Booooo! The team that won is the worst. Wish the stewardesses won as they actually needed the money and weren’t super annoying

South Park (1997) S25 E1
crane 1 points 2 years ago.

Hilarious episode. I’m glad that we got our best satirists back in action. They’re more necessary now than ever

NOVA (1974) S49 E3

Don’t we think that the climate may have been dramatically different 65 MILLION years ago? Not to mention straight-up located in a different part of the planet back then as well? They don’t even go into those possibilities. Just seemingly like they assume everything was exactly the same as it is today. Weird.

crane 2 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

They do know what the climate and geography were like during the cretaceous. Alaska was just a little bit further north than it is today

BattleBots (2015) S6 E4
Filmguy 0 points 2 years ago.

Some good fights, better than usual and very horrible Faruq Tauheed as always…

crane 0 points 2 years ago.

Haha but it’s all because those nerds write the most horrible intros!
I think he’s doing admirably, all things considered

NOVA (1974)
JoeAgora 1 points 2 years ago.

NOVA used to be a science show for adults. Now, it is produced and presented like it was created by a substitute teacher talking to grade 3 students. I remember now why I stopped watching it. Bill Nye might as well be producing it. How the mighty have fallen.

crane 1 points 2 years ago.

It’s an introductory into all the topics. You aren’t going to go in depth about any of this stuff in 40 minutes. Is it possible that you just became older and wiser?
NOVA is great because it stimulates curiosity and lets you know a little bit about a lot of new science

The Righteous Gemstones (2019) S2 E4

This whole second season is awesome! Even better than the first

Don't Look Up (2021)
gattinanero 7 points 2 years ago*.

Candide by Voltaire, some Orwell, a dash of Verne plus a bit Asimov and far too many works to list. Humor, drama, human apathy, greed, social conditioning and just plain ole human nature. Plus bonus!! A tiny bit of naughty romance novels with the affair. It is just fantastic . “We must cultivate our garden “- Candide

crane 0 points 2 years ago.

Wow. VERY insulting to those authors. Like comparing Double Bubble to a Michellin star chef

Don't Look Up (2021)
aus1r1s 1 points 2 years ago.

This is a documentary of the U.S. during the pandemic.

crane 0 points 2 years ago.

It’s about climate change actually

Don't Look Up (2021)
crane -3 points 2 years ago.

I can’t believe this movie was by Adam McKay. He is usually funny.
Heavy-handed preaching about climate change verrrrrrrrry thinly veiled as satire, and brought to you by a cast that owns a total of 47 private jets.
NOICE!

BattleBots (2015) S6 E1
crane 2 points 2 years ago.

This is the mindless entertainment I’ve been looking for! Battlebots rules!

National Champions (2021)
KdotO 3 points 2 years ago.

Nah man you presented it like it’s on them as it’s them to blame not as in it’s the repercussion of the system their in. Yiu even said you blame thier parents for not pushing them when the whole system is based on coaches and programs preaching and selling the idea that they Will turn these kids into great men after schooling. They make parents of these student athletes believe that they are in good hands and will be looked out for but in reality it’s the furthest from the truth. These kids will only be treated as such if they are able to help out the bottom line and that Winning. Countless articles, bio and documentary on the this subject.

crane 2 points 2 years ago.

Thank you for putting that better than I could KdotO
And BIZZURR, how is it giving the kids a free ride, if they’re making millions and millions off of those kids?

National Champions (2021)
BIZZURR 2 points 2 years ago.

Ya obviously if the school is giving kids a free ride they are gonna push them into doing the very best they can at football. Plus the kids in d1 ( d3 kids don’t stand a chance ) probably all want that anyways because they want to make it to the league. If they chose to not do good in school and actually get something worth having. Sadly that’s on them , and even more so their parents for not pushing them to do better in school.

crane 1 points 2 years ago.

So, the only way to make it by participating in a system that takes advantage of the kids. And you blame the kids (who are by definition naïve) for following their dreams, and not the adult people exploiting them?
Weird take bro…

The Expanse (2015)
crane 1 points 2 years ago.

This show AMAZING! It’s exactly what sci-fi should be.
It comments on our human condition by taking things and putting them in unfamiliar context, making you leave your bias behind and causing you to reflect on what your actual values are in life.
The acting and direction can be a tad corny at times. There’s a couple actors who I think are straight up awful. But the storyline of this show is so … god it’s just amazing!

The Expanse (2015) S6 E3

So the System’s Most Wanted Man who’s caused so much destruction to both Earth, Mars and their territories, came after you with every intent to obliterate you and your crew and you got this one rare opportunity to take him out but you decided to disarm your missile for the sake of the stupid son of your girlfriend??? Really Really dumb move Capt Holden!!! Really dumb move…

crane 3 points 2 years ago*. (Contains Spoilers)

I think the son is meant to remind us that conflicts are more complicated than ‘us vs. them’. Even our enemies are not so distant and different. They have families and are human.
That was Holden demonstrating the wisdom and humanity that I think will be a saving grace in the end.
Plus, Marcos would also be quite powerful as a martyr.

That’s why I love this show though. It really makes you think about what your views are in real life!

Terrible result. I don’t know what the jury was thinking at all. So weak.

Comedians Giving Lectures (2019)

The only thing modern comedians ever do is lecture people. Can someone please create a show called ‘Comedians Doing Comedy’?

I agree with the first squatter!

Last Night in Soho (2021)
crane 3 points 2 years ago.

Edgar Wright is one of the best directors alive. This was fantastic!
A very unique vision, full of great twists and turns, and the main two actresses were amazing.
Highly recommend!

The Problem with Jon Stewart (2021) S1 E2

Jon finds touch with MSM in this episode. Not great..

Dopesick (2021)
Jaxluger 6 points 2 years ago.

You get the feeling from the show that the FDA is in the pockets of the drug companies. The thought is the FDA is there to protect the consumers but it seems from this that they are in the pockets of the drug companies. Are they there to make sure drug company liability is minimal to fiascos like OxyContin? No of course they are there to protect the consumers, yeah no issues in the government

crane 8 points 2 years ago.

Take a look at the CEO’s and boards of companies like Pfizer, J and J, and Merck. There are huge amounts of crossover between them and people who’ve served as directors in the FDA. It’s literally a revolving door.
Work for Pfizer, get hired at the FDA, then go back to Pfizer, then back to the FDA.
It’s so crooked it’s scary.

Spider-Man: Far from Home (2019)

I don’t know what character Tom Holland is playing, but it ain’t Peter Parker!
They gave Spidey to the dang tiktok-ers

The Outlaws (2021) S1 E1
crane 2 points 2 years ago.

Just beating us over the head with the most lazily written characters of all time.
When did comedy just become preaching? Oof.
This was almost a parody of itself it’s so bad.

A Clockwork Orange (1972)
crane 2 points 2 years ago.

Yes. It’s disturbing. But it does a wonderful job of making you reflect on some really complex moral quandaries.
Kubrik’s use of music is top-notch.
And Malcolm McDowell is bloody brilliant!
Amazing movie. Seen it multiple times and it’s only gotten better.
If you can bare a little of the old ultra-violence, definitely give it a go!

Survivor (2000) S41 E6

Jeff said it was a two part episode, but there only seems to be one part?

The Earthshot Prize: Repairing Our Planet (2021)
crane 2 points 2 years ago.

There is nothing better than a person who was born into, (and hoards) impossible riches due to being the descendent of slave traders and murderers, gets more millions from Netflix to portray themselves as a deeply caring person who fights for what’s right!
Thank goodness for the prince!

Until he spends a summer planting trees (without a camera crew and netflix deal) or invests his massive wealth in real change, he needs to go away and fire all of his publicists.

Survivor (2000) S41 E4

VERY happy with that result. I was starting to get worried he’d be all over this season. Dude was insufferable

Survivor South Africa (2006) S8 E15
crane 0 points 2 years ago.

Quite possibly the least likable cast of any survivor season ever. I don’t want anyone of them to win. Even the host seems like a jerk!

Animals with Cameras (2018)
crane 2 points 2 years ago.

Nothing worse than thinking you’re getting a nature doc, and getting some self-important nature photographer making a doc about themselves.
You are neither cooler, nor more interesting than the nature.
I just wanted an hour of animal gopro footage!

Kung Fu Hustle (2004)

I laughed, I cried, and I was blown away by the action! This is one of the most wall to wall entertaining movies I’ve ever seen. Will watch again!
