I’ve always been ‘Ruthless’. Never had a Ruth of my own. There was one who lived pretty close to me when I was a kid but I never really knew her. I knew her big brother Brian though and he was an @rse. Ruth seemed quite sweet to be honest. Maybe it would be quite nice to have a Ruth? I’ll probably never find out. I’m too old for that kind of thing these days.

I don’t understand why people are blaming Jodie Whittaker for the decline. Granted she isn’t who I would have chosen for the first female Doctor, I would have liked to see someone like Michelle Ryan. That would have worked perfectly off of Peter Capaldi’s bit of the Doctor sometimes using the faces of people he’s meet before. Jodie doesn’t make my top 5 or anything like that. However that being said I think she has done great with what she has been given. The REAL problem with Jodie’s three seasons (well two so far) is 100% Chris Chibnall…SO BAD!!! I hear he’s leaving when Jodie leaves after this upcoming season. And I couldn’t be happier!!

I have always heard of how highly regarded his works were, but I never got around to watching them until recently. I still haven’t seen much, only Chungking Express and these. And I haven’t watched 2046 properly, only bits and pieces. I really want to see Fallen Angels and Ashes in Time.

Amazing movie! There are tons of videos on youtube dedicated just to breaking down the cinematography of this film. It’s the second installment in a loose trilogy…the first being “Days of Being Wild”, and culminating with “2046”.

Got a ghost and a witch living in my garage at the moment up here in the North of England. They’re a bit of a pain in the arse to be honest. The ghost keeps drinking all of my booze and the witch is a homicidal maniac but she’s really powerful and she refuses to leave.

Having had the misfortune of visiting Whitstable once I definitely wouldn’t have made a TV series set there. Dreadful place. Peter Cushing used to live there though, so it must have something going for it.

Edit: The locals used to sing a song. It went something like ‘Peter Cushing lives in Whitstable/ You can see him on his bicycle/ I once saw him buying vegetables/ Peter Cushing lives in Whitstable’ He’s dead now though so pretty unlikely that you’re going to see him doing either of those things these days.

In my opinion the three greatest short films are Chris Marker’s Le Jetee, Alain Resnais’ Night And Fog and Albert Lamorisse’s The Red Balloon. Curiously, all three films are French and yet are so different in genre, style and subject matter, but all three are worth watching back to back to give you a sense of what is possible in just over 90.minutes of film making, the length of an average film.
However, if you’re looking for a single film to make you smile, The Red Balloon is for you.

Just got around to watching this and it was pretty much what I expected it to be. Not as good as ‘Adam’s Apples’ or ‘The Green Butchers’ but still really entertaining. Some of the black humour might upset some people though so be warned. And you do get to see Nicolas Bro topless and that’s something that I feel that I ought to warn people about too. All men envy his physique. Lots and lots of ridiculous facial hair in this movie. Mads looked ancient with that beard and Nikolaj Lie Kaas was virtually unrecognisable. Really good fun. I enjoyed it a lot.

That’s a really strong looking cast with some of Denmark’s finest actors and Anders Thomas Jensen’s films are usually great. Definitely going to be watching this ASAP. Many thanks to whoever uploaded this here.

Hooray! A new film to add to that long list of movies with titles that sound like something evil that Lovecraft might have come up with.

True story this. My brother went to ‘Pembleton Honey World’ years ago and he bought me this little bee shaped pendant there and it’s made of nickel. And it doesn’t wear underwear. Ever since then I’ve referred to it as my knickerless nickel bee. And that was how I fell in love with the works of Charles Dickens.

I preferred the old style British slavery where we rampaged across the globe subjugating people and stealing all of their resources and causing endless damage and wars and slaughter and just called it ‘The Empire’ and pretended that it was a good thing rather than something despicable to be thoroughly ashamed of. This recent stuff seems pretty minor in comparison. I blame Brexit for that.

I’m gonna have to agree with Waters that this should have been a short film instead of a feature-length.

One key to the dark, dystopian vision is his continued use of Amphetamines. i believe Stephen King used them too, both writers of prolific weirdness. Ever take speed? It’ll lead you down some dark by-ways and of course, creativity is only a fine line away from insanity EVER. Speed also makes you paranoid, another shared ingredient in this genre. This doc made me feel sad, not a lot of happiness going on but i suppose the work, his output, is justification.. i have long believed that great art is usually the product of obsession, which leads to compromise in all other areas of a Life. Sad Life but some great stories

I use Streamzz with some frequency; my browser is Firefox, with uBlock Origin. After years of experimenting, those are my preferred browser and ad-blocker.

FF does one weird thing, but it’s so minor that I don’t care: When I post comments using Disqus, FF sometimes inserts and extra line-space. That’s the only hiccup I’ve had with it, and in all other ways, including privacy issues, I’m happier w FF than I was with Chrome and Opera.

Hah isn’t it funny how these things work for some people and not for others! Maybe it depends on which part of the world you’re in.. Drag for me as a lot of old foreign movies just appear here on Clip and Aparat and i can’t seem to use either. I’ll try to find UBlock.. I’ve even successfully used Streamz occasionally, see.. Funny!! Thanks for your reply anyhow, yeah i just got a wee fit of frustration at yet another movie i won’t be able to watch :))x

A MESSAGE TO WHOEVER IT IS THAT UPLOADS THESE OLD MOVIES.. Posting on Clipwatching and Aparat is frankly an unkindness to viewers like myself.. i can NEVER watch ANY of these interesting old flicks you post here. CLIPWATCHING.com says “Disable ADBLOCK in order to continue viewing”.. i tried that 2 yrs ago but it still says the same message and won’t open try as i might. APARAT.com is just a hog-fest of unwanted ads which come cascading at you when you try to connect in spite of ADBLOCK, and they keep on coming even after you close them, too frustrating to manage actually watching the movie, i’ve NEVER managed to watch ANY of the movies you kindly posted here on these IMPOSSIBLE links. PLEASE NOTE, OTHER CLEANER LINKS REQUIRED FOR EVERYTHING YOU POSTED like EVER! MIXDROP or DOOD or some of the others work fine in spite of their pop-ups which can easily be dealt with.. When i see CLIPWATCHING and APARAT listed my heart just sinks as i know they won’t work.. PLEASE could you find suitable alternatives. I KNOW.. i should ask for links elsewhere but this is something different, a GENERAL PLEA for better connections. must watch.. Masterpiece

This is such an incredible film - if you like your cinema with a dose of high strangeness then this is one definitely for you.
Kudos to whoever posted this, I saw it a couple of times when it came out and its such a pleasure to revisit it as it is one of those films that seem to improve with repeat viewing.
File under independent/arthouse but in the best sense of the terms.

31 seasons of three old men rolling down a hill in Yorkshire in a bathtub and an ugly freak perving over some poor woman’s stocking clad legs. Makes me proud to be British to see this here.

It’s definitely worth seeing, however big a fan you may be of the original (and I am). I think that there is also a Japanese or Korean spin on this too but I could be remembering that wrong because I’m old and addled.

If nothing else you’ve got to love the producer’s name. Seymour Nebenzal. That really warms my cockles. It sounds like both an instruction to read more Lovecraft and also an exotic invitation to broaden your horizons a bit too. I’m in my fifties and I’ve never seen ANY Nebenzal. I probably ought to try to see at least SOME of it before the current virus related boredom kills me.

A bloody great film. Way better than the pointless US remake but isn’t that always the case?

That was a bit cheesy and old school but it was alright until it got all preachy and moralistic in the last five minutes.

This little cheapo short managed to make me hate bullies more than I already do which is a feat in itself I suppose. The very predictable twist that wasn’t really a twist in the last few minutes was. . . well, nothing really though. Film school student stuff and Christ knows what the moral was supposed to be at the end, if it it was even aiming for trying to say something remotely profound about the subject matter.

A D- minus from me for whoever shot this. Must try harder in future. Your films need to have some kind of point to them and not be just a tacky excuse for you to show off a bit of bare flesh if you want to be taken seriously.It did pass ten minutes or so though. I’ll give it that.

Late edit: Just a word of warning though if you are planning on viewing this (I really wouldn’t bother if I were you). If you don’t have a reasonable grasp of Spanish then just forget about it because the English subtitles are absolutely microscopic.
