Horrid,this is a mockery,and the friend?why,just why?

peternorth 2 points 2 years ago.

Ugh you were right….as soon as I saw “A Peacock Original” that should’ve been a clue. Sort of felt like the characters of “Clueless” trying to explain UFOs to someone who knows absolutely nothing about them. “Ooooh my Gooooawwwdd” (about 1000 times each episode). “Let’s go exploorrRRREeee!”. “OOhh I’m SOOO excited!!”. And finally, “Demi is a firm believer in mermaids - are there mermaids near Catalina island?” - that line alone should be enough for you to decide whether or not this show is for you.

They talk about disinformation, sure some of the incidents could have been our own technology being tested. Back in late 60s I used to gather old weather maps at Milwaukee TM field, one night there was a huge military presence and a ship on the tarmac that looked like the saucer shaped ship from Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. We came within 500 feet of the craft so had a decent view of it, I gathered my maps, and when we left we were escorted a different direction out of the airport so we could not take a 2nd look at the craft. They had fuel trucks, half dozen Jeeps, and a couple larger rigs there… So sure, I agree they may be testing technology and the public may see and then they try and cover it up, but every sighting, very unlikely as sightings predate air travel. And now that everyone has mini-computer with a camera built in, certain they would be more covert, and I have not heard many sightings even of the giant triangle that is shaped like the vessel they show in this episode, but it was solid, not a flying V, a triangle in early 80s.. They did have news story saying they were going to advertise in space back then, so prototype? But why are people still seeing it locally 35 years later?
So this episode tries to explain away many sightings, but still leaves us questioning whether or not they are all explainable or not…

Every time I see a UFO show that attempts to debunk some UFOs as US technology being tested, I think of the Project Bluebook file I read on Kelly Johnson, probably the greatest aircraft designer that ever lived. He designed the U2 spy plane and the SR-71 Blackbird, still arguably the fastest aircraft ever built, both of which were claimed by skeptics as the most likely reason for UFO sightings throughout the 1950’s and 1960’s. But if you read the actual Bluebook file, you will see that Kelly Johnson had closeup sightings of his own in the early 1950’s that mirror the objects seen even today (it’s available to read online, complete with Kelly Johnson’s own drawings).

Probably because it’s free to watch on-demand with no commercials on the byutv values based television network website. There’s no reason to have to download it.

Superman & Lois (2021)
Themoo 3 points 3 years ago.

You’ll notice it does not adhere to the standard DC on CW blueprint. No attractive nerd in the chair and on comms, telling the hero what to do while providing light comedy.

peternorth 3 points 3 years ago.

I know, I literally felt like I was watching a theatrical release, not just a tv series. I’m sure this won’t last given the CW’s reputation, but I can only hope.

Superman & Lois (2021)
peternorth 0 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I generally can’t watch anything the CW produces, but this Superman thing is pretty good so far. I’ve only seen the first 2 episodes, but I would say it’s better than any of the last several Hollywood film releases since “Superman Returns”. This Clark is more reminiscent of Christopher Reeves’ version, which I’ve always preferred over any of the others, including Henry Cavill’s version who seemed to me like a Superman with a lot of underlying issues. Hopefully it doesn’t go full-blown SJW / teen drama like a lot of the other CW offerings have but we’ll see.

Version #44 is the original 1982 video tape release version - Enjoy!

Umm, there are only 43 versions listed lol. Guess I have to buy the Despecialized Original Trilogy

Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977)
joeinwb -1 points 4 years ago.

This is the only truly good movie of the star wars franchise. Rogue one is pretty good also. The rest are garbage

peternorth 4 points 3 years ago.

I agree. I saw all 3 when they first came out in the theater, the first film blew me away as a kid, never seen anything like it before. Everyone was bonkers over it. Empire was pretty good too, but it didn’t feel complete like the first film, which of course it wasn’t. ROTJ was my least favorite of the original trilogy. I’ve really tried to give the new films a chance, saw the 2nd trilogy in the theater, but it felt like I was watching cartoons. I just couldn’t develop any feelings for any of the characters. The computer effects were so unrealistic I couldn’t suspend my disbelief. The physics just aren’t right. And modern Hollywood chase scenes have just become filler, they drag films down. Another thing that bugs me is the changes Lucas made to the original trilogy. George Lucas, the guy I remember in the late 1980’s who publicly and legally FOUGHT to stop the colorization of old B/W films claiming it destroyed art, hypocritically alters HIS films to the point that literally changes the characters. And Han DID shoot first! If he doesn’t, he loses that dimension of bad-guy-turns-good-guy for love.

I’m not sure how to add links, but if you can’t find the new episode of tucker carlson on youtube, Dailymotion usually has it shortly after it airs.

Nice to see Tucker popping up on here

peternorth 1 points 3 years ago.

Need more links though. They get kicked off youtube as fast as they’re put on. Best news show on TV. His show just got the highest ratings in the history of all news shows. He deserves it, unlike all the others carrying water for Carl Marx.

Libertylass 9 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

You are absolutely right. The BLM leaders are admitted Marxists. Their goal is to get rid of the old system to bring about the new. The people who support BLM are going to love what’s coming! Communism killed 100 million in the 20th century. It has been a scourge on the world. The first to be lined up and shot are always the useless idiots that brought about the revolution. The violence and the rhetoric is getting ramped up, and the idiots really believe it’s about race and equality. Wonder why they don’t see that aren’t anti establishment. They have every corporation, the mass media and the vast majority of government backing and excusing their looting, burning, smashing, beating. They should be asking why? Why would their repulsive actions be excused? Because they’re doing the bidding of those in power who will greatly benefit from chaos they’re creating.

Can you imagine if the “proud boys” donned black uniforms, body armor and masks and burned a city down? The outrage would be insane! But even Nancy Pelosi said “people will do what they do…I don’t care alot about statues”. My God, even President Macron of France, THEE most liberal society on the planet, said no way in hell are people going to damage statues - they aren’t going anywhere.

LOL @ how easy it is for the elites to get folks to fight n kill each other while they burn and loot the world…”its a big club and you ain’t in it”

peternorth 1 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I agree, this whole thing that’s going on in the world with “BLM” and antifa pushing communism is just a game of chess being played by the elite and the media, and we’re the pawns. The Democrats have spent 4 years demonizing Trump, and letting the country fall into despair, so now they can put out ads saying “Joe will save you!”. It’s hilarious yet terrifying at the same time, especially knowing that people that were elected to run the government are purposely trying to tear it down just to get votes.

Themoo, with all due respect, there is hyperbole there.
I’ve spent several hours going over this and have every quote they’ve come out with to date.
I’d like to list them here only for ‘context’ yet won’t for sake of this good site.

I will say, his username was CharlesXII and ‘yes’ there were some racist and sexist comments however your claim of ‘full fledged white supremacist’ and ‘advanced white supremacist ideas’ is not accurate.

It’s a site like 4chan directed toward lawyers and law students that’s not moderated. He mostly responded to ‘subjects’ that were far more racist and sexist than his comments. It could be argued ‘Blazing Saddles’ is far rougher than the comments he made.

Don’t get me wrong, I do not defend him, only here for context, fairness and Tucker’s show because you also wrote, ‘And it has been written by a white supremacist’. You ‘imply’ unfairly there.

Blake was the top writer there a few years now and wrote at the publication Tucker recently sold his share in. Blake is used much however, Tucker goes over the material with all writers as well and puts his own in as always. Blake also contributed to Tuckers book Ship of Fools.

I’ve had unsavory people work for and with me yet, I wasn’t aware of what they did nor said in their personal time nor saw it in the workplace. Yet if it did come within, we’d get it out.
Guilt by association is a dangerous harmful thing so, Blake should be accountable for Blake, not Tucker.

And what I do know of Tucker he wouldn’t have approved. Believe it or not, many in DC from both sides and within the journalism/news world like Tucker. Spend time with him. Think he’s very sharp, friendly, generous man who has a big heart, lots of empathy and would be there for you in a second.

I’ve watched Tucker for years and since Fox, nearly every single show he’s put out. And must say, do not agree with all he states (whom ever does with anyone) yet like any diamond, you dust the dirt from it.
And I’ve found far more diamond than dirt and better educated for it.
I wish more people would be open minded enough to give things a chance because even some of the smallest fruits give the sweetest tastes.

There may be more to come out, we’ll see. Yet he handed in his resignation Friday and Tucker will address it this coming monday.
Thanks for the time Themoo, it’s appreciated. Have a ‘Great Day’ :)

peternorth 5 points 3 years ago.

I wonder how he got caught? I can only imagine how much money has been spent by the left in order to dig up any kind of dirt they can find to hurt or “cancel” Tucker Carlson. I imagine he’s one of the biggest thorns in their side right now.

Tucker Carlson Tonight (2016)
Jeshush 14 points 4 years ago.

Jump-started a vomit when I saw this horrible thing listed here. It is part of another virus we are all dying from: the stupid one. Cucker spews lies and venom everyday from the cesspit that is Fox Snooze. That said, this swastika monster is actually quite humorous in his spittoon vitriol. The trouble is, the über-dense are weakminded to believe it.

peternorth 4 points 3 years ago.

What “lies” has Tucker Carlson “spewed” exactly? You mean about those Covington kids who attacked that poor old Indian guy? Or that Jussie guy who was attacked by angry white guys who threw bleach on him and put a noose around his neck? Or that what’s her name psychology college professor who said she was traumatized by that supreme court justice that raped her at some place she forgot in some year she forgot surrounded by people who never even heard of her before? Oh wait, again, wrong channel. I’m not sure what lies you’re talking about, I’ve only seen them on the other news channels. Are you sure you’ve actually watched Tucker Carlson’s show? You should take of that “helmet of blocking” and try actually listening to what he has to say; then check the facts of what he’s saying and see for yourself whether or not it’s true. I’ve already proven to you that the other “news” channels are not telling the truth with just a few examples I mentioned above.

Just finished the first ep, and I think there’s some potential there. Now if they can hire some comedy writers it might get pretty good.

peternorth 5 points 4 years ago.

I’ve watched the first 3 episodes, and it’s actually a lot better than I expected. I thought it was going to be something completely different than what it is, but I’m starting to look forward to watching it every week, unlike the new season of Doctor Who…

Project Blue Book (2019)
etim 2 points 4 years ago.

It gets better.

peternorth 1 points 4 years ago.

I was kinda hoping it was going to be a serious, fact-based series dramatizing actual UFO investigations by Blue Book, along the lines of the old Dragnet tv series or something. I watched the first 2 episodes and it appears to me to be a fantasy series VERY loosely based on the Project Blue Book investigations.

These are easily the greatest fantasy films ever made. I’ve probably seen them a good 30 or 40 times, and each time I watch them I notice different things I didn’t catch before, there is just so much adventure packed into each film. Would love to see the “Truckers” miniseries again, preferably the complete series, if not I would settle for the older video release cut. They released a dvd set of the complete uncut series recently, but it’s PAL-only :(
