrench the sweat out of his sock into his mouth.

Skullion 2 points 2 years ago*.

haha 🙃
I am also lucky enough to have seen Mr Interior climb a huge stack of amps
But rather than drinking sock sweat..
He decided to drop’em and wiggle it around a little bit
before
Sliding back down to the stage vis a metal chain..
But
He was still butt naked and on reaching the floor was making loud gutteral cries of pain
Somebody thought it perfect for the next song and just held the mic by his mouth.
And the band played on!

The song?

It’s always nice to be recognised, sounds like you are having an interesting life, nice one.

haha 🙃
I wonder how many Punk nerds, music journalist fanzine writers trolls excetera excetera were up in Arms in regard to the Iggy Pop bit 🤔😂

I had loads more that I was going to say about the bands I met in later years and their connections to so much music history
but was using an on-screen keyboard with mouse which drives me insane! 🤯🤯 that and also I realised that I had written an essay already so I thought “shut up, shut up Skullion”

Skullion 2 points 3 years ago.

🤔The band biog details?
Or the 🗣️ Talking Heads 🗣️ clip?
Or the tiny Rickman clip 📎 ?
Or was there more 🤯

Was a wee bit young myself but I was a 70’s baby
Plus not an American..England here
The gIG venues I ran were 94’-2001
But more than one band mentioned in this played for me which gave me a little self confidence boost

I started going 2 gigs when I was 14 .. & at that time here the place to be was Manchester - which is where I am from 🙃

In the 80s I saw
The Cramps
The Damned
The Cult (7 times)
Iggy Pop
& Many more
At midsized venues

saw a lot of the later hardcore punk bands at toilet venues squat gigs and Punx Picnics

CBGB (2013)
Skullion 6 points 3 years ago.

BRILLIANT FANTASTIC SUPERDUPER
Loved every minute.

Great Music
Alan Rickman was perfect casting
Learned the proper history of a club/bar/venue that I knew a bit of .
I loved it all the more because it was a toilet venue that became World famous.
I ran a place so similar it brought back so many memories, we had gigs upyo 6 nights a week - upto 15 bands a week..
As the promoter/manager you work the most hrs days and nights and are often missed out of the “thanks to sound guy, the lighting guy, the gig goers” list, so This was so good to see.

I am thanked by some bands on CD credits which I only discovered years later and it brought tears to my eyes
