I fooled myself into watching what I thought was a film about casino gambling/beating the system etc. I read the title and skimmed the synopsis and did not bother with watching the trailer, not my typical way of doing things.
And what do I get for my lack of trouble? A truly excellent movie.
With very believable acting performances and disturbingly realistic scenarios, this film delivers a powerful message without the overabundance of dramatic music/poses/redundant scenes and so on that is hollywood norm for such heavy subject matter.
Make no mistake! This movie is Not about high stakes poker, but about the long term effects of mental manipulation, conditioning and torture as experienced by those that did the physical work involved.

Agreed…excellent movie…gotta watch it to the end. What is the point of ppl commenting, when they have NOT even watched the film in it’s entirety smh. Glad I watched this…very different, yet moving.

I agree. I really, really tried to enjoy Season 4 too, but it was such a painful struggle. At some point it was just pointless watching. The seasons with Gabriel though, woosh, what fantastic productions those were - gripping, thorougly enjoyed them. I console myself with Couples Therapy though, it’s a good enough one I think. Looking for more of such…

The 1st 3 seasons were great. I enjoyed mostly all of it. Season 4 I find to be so boring and very hard to watch. They need to bring Gabriel Byrne back as the therapist. I do NOT care for the current one at all. Nothing like the 1st 3 seasons. I could not even bring myself to watch lots of episodes…skipped skipped trying to give it so many chances. Why change when it is already working and a good show…smh.

Don’t know what all the down buzz on the actress and the movie is all about,,,I thought it was a rather nice movie and without over explosions and fake dramatic bullshit it was a good watch,keeping in mind that there’s not much left to the imagination on this type of movie making without over the top fake fireworks,,good watch relax and enjoy

Too long n drawn out. Stopped it a few times and wasn’t sure if I wanted to finish. After reading discussion, I decided to find out what this unexpected ending was all about. Still slow paced n unrealistic. The ending was the best part.

Denying someone food, sleep, and social contact is not ‘kink.’ Systematically diminishing someone’s capacity to function in the above ways is no different than drugging someone. Consent is not legally possible at that point. It doesn’t matter the socio-economic standing of the victims, this is nothing other than criminally predatory behavior.

Superb Action-packed movie you would NOT wanna miss. This is by far the best action movie I have seen this year. I was surprised that I missed this movie, when it was released. The entire casts did an awesome job…2 thumbs up Jamie Foxx, Channing Tatum, and Joey King from The Act. This is a must-see, so watch it NOW. ;)
