I defended this show against you in the beginning. Now I can’t help but agree. I loved Jared Padalecki in Supernatural and it was the main reason I was drawn to this show. I’m not sure what happened, but its like he has forgotten how to act.
As for the overall story, it is mediocre at best which is a shame. I won’t be returning for season 2 either.

Plus, its season 3 and the main villain is still Malavore. Which isn’t even a good monster. It is literally a mud man who walks in slow motion. I get this show is more light hearted in an attempt to target a younger audience, but they need to take it back to the days of powerful vampires, werewolves and witches. Even if they don’t, there is so much variety and lore in the monster department that they could focus on like Supernatural did.

I don’t know if Jordan Kent is canon, but I know Jonathan is. Maybe why he’s the older brother. It’s the second episode, so development for Jordan may have to take some time. Hopefully not too long… I’ve an anime called Wanna Be the Strongest in the World about a female pop idol becoming a pro-wrestler. Now THAT is SLOW progression. Watched several episodes, canonically lost over 100 matches. Couldn’t watch it anymore, knowing how dumb that was.

Jordan isn’t canon as far as I know and I read a lot of comics lol. I think what tipped me to say that was the preview to the next episode showing him arguing again. I hope you’re right with it being early on, but so far it seems to be a pattern of ending on a high with Jordan understanding to going straight back to angsty teen the next episode. I’ve not watched that anime, but as a shonen isekai lover I have seen many series with little development and no ending payoff.

Great second episode!! So far, it has been a smooth blend of Man of Steel and Smallville. I have to add that the effects are really good, better than Supergirl for sure. I think Jonathan Kent is a really likeable character and I look forward to him getting powers. So far my only complaint is the writing for Jordan Kent whose character goes up and down more than a yoyo. One minute you think he is developing and then its straight back to angsty teen. A minor complaint on a so far great show. 4.5/5

‘So far’ being the key words. Only 2 episodes and look how well Jared has shown his character to be a broken man. I get it, people want more fighting because they liked the original, but that isn’t what this show is trying to do. It might not be for everyone and people are free to not watch it or watch the original. My original point was that people needed to stop making a comparison as their argument towards this being a bad show when this show is going more for story build and the Chuck one was going for action.

Then go watch that show. The existence of this one doesn’t prevent that last I checked. You see it as lame because they have an actor who can flesh out the character more rather than throwing kicks every couple of minutes. Also, based on your barmaid statement I can tell you aren’t someone who likes a strong story. Perhaps go and binge some Steven Seagal flicks.

People seriously need to stop comparing this to the original. Yes, this show is based on the Chuck Norris one, but it doesn’t mean it has to be an exact duplicate. Yes, the original had more action, but that is a given when you cast a 7 time world karate champion. Lets be real though, the story was mediocre at best and Chuck’s acting was abysmal. Where the original used Chuck’s fighting status to drive the show, this one is using Jareds superior acting in the same way. This shows vocal point is the importance of family. Plus, its only 2 episodes in and I care more about these characters than any from the original. On that note I’m sure the action will build up as the show goes on with relevance to the story, unlike the original that shoved action down your throat hoping it would cover the poor acting.

Honestly, this show doesn’t receive the recognition it deserves. Such a fantastic show. Not just because of the fighting, which is incredible, but also due to amazing characters backed up by a awesome storyline. As for this episode, easily the best of the series thus far. There was me thinking they wouldn’t outdo the tournament episode with Michael Bisping, how wrong I was. Love the nod to Bruce Lee’s fighting style, you’ll understand when you watch the episode.

SPOILER! I’m not overly happy with the way Dean went out, a vampire nest after all the things they’ve faced. However, everything that followed was beautiful. So as far as endings go, I think they did a great job. As Chuck once said, “Endings are never easy.” That is extra true with a show that has been on for 15 years. Goodbye J2M, Bobby, John, Mary, Jack and everyone who made this show as amazing as it was. You may be gone (For now), but the SPN family live on.

No that won’t be the case. Soldier Boy is a staple of S3 and will appear often. Eric Kripke wouldn’t do Jensen like that as they’re good friends.

I know Jensen Ackles was busy with Supernatural, but what a wasteful casting. His name shouldn’t be in the info as that is what drew me in. Someone of his calibre and he is in it for 30 seconds. As for the movie, it was okay. Felt like a knockoff version of “Tag” with less story and less point. Still worth a one time watch I guess. 2.5/5

If you read my comment or watch the interviews they did, they said regarding the last two episodes you’ll get the season end and then the series end. So this episode gave us a conclusion to the God Arc. I reckon the next episode will be like a full on fan service goodbye to the fans episode.

Considering this is the season end before the series end episode I think they done a good job. It is tough to end any show, let alone one that has been on for 15 years. I would be satisfied with this being the last, yet I’m fortunate enough to know that there is one more :)

Going to give an updated review on this show as all the comments are from a year ago. I can honestly say that this is one of the best shows going at the moment and if you haven’t seen it yet then you’re missing out big time. Firstly, the acting is top notch and each character delivers in every scene, especially the lead character. Secondly, as expected from a show based off the writings of Bruce Lee, the action is kick ass and really well done. Lastly, the story is great with intertwining stories all being told from different perspectives but, at no point does it feel convoluted. 5/5

Beg to differ. She started out in the 1960’s as Batgirl. She was police commissioner Gordon’s daughter, and she was a potential love interest for Adam West’s batman. Besides, my comment was not about the character’s being gay so much as it is about there not being one, lead female comic book superhero who has to balance dating and/or family with supernatural powers. Yes, Wonderwoman has her man, but she doesn’t get to date around. Jessica Jones sleeps around, but you never see her in loving relationships. Susan Storm isn’t the lead. That leaves what? Alien? That’s not a comic book.

The original Batwoman was introduced in the 1950s as a love interest for Batman. Her real name was Kathy Kane but this version of Batwoman was retired in the 1960s because Batgirl was introduced in 1961 and quickly became more popular than the senior crimefighter. Anyway, the first iteration of Batgirl was actually called Betty Kane and was a niece to Batwoman, but that character was completely revamped a few years later to become the modern Batgirl we all know and love — Barbara Gordon, daughter of police commissioner James Gordon. She was shot by the Joker and would become Oracle until 2011 when New 52 launched and made her Batgirl again. So the original Batgirl did not have relations with Batman and she was not the same person as Batwomen, she was her niece. It should also be pointed out that both the original versions from the 50’s and 60’s were retconned out of existence. All canon iterations have Barbara as Batgirl and Kate as Batwomen. It can be noted that 3 others took the mantle of Batgirl while Barbara was out of commission but none of them was Kate. Anyways to cut a complex history short, this version of Batwomen is based on the 2006 novel as an original character since she has her own backstory which differs to the original which is no longer considered canon and in the 2006 debut of this Batwomen she is a lesbian. As far as your comment goes, you literally said that you don’t think she should have been gay and now your saying it has nothing to do with that :/. With regards to the rest of your comment, there has been plenty of female characters both DC and Marvel which have had similar situations. Your comment is kind of hard to understand as you say she should just be single and sleep around as though that would offer more plot when in reality it wouldn’t.

It isn’t like they made her gay specifically for this show :/ … She is a gay comic book character and has been such since her debut in DC.
Arrow (2012) S8 E2
First the positive, I think the main storyline has been awesome so far and it really feels like it is going to lead up to one of the greatest finales of any show out there. Unfortunately, with every positive there must be a negative and with this particular episode I have two. I am going to put a SPOILER WARNING so do not read on if you have yet to watch the episode…….. Okay, firstly the whole future arc has become pointless at this point, it kind of made sense for season 7 showing how the future generation was unifying star city and breaking down boarders. This season it just feels like it doesn’t fit with the pointless deathstroke crew etc. Plus the characters, especially Mia are just angsty teenagers and with Arrow coming to an end soon I feel no connection with them whatsoever. Secondly, a certain character came back for this episode which was China White. Remember her, she was about in the first 3 seasons where Oliver ended up kicking her ass blah blah blah. Fast forward so many years and Oliver who at this point has pretty much beaten anyone of worth up to and including the Dragon Head of the League of Assassins and aliens I might add is unable to beat Chine White in a 1 v 1 fight. Why does Arrow consistently make him lose to people he should clearly be better than. She shouldn’t of even been a challenge. They done this back in season 4 and 5 to the point where even fans started kicking up a fuss. It seemed to disappear or be a little less obvious for season 6 and 7 but it appears to be back. Annoying!!!

So if you saw my comment on Supergirl S5E1 you knew this one was coming afterwards. Hmm, what can I say about the pilot episode of this show that is positive? The casting is pretty decent, I think they made a good choice with Ruby Rose and the ensemble cast surrounding her. The Bat suit looked pretty awesome and I think that the story has a lot of potential to open up as the show goes on. Now for the negative….. I found the Flashbacks to be unnecessary this early on, I felt that they could of saved that for a later episode along with the twist at the end revealing who the bad woman really was to our lead character Kate. I also found the fight scenes to be very basic and overall typical along with the fighting itself to be shown in multiple cuts. I am not expecting it to be as good as the movies but when you have shows like Arrow, Daredevil and Punisher out there which are constantly pushing the boundaries of choreography you expect a little better. I hope that as the season progresses, these factors do as well. The last part of my comment may offend some people but it is not my intention. I am a huge comic book fan and therefore am aware that Batwoman from this version is a lesbian which I have no problems with at all. What I would say is that I hope they don’t needlessly push it in our faces for no reason. If it is plot driven or just general scenes that add to the dynamic of the episode then that is great but I hope the show avoids using such scenes to push a pointless ulterior motive of attracting more LGBT viewers at the sacrifice of a weak story. At the very least it has my attention and I shall stick with it as long as I think it is worth it like I did with Supergirl which is currently losing such concentration at the moment.

To be honest, I only watch this show so that I am up to date for when they do any crossovers. It never began like that, it was just something that emerged from lazy writing over the course of the shows history. The show tries to tackle dark issues but ends up coming off as a teen drama with pointless conversations that do little for the overall plot. Judging by this first episode they seem to have moved away from the left/right wing immigration agenda plaguing the US which they use to shove in viewers faces in favour of actual enjoyable plot. I digress however to the actual reason of this comment and that is to do with the opening episode of this season. I found it to be a weak addition, the story has been repeated before, it really didn’t add anything to the overall arc, the villain was ridiculous and in all honesty I have nearly hit my limit on how weak they make Martian Manhunter appear in this show when he is arguably as strong as Superman. Once crisis crossover finishes I think I will be done with this show also. I hope the new Batwomen show doesn’t follow suit as I am about to watch the first episode, wish me luck!

As of yet this is my least favourite episode. I prefer the more realistic stance the show had for the first 5 episodes. It was like watching a combination of Sherlock Holmes and Legend (Kray Twins). I understand it is DC but hopefully they won’t go drastically far fetched with their episodes from this point forward as I feel it doesn’t suit the tone of the show.

Might be a wait, all things considered. Gonna have to hire a lot of new actors as well, considering how many that they have killed off in this one, also. Been a lot of attrition. But when it finally comes, man, oh man, it’s gonna be a really good one!😁
Yes, I imagine it will be a while before we get the new season. I am confident it will be excellent. They have yet to disappoint me. Plus, with the additional funds from being on HBO, which was shown well in this season, I imagine they will be able to get some great actors onboard. I mean they had Mark Decascos this season. How awesome is that!!!!
