Bosko is a soda jerk (in more ways than one), happily whistling as he makes ice cream sodas. Bosko serves a mouse such a big soda that the only way the mouse can reach the straw is to spin his stool as high as it will go. Good service. But later, Bosko breaks his mixer and, by twisting the rodent's tail to make his head turn around, uses the mouse customer as a replacement. Bosko's former schoolteacher comes in for a soda. She's enjoying the rotating electric fan; but when Bosko puts the ice cream soda on the counter, the fan blows it in her face. Bosko only laughs at her. Honey calls and asks Bosko to bring an ice cream cone for her bratty kitten pupil. The delivery proves to be more of a trial than Bosko had expected.

Bosko is about to cut down a tree when a squirrel pops out of its hole and begs him to spare it. The anthropomorphic tree cowers as little trees gather around to protect it. Everyone is relieved when Bosko pulls a harmonica out of his pocket and plays. Bosko the woodsman will spend his day in the forest playing music instead of cutting down trees. Meanwhile, the trees and animals of the forest dance and make their own music.

Bosko and Honey yodel happily in the Alps, but then disaster strikes. Bosko slides down a tree to meet Honey, but loses control and falls onto a pair of wooden planks that double as skis. Bosko knocks down Honey, who falls downhill in a snowball until she smashes into a rock and topples over a cliff. Bosko, on his runaway skis, hits the same rock and comes to sudden stop. Now Honey is rushing downriver on an ice floe. As she cries for help, Bosko finds a St. Bernard and together they race to save Honey. Meanwhile, a mouse in Honey's home plays golf, using macaroni as a golf club, a pea as a ball and a slice of Swiss cheese as his golf course.

Bosko and his porcine friend are hobos in a boxcar; they happily play "Cryin' for the Carolines" with Bosko doing vocals and the pig on the banjo. Meanwhile, the anthropomorphic engine is having trouble on the rails; it has to go up steep hills and pass over missing tracks. It even sprouts hands and arms to pull itself up a hill, but accidentally pulls down the hill's "pants," revealing polka-dotted underpants. In this struggle, the train loses its boxcar. Now Bosko is in distress as the runaway boxcar speeds down the tracks and through tunnels. A cow appears on the tracks; but the pig has been knocked out. Bosko must handle the danger on his own.

A cartoonist named Rudolf Ising sits at his drawing board, smoking a cigarette and crumpling up his latest drawing. He tries a new drawing, and this time he produces Bosko, a caricatured Negro boy with a simple, rounded design. Once finished, Bosko becomes animate on the paper. "Well, here I is," he declares to the mildly surprised cartoonist. "And I shore feel good!" Bosko proceeds to dance, play the piano--and sing. But his singing is so bad that the cartoonist sucks Bosko back into his ink pen and then pours him into his inkwell. But the end of this demo reel proves that Bosko can't be beaten so easily.

Col. Rimfire tells his "faithful robot elephant", Ella, that he is determined once and for all to capture that troublesome tiger, Cool Cat. After Ella mistakingly points Rimfire to a rabbit, Rimfire discovers that Cool Cat has gone to Paris... namely to enter the Le Mans road race. Rimfire goes after Cool Cat with his rifle but the cat just calmly states, "Get off my chariot!" After sending Rimfire into the lake with a drop of oil on the track and returning a torpedo launched by the colonel to whence it came, the colonel and his elephant trap Cool Cat in his car but he escapes out the tailpipe followed by Rimfire. As a result, the elephant (being the only one left on the car), comes in first and is deemed a hero. Having lost the spotlight to an elephant, the cat agrees to let Rimfire continue chasing him!

Lo finally gets the hat again; Merlin says he can have it, but first they need to smoke the peace pipe: a giant bomb. Merlin gets to his performance, and it turns out to be an audience full of Indians, who attack.

Daffy is plucked for stardom by director Harvey Hassenpfeffer of Colossal Studios - or so he thinks. However, as he was in A Star Is Bored (1956), Daffy's real fate is to be the stunt man for the star, in this case Speedy Gonzales. The picture is The Nursery Rhyme Review. First, "the sky is falling"; next, the "rockabye baby" cradle falls from a treetop. Daffy realizes he needs to get rid of Speedy, so he asks for an autograph and traps Speedy in a book, which he deposits in a library. Daffy gets the love scene with Ducky Lamour, but after a number of stunts and just before the kiss, his stand-in, Speedy, takes over.

Rimfire decides to deliver Cool Cat, the hip tiger, to the circus and collect the money, but Cool Cat won't cooperate with Rimfire and leads the Colonel on a chase, straight into the circus, where the Colonel is clobbered for not having an admission ticket. After paying for a ticket and gaining legitimate entry into the big top, Rimfire chases Cool Cat through all the circus acts, including the Indian Snake Charmer, the trained seal, the human cannon ball, the fire eater, and the high wire.

A time machine sends Daffy Duck and Speedy Gonzales back to Rome in 65 A.D., where they are captured for lion fodder as entertainment for Emperor Nero. Speedy feeds hot chili peppers to a lion, causing the big cat to shoot like a skyrocket. He and Daffy are chased by guards and fall atop Nero, breaking the Emperor's fiddle. Nero angrily pursues Daffy and Speedy as the scientist who invented the time machine sets it in reverse and returns Daffy and Speedy to the present, accompanied by Nero. Nero becomes a fiddler in Speedy's musical band.

An exploding girl mouse doll keeps finding its way back to Daffy. Daffy disguises himself as a giant enchilada, but the mice squirt hot sauce on him. Finally, Daffy rides a rocket, but ends up running into a train which throws him right back through the hunting society's roof.

Daffy tries pounding on the floor (ignored), stuffing cotton in his ears (it pops out), smashing Speedy with a mallet through the phone (Speedy smashes Daffy instead) . Failing that, Daffy drills a hole in the floor and drops in a hand grenade. It keeps popping back up through holes in ever more distant places, the last of which is a rowboat in the middle of the lake. Daffy tries locking Speedy out, but Daffy shoots at Speedy with a shotgun, making a hole in the door. He tries sucking Speedy out with a vacuum cleaner, but Speedy fills it with gunpowder. Daffy gives up, and joins the band on cymbals from his bed.

However, after Daffy catches him, he is outraged to hear that he didn't work the full time and doesn't get the fifteen dollars, so Speedy Gonzales is set loose after Mayor Katt and Daffy Duck fight. Daffy is then once again begging for donations.

Daffy and Speedy both enter a yacht race. Speedy uses a bathtub; Daffy pulls the plug. Speedy comes back with a small raft; Daffy drops his anchor on the raft and sinks it. Speedy uses a helium balloon to drop onto Daffy's boat and suggests they work together. Daffy refuses; Speedy hides in the firehose, which Daffy chops to bits. Speedy turns on the water and washes Daffy into the sea. Daffy ties an anvil to Speedy and throws it overboard, but Speedy has tied Daffy to it. Speedy bashes Daffy, stuck in a porthole, with a baseball bat until he agrees to split the winnings 50-50 and work together. "Together" turns out to be Daffy swimming behind and pushing and speeding up when a shark shows up.

Next, he really wants an Irish Wrestling Chicken, which turns out to be a rope tied to a bull's tail. When Pete makes off with a chicken, nest and all, Foghorn grabs the chicken, then says Pete's found the rare Mongolian Disappearing Chicken, and the only way to make it reappear is tap dancing; Pete dances into a hole; Foggy drops an anvil on Pete's head ("a whole lotta lumps!") . Foggy walks away, chuckling at his cleverness, when a genuine Irish Wrestling Chicken pins him ("I'm glad I didn't show him the Norwegian Exploding Chicken") .

A female cat wants to board a French cruise ship. Prior to the ship's departure, she crawls under a freshly-painted, white metal gate and sneaks aboard. The paint from the gate has given her a white stripe on her back that causes everyone to think she's a skunk. An amorous skunk, Pepe Le Pew, spots her from shore and runs underwater to the ship, which has by now been abandoned by frightened crew and passengers, and climbs aboard. Pepe tries to woo the female cat, who runs away from him when she smells his odor. Pepe chases her around and around the ship.

Daffy Duck is China Jones, a fortune-seeking Irish private eye working in the Far East. He finds a call for help in a Chinese fortune cookie and decides to investigate. Acting on a tip displayed on a solo musician's drum, Daffy/Jones goes to a pub owned by Limey Louie to look for clues. Louie is, in fact, an ex-convict who blames Jones for sending him to jail. Louie disguises himself as a grieving widow and arranges a series of mishaps for the web-footed sleuth. Porky Pig also appears in this cartoon as Charlie Chung, the plain-clothes Chinese detective.

A kitten is dropped in a sack out of a car and rolls down a hill, to arrive at the door of Clyde and Matilda Mouse. Matilda thinks the kitten is heaven-sent and wants to keep him, and Clyde reluctantly agrees. But the kitten doesn't eat cheese and needs human companionship, and within weeks of their adopting the kitten, Clyde convinces Matilda that the kitten belongs with people. They leave the kitten on a lady's doorstep. A year later, on their "son's" birthday, Clyde and Matilda decide to visit him at his new home, and though the fully-grown cat remembers his adoptive rodent parents, his mistress doesn't like the presence of two mice in her home.
