A Quiet Place Part II (2021)
ckgranger 3 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

i like the suspense of the first one better but this was still entertaining. it gives a tiny bit more information about these creatures and how the world came to be this way

Manifest (2018) S3 E12
ckgranger 3 points 2 years ago.

overall disappointing. a lot happened in the last 10 min that we’ll never get answers to. this show would have been so much better without the religious rhetoric and if they had tied up the countless plot holes

Manifest (2018)
ckgranger -1 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

its a very compelling story that they have crappy writing for. I am through 2 seasons right now and there are so many plot points or characters that they forgot about, never mentioned again. The plot can move forward without those narratives being closed but it just makes future plot points less believable. It also got a bit “religious” or “fantastic” or “preachy” for me. instead of being a drama with a hint of sci-fi I feel like i’m being beat over the head with “callings”, or messages from god or some other universal purpose. that’s fine, but why does it have to be turned into something preachy? The relationships can also be annoying at several points, but for the most part they’re fine. it’s a show that’s entertaining enough but leaves a lot to be desired. you won’t be missing much by not watching it. i don’t know how it ends yet so i can’t say that it was a waste of time either.

Romeo + Juliet (1996)
ckgranger -1 points 3 years ago.

i cant’ believe people like this version or worse yet consider this THE romeo and juliet they’re familiar with. leo and claire are great but literally everything else is horrible. i don’t get the obsession. has to be nostalgia. please do yourself a favor and read the play, see the play, watch zeffirelli, something.

The Alienist (2018) S2 E4
ckgranger 2 points 3 years ago.

i really hope it’s more than 8 episodes. this show is too good to only have 8!

When Calls the Heart (2013) S7 E10
ckgranger 2 points 4 years ago.

so they did the opposite of what they did in the season 6 finale

The House with a Clock in Its Walls (2018)
ckgranger 1 points 4 years ago.

was not worth my time. definitely a kids movie.

When Calls the Heart (2013) S7 E6

ughhh this show kills me

Summer Magic (1963)

Ready or Not (2019)

i enjoyed this! it’s kind of like if clue, and then there were none, and happy death day had a movie baby.i’d watch again

Us (2019)

Wow. I’m really shocked by the negative comments on this movie.
Perhaps people went into this expecting something, and were disappointed when it wasn’t what they thought/wanted. Or maybe people are confused, thinking this is a horror movie.
It’s not a horror movie. It’s a fairy tale. The best kind, the bloody kind. And I actually enjoyed it FAR more than Get Out.
I made an account on this site just to make this comment lol
Anyhoo, give it a shot.

ckgranger 0 points 4 years ago.

i definitely wouldn’t call this a fair tale in genre terms. it’s a suspense/thriller/scifi in my opinion

Us (2019)
ckgranger -3 points 4 years ago.

look. i didn’t love this for a few reasons. it makes no sense, and i don’t mean that like i don’t understand it. I do understand it and it makes no sense. what what you discover in the last 30ish minutes, the motivations of the characters are unexplained and irrational. i can’t explain further than that without spoiling. the first half works nicely and is scary as strangers vs the main characters. it’s similar to other horror films with intruders who want something you don’t know about. the back half reaches too far. if you pay attention, you know throughout the film that several key components play a part in what is going to happen, you just don’t how how or why. this movie would have been better if it had 1 or 2 of those components. that would have made for a surprising and cohesive ending. however, the writers tried to do way too many things that it becomes predictable while also not being explained how and why all these components were important enough to include. i would not watch this again because the story telling is weak and aggravating. the acting particularly by the main character was amazing.

Safe Haven (2013)
ckgranger 1 points 4 years ago.

one of my fav nicholas spark stories, and definitely my favorite ending

Parasite (2019)
ckgranger 4 points 4 years ago.

definitely unique. i kept wondering what was going to happen, so it kept me on my toes

Cats (2019)
ckgranger 0 points 4 years ago.

strange. i’ve never seen the entire play (i’ve seen bits and pieces) but i knew it was strange to begin with. i do think jennifer stole the show, no surprise there. didn’t love the modern choreography they gave to derulo and his backup dancers. mostly i was irritated by the proportions. they were not only incorrect, but also inconsistent. the sets were too large and the “cats” would be more like large bird size at that ratio. i definitely won’t watch this again. i wanted to see it to understand what the musical was about since it’s one of the few i haven’t seen. i think most of it is pointless honestly. there are some metaphors, some important characters and lessons. but mostly this play is ridiculous nonsense. if you’re going to write a show at least give it substance.

The Taking of Pelham 123 (2009)
ckgranger 0 points 4 years ago.

good but i was so stressed the whole time!

The Aeronauts (2019)
ckgranger 2 points 4 years ago.

i thought this was very interesting. makes me want to fly in a hot air balloon

Little Women (2019)
ckgranger 3 points 4 years ago.

saw in theaters, thought it was great and very different from the 90’s version. i think i still love the 90’s more. but there are some aspects, especially in character development/relationship development, that i like better in this version

Jumanji: The Next Level (2019)
ckgranger 4 points 4 years ago.

i think these movies are SO funny. loved the end on this one

The Handmaid's Tale (2017) S3 E13
ckgranger 3 points 4 years ago.

good episode!

Outlander (2014) S4 E2
ckgranger 2 points 4 years ago.

this was very difficult to watch. but a reminder of the past and why we should try very hard not to repeat it. unfortunately humans fail at it every day.

Erkenci Kuş (2018)
ckgranger 1 points 4 years ago.

i LOVE this show. you have to be dedicated…each episode is over 2 hours and if you don’t speak turkish you’ve got to read subtitles but i think its totally worth it. the characters are so great

The Handmaid's Tale (2017) S3 E7
ckgranger 1 points 4 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

shoulda decked her. i’d have pushed her in front of that bus a long time ago.

Room for Murder (2018)
ckgranger 0 points 4 years ago.

main characters are really annoying.

Tangent Room (2019)
ckgranger 2 points 4 years ago.

i thought this was pretty fascinating, but i enjoy math. i didn’t love how it ended but i think if you enjoy math/science and suspense you’d like it

Escape Room (2019)
ckgranger 1 points 4 years ago.

pretty brilliant. if any real escape room was as complex as that(aside from the danger part)i’d be so impressed. reminds me in some ways of saw or inception, the way the writers would have to think to come up with that. i would definitely watch this again

Would You Rather (2019)
ckgranger 2 points 4 years ago.

this was rough. kind of ramsay bolton rough.

Aladdin (2019)
ckgranger 1 points 4 years ago*.

The current streamplay version will have blurred subs in very few parts and 1 part near the beginning with a language change. other than that, it’s good. For the movie itself, i expected it to be not great and i was actually impressed! There are many similarities to the animation, but also many differences. Will smith was great and i LOVE what they did with the genie. I did not like jafar, he is actually much more fleshed out in the animation. Lots of surprising costuming, some changes to iconic things, but it didn’t bother me. There were a few kinda iconic things omitted that did bother me but i won’t spoil that for you. by comparison, beauty and the beast was VERY cut and paste and i loved it for that. aladin has much more variation, but i think it worked well. overall, i was impressed. i think it’s definitely worth watching if you loved the animation.

Field of Dreams (1989)
ckgranger 2 points 4 years ago.

one of my favorite movies ever. great story!

The Handmaid's Tale (2017) S3 E5
ckgranger 1 points 4 years ago.

well that backfired

Some Kind of Wonderful (1987)
ckgranger 1 points 4 years ago.

cute. mostly i liked it because of mary stuart masterson :)

The Aftermath (2019)
ckgranger 2 points 4 years ago.

FINALLY! thanks uploaders :)

The Handmaid's Tale (2017) S3 E3

loved this episode. this season is definitely making less obvious and harder to interpret statements/plot movements.

The Case Against Adnan Syed (2019)
RaptorsNineFive 0 points 4 years ago*.

Serial is horrendous. Save your time. I’d rather pound nails into my privates, or watch paint dry.

ckgranger 2 points 4 years ago.

i agree, undisclosed is better, but you can’t just jump into that either without knowing info. my point is they don’t start at the beginning in this series or in most other podcasts. the only way to get the beginning is to listen to serial and/or read the news articles (where you’ll still not get all the info)

Barefoot (2014)
ckgranger 2 points 4 years ago.

one of my favorite movies. evan rachel wood never never dissappoints

Game of Thrones (2011) S8 E6
ckgranger 0 points 4 years ago.

i actually liked this and am very surprised that i did because i had prepared myself to hate it. it’s quite literary. that’s all i’ll say!

Game of Thrones (2011) S8 E5
ckgranger 2 points 5 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

the whole episode is just her burning shit and people running. where was the creativity? where was the horrendous death that cersi deserves? oh lets not get vengeance for all the awful she’s done, lets just let rocks fall on her…SO DUMMMBBB. aside from that it was really just them making us think aria was dead like 10 times. meh episode in my opinion.

Game of Thrones (2011) S8 E4
ckgranger 0 points 5 years ago*. (Contains Spoilers)

well that was a fucking nightmare. they sure know how to make you hate this show’s writers. every single ounce of happiness this episode offered was immediately ripped away afterwards. everything. i don’t know how these people are supposed to beat that psychotic bitch. she better die the most excruciating death ever given to any real or fictional being.

Game of Thrones (2011) S8 E3
YgraineDance 1 points 5 years ago.

That about sums it up for me, too. Saw VERY little in too many scenes (and I know they designed it that way!) Maybe I’ll try viewing it again in a more darkened room… :-/

ckgranger 1 points 5 years ago.

yeah i was in pitch black and the only things i had trouble seeing were the scenes in the first 30 min with the clashing

Game of Thrones (2011) S8 E3
ckgranger 3 points 5 years ago.

good lord this emotional roller coaster!

Five Feet Apart (2019)
ckgranger 1 points 5 years ago.

well i have a new appreciation for a disease i didn’t know about. this movie is endearing and about young love, adventure, hope, fear. i know there are several others in the genre and i haven’t seen them, except for my sister’s keeper,so i can’t compare. but i think this is worth the watch. and i love haley lu richardson so i watch all of her stuff.

After (2019)
ckgranger 3 points 5 years ago.

Look. this isn’t good. I’m such a sucker for any romance movie so for me to say that is actually saying something.it is not what the trailer and synopsis make it out to be. the characters are not interesting, they have little development. it’s like someone tried to do a really awful modernization of pride and prejudice’s characters. i’m sure people out there have dangerous first-love stories like this one. But this is over-dramatized when there’s no reason for it. i don’t think it’s worth your time. that’s just my honest opinion.

The Case Against Adnan Syed (2019) S1 E2
ckgranger 1 points 5 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

wow. so interesting to hear from jen and “not her name cathy”. and a pool hall?! that’s new to me. how many stories did this man tell?!

The Case Against Adnan Syed (2019)
ckgranger 2 points 5 years ago*.

you really wont get the same impact of this unless you have listened to at least serial, let alone the other related podcasts. this is not like making a murderer – it’s not dramatically setting up a story and evidence for you. it’s really more like supplemental information to what you should already know when you begin watching it.i thought it was very interesting. i know lots of very cut and dry info about this case, so much so that sometimes you forget it’s real people. i loved that this focused on bringing hae to life in some way, shape, or form, so that her narrative is told as well. there were 2 or 3 things in this episode that i did not know, that were new info. so if you know the case, i recommend watching. if you have no idea who these people are…do yourself a favor and listen to serial (podcast online) first because you won’t mix up the people and quick references to evidence that way. and if you are REALLY into detail and legal stuff, listen to undisclosed for better info

Little Italy (2018)
ckgranger 1 points 5 years ago.

i loved this! i dunno why people thought it was bad. if you like rom-coms this is for you

Game of Thrones (2011)
ckgranger 1 points 5 years ago.

if you’re debating watching this, watch it. everyone who i’ve seen talked into watching it loves it. actually i’ve never seen anyone who dislikes it. its just got great characters and writing. but once you start, do not use the internet…basically. don’t google it or get on social media. there will be spoilers everywhere that will ruin important things later on.

Spotlight (2015)

pretty powerful. especially when it’s still huge in the news in 2019

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016)
ckgranger 2 points 5 years ago.

it was nice seeing this tie up to a new hope. and i like that their graphics look like a blend of 1-3 and 4-6, more realistic and continual that way

The 15:17 to Paris (2018)
ckgranger 2 points 5 years ago.

this is definitely not an action or suspense movie, it’s barely a ‘movie’ at all. It’s more like a memory really, like you had been with them adjacently the whole time. Which makes it unique because instead of having actors play these people, he chose to use the real people involved. Getting background into who they are doesn’t seem very important until you see the minor coincidences play out. I think that’s how life is too, so it’s interesting to see a 1 in a million movie where the story unfolds like that of true life. There’s no dramatic music or eloquent script. it’s very forthright. I won’t deny that i was pretty bored through a lot of it but by the end I appreciated the direction eastwood took and the courage it must have taken to only live through this once but to live through it again for film’s sake.
