Absolutely awful. The bar isn’t even a roadhouse, it’s some kind of weird beach side tiki hut. Terrible story, terrible fight scenes, terrible acting. Thank god the original still exists as a landmark of what a fantastic movie should be. Jake…what were you thinking?

I’m not sure why an alien civilization so advanced it can travel light years across the galaxy… would arrive only to deploy drones that look and move like a toaster with legs. Figured they’d have something a bit more formidable.

Pleasantly surprised! I’d never heard of it and had no expectations going in so I thought it was quite refreshing. The whole seeing thoughts thing is a bit annoying at first but you get used to it. A refreshing movie that moves at a decent pace. 4/5.

Argh. That was frustrating. It had the potential to be soooo much better. It’s like they tried to blend Girl Interrupted with The Lady in the Water but failed. Poor character development and scenes seemingly jumping from one to the next without satisfactory explanations. I watched till the end out of sheer ‘where the hell is this going’ but ultimately it failed to deliver.

Pretty decent one time watch! Was worried how it was going to pan out but a very satisfactory conclusion. :) Brutal and frustrating in parts but worth persevering with. 3/5 from me.

I enjoyed this, but that may be because I’m 42! It was reminiscent of the late 80s/early 90s martial arts underdog b-movies I grew up on but with a love story. Not everyone’s cup of tea but kept me entertained.
