What role does the guy with the horse that was also a doctor have in this besides being Madison’s doctor? What’s up with the horse?
Those scenes threw everything out of whack.
Obviously, I have to wait until next season to find out.
If Jack is blind why does he always appear to be looking people in the eyes?
He’s not completely blind. A couple eps back they realized he was looking at some string lights.

Does anyone know it there is anyway to get english subtitles for this series, I got into it but at the end with the lets say final confrontation it would have been good to know what the giant was saying, I guess in season 2 they might explain why those people were referred to as giants as they were not giants, well to what I understand giants to be, thanks.
I haven’t seen this show so I could be off base as to what giants are in the show itself but the word Giant is the anglicized version of the Norse word Jotunn.
Jotunns were sort of nature spirits known for their great strength. They are a different being from the Norse gods (Aesir and Vanir) but they all interact together and sometimes intermarry. In some of the sagas Loki is a Jotunn.
I think that the word giant has come to mean a very large person/being because there are large rock formations that are said to be certain Jotunns turned to stone and if that rock is Joe the Jotunn then he must have been huge!
Plus a general idea in folklore that the people of legendary times were literally larger than life.
Motherland: Fort Salem (2020) S1 E1
I went into this show with expectations that it would be a lightish-dark, teenage, wiccan-friendly fare. I was pleasantly surprised at the production value, and the sinister overtones and underpinings. It’s not perfect, but it is original in presentation and story-line. I have no idea how this would measure up to any wiccan-related subject matter or facts, but I was entertained AND (bonus) I felt the episode was handled with frequently dark insinuations in nearly every scene. I will be watching the next episode, to see where they go with this, hopeful that it will not digress into teenage angst and dramady. (The rating system does not allow for 1/2 stars. This is a 3.5/5 for me.)
I have’nt seen anything Wiccan in this. As we say in the community “All Wiccans are witches but not all witches are Wiccan”.
What she did at the beginning, healing the woman’s rash or whatever it was, is very similar to PA Dutch, southern and mountain healers who can whisper the fire out of a burn or heal a wound by reciting Biblical passages or charms using Biblical references.
The show’s concept is interesting. I’ll keep watching.

This is such sweet show. I wish British seasons weren’t so short and sometimes so far in between. I hope we get another.

I like this show, I hope it gets another season. It can be a little uneven but I think it could find its legs given a chance. I laughed out loud at Grandma & Chill, it was the best thing I’d seen in a long time.

Wow. This was not anything like I was expecting and I’m not even sure what I was expecting. I’m not a sportsball fan at all. But this was the most charming, uplifting, touching thing I’ve seen in a long time.
It’s only tangentially related to sports or specifically soccer/football. Yes, there are plenty of sports scenes and it takes place mostly on the field or in the locker room but those scenes are framed in a way that even I, a non-sportsballer, can understand. At it’s heart it’s about how people should treat each other by uplifting, not tearing down.
I’m so glad this has been renewed, I can’t wait for season 2.
