Details:

The majority of women in rural Iowa had domestic jobs in the 1950s. Many of those women turned on the radio due to isolation on a farm. Radio homemakers helped women with their domestic duties as “neigbors on the air”. The documentary also contains interviews with radio homemaker Evelyn Birkby, historian Chuck Offenburger, and historian Tom Morain.
